Where is the negative star option when you really, really need one? I try to stay on the positive end when giving reviews but this place is one of the biggest disasters in the nail world. I came here because my friend scheduled the appointment, but I wish I had looked at Unilocal first so I could have convinced her to go elsewhere. We scheduled appointments for a manicure and pedicure for both of us. Upon arrival we were told to wait. They started my manicure first. This was a bit annoying because we wanted to spend time together, but we figured they’d start her manicure soon. We noticed they only take cash so my friend said she’d run across the street to get some. After 5 minutes, Robert, who was doing my nails, rudely said, «Is that girl going to be back soon? We have a tight schedule.» Well, 1) you heard her say she’d be right back, 2) YOU made both of us wait when we had appointments, and 3) all the aestheticians are still busy! As for the quality of the manicure… O…M…G. Painful, quick(hardly any filing or cuticle trimming), and the WORST paint job I’ve seen. I got a gel manicure and now I realize what happened: Robert has no experience with this technique. It looked like when I first tried this on myself. Granted, we all need practice, but don’t practice on a paying customer and expect her to be satisfied! As he was going along, I looked at my nails and he sensed my concern. Rather than offering to fix it or address it, he started to say things like, «Sometimes this polish isn’t that great,» or «The OPI polish isn’t good sometimes.» So… why do you offer it? When it was all done I couldn’t help but say something. It was so uneven, bumpy, and ran onto my skin which doesn’t come off like regular polish and will cause it to lift off, defeating the purpose of getting gel. He continued to complain about the polish(which he purchases and chooses to use on his playing customers) and fixed one of my nails. I said how much better that looked. He then put my hand down and started cleaning up. I was confused, as he only fixed ONENAIL. I asked him if he was going to fix the rest and he responded by telling me the problem may be MYNAILSARETOOOILY. Umm, aside from the fact that I’ve had gel before, you just gave me a manicure(albeit a crummy one) and wiped my nails with alcohol as you’re supposed to do prior to the polish. By this time I’d had enough. I asked him if he thought this looked good. Without saying anything he sent me to another woman who did a fantastic job. Of course, this extra time meant I didn’t have time to get a pedicure as my friend was almost done with both her treatments. As I was finishing up, Robert loudly complained while doing another woman’s nails that one of his aestheticians went to the doctor despite the fact that they were so busy. How sad! Granted, I have no idea why she went to the doctor but why would you announce this to everyone? To find out that Robert is an owner and to see how he treats his employees and his clients, I will NEVER be back and will do my best to warn all my friends as well.

This place filed my nails down before placing an acrylic on my big toe! so much that my toenail was bleeding the next day. I now have an appointment next week for a toenail removal on my left big toe because of how short they caused my nail to be. Also messed up my sisters toenails as well. One toenail was longer than the other. Not really worried about my sisters toenails though, that’s just a small cosmetic issue. I, however, am now stuck stuck with medical expenses. ***update; I no longer have a toenail bed on my left toe nail. And will be getting in contact with their insurance provider. I have heard of other stories of another woman that had to file a claim as well. Don’t just avoid this place because they are terrible, avoid this place for HEALTH and medical reasons.

Went in yesterday to have a manicure, and to my pleasant surprise Lisa is no longer there. I was seated and helped immediately, nails turned out wonderful(as usual), and the polish looks amazing. The atmosphere was light and lots of joking around and happy overall, a definite change from the previous months!!! Robert is running a special, didn’t quite catch the details but it’s half off of waxing, not sure what service you need to have done to get that but it’s worth looking into. Kind of all over the place on this post, My apologies, but on an ending note I’d like to say that I’ve been having my manicures/pedicures/waxing done by Robert for years and have always been happy. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of drama in the past few years between him and his ex wife Lisa, which caused the atmosphere to be tense, and there was even a bit of bickering that went on. That being said … It’s wonderful to se Robert back to his old smiling, friendly self! If you haven’t been in a while it’s worth going back and giving it another chance, and if you’ve never been before its definitely worth going!
