Normally I would not rip on anyone in the medical field, as they are usually the difference between life & death(besides GOD) when we need them. But my experience with one of the Nurse Practitioners here bothers me more than I can reflect in this review. I brought my 12-week old daughter here for a routine well baby visit., & to see if she had an ear infection, as she has been crying immensely over the last few weeks. Mrs. Akahori entered the room and was very business-like & curt. She proceeded to physically check my daughters ears, eyes, throat etc and my daughter started to cry. Mrs. Akahori then stuck her finger in my child’s mouth, and my daughter was immediately quiet, thinking it was a bottle. This is when I noticed she was NOT wearing gloves! The real me would have flipped out & caused a scene, but given the recent stories in the news in which dr’s overstep their bounds and cause problems, I chose to keep quiet. This exam also included the dr undoing my child’s diaper & checking her private area. Mind you, ALLWITHOUTGLOVES. Mrs. Akahori then stated my child is due for her 2-month shots. I replied that we are delaying shots until further notice. She turned to me & with this rude, «I can destroy your life» tone & look, replied: «are you refusing them or delaying them»? Really??? This is the manner in which medical people are now treating you?!? I stated we are delaying them. She said I needed to sign a form, which I did(didn’t read it though, as I wanted out of this place ASAP). I have since put a call into this departments Chief of Staff, as well as sent my attorney an email. I’m shocked either one of the matters I addressed could happen, let alone to me & my child. I do not recommend this Nurse Practitioner or this Pediatric office. On another note, Mrs. Akahori is not my child’s regular dr/np. I needed an appt quickly & we were given who was available. The other doctors & staff in this office are great, they always wear gloves & don’t speak to you in a demeaning manner. All the same, we will not be returning to this office.
