My wife and I visit the hills a couple times a year. We always make it a point to eat here. Great food, great view, great atmosphere. The place is always clean and the staff is always very friendly. I just wish they were open more days during the week

Great dining area and very nice menu with quality food items. I had the chicken wings appetizer and the chicken nachos. The wings were 8 in an order, but unlike other places these wings were full and top quality; unlike others that have some tiny boned, little meat quality of wings. The chicken nachos were huge with all the toppings. Overall, an awesome meal for the price with an outstanding dining area. I’ve also heard rave reviews about the Sunday brunch, but I have yet to try it. Definitely worth the time to check this place out!

You might not consider eating at a «Lodge» by a State Park, but if you pass up this gem you’ll miss out on the best place to eat in Logan! The chef hits it out of the park! Everything is made from scratch from their smoked meats to their fried catfish to their pizza and their desserts. They also have specials everyday. I love their potato skins with either beef brisket or pulled pork, my husband loves the Reuben or Hamburger, I love their Pastrami on GF bread(yes! Gluten Free options here… yea!), and we both love their catfish dinner(GF option as well). The fries are outstanding, the salads are SO fresh… made to order, and they’ve even had blacken prime rib… wow! They do have pizza with a GF option(crust not made in house) that we haven’t tried yet. And we haven’t had their desserts yet — we’re too full since their portions are big. They do offer Buffets for Sunday breakfast/brunch, and holidays. Five stars for sure, and bravo to the Chef! Can’t wait to go back.

Great food. Decent prices. I live in the area and go there a couple of times a month. I always see friends and neighbors when I go. If the locals eat there, you can bet it’s good.

Really great food. We found this place on our last night in Hocking, and we just loved it. I got the brisket, my daughter got pizza and husband got steak. Everything was awesome, and we can’t wait till our next trip, so we can stop back.

Haven’t had a bad meal yet since management changed a year or so ago. The prime rib is delicious and the helpings are huge! You definately will not leave hungry. I’ve heard great things about the pizza as well, but I can’t seem to pass up the pulled pork and prime rib to order it!

Started with cheesy fries. good cheese and bacon. The brisket was good but the porkchop was excellent! Slight issue with the waitress not bringing salads till after she had brought the main course. Well be back for another porkchop!

I gave it 5 stars because it totally surpassed expectations. Nachos were huge and yummy. The Lake Hope Brisket Salad was AMAZING! Couldn’t believe how tender the meat was. White pizza was top notch and we had a great view.

This is as good as it gets in the Hocking Hills area, and this restaurant far outshines others in the area. The BBQ is ridiculously good. Try the brisket. We tried other BBQ in town, but they were nowhere close to this place. We had great service — both times — we enjoyed our fist visit so much, that we decided to return on the last night of our trip. There were options for my vegetarian and young child. Both waitresses that served us were terrific. They took genuine interest in our visit, both making suggestions for visits in the area along with guidance on the menu. They had an excellent beer selection too. Pros: + Great menu, Great Food, BBQ that was out of this world! + Nice beer selection(though no bar) + Excellent service + Terrific pricing Cons: — If I had to list one– the atmosphere was a little bland, but if you can get seated near the windows, just look out over nature and that won’t bother you a bit. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the neighborhood.

This past Saturday my boyfriend and I went to a really great murder mystery dinner at the Hocking Hills Resort, however, we were not full from their offering. We had our hearts set on Pizza Crossing, which happened to be super far from where we were, and there happened to be a BLIZZARD taking place. We had no service on our phones, so no GPS, and we couldn’t find the street which Pizza Crossing was located on our map. We decided to go to the restaurant near Old Man’s Cave which we had been informed from one of the women at the visitor’s center. Our intent was simply to ask how the heck to get to Pizza Crossing. There were NO cars in the parking lot, so I waited in the truck while my bf went in to ask directions. Seemed like a scene straight from a horror movie really. He came back out about five minutes later saying, «They have pizza here!» I did not have any intentions of eating somewhere that had no cars in the parking lot, seemed sketchy. He reassured me the chef was thrilled to make us a pizza. I still wasn’t convinced, but I was really hungry, and really craving pizza. I reluctantly went inside, where we were greeted by the chef, who really did seem genuinely excited to make us a pizza! We ordered a pepperoni pizza to go. OMG! Best pizza I have ever eaten. The fact that I was starving, the chef was happy to make it, and I was so appreciate of it may have made it taste even better. This pizza change my life. I never want to eat pizza without little pepperoni again. The million little pepperoni on it curled up and transformed into crispy nuggets of pure heaven. We were about to be out of toilet paper at our cabin, so the chef even gave us a roll! That dude rocks! I thank my lucky stars for Hocking Hills Dining Lodge, and that wonderful chef!

We didn’t want to make the winding drive back to Logan for dinner, so we took a chance on the lodge. While the atmosphere isn’t great, the food exceeded our expectations. It was clearly more than food dumped out of a can.

Update: The restaurant operator, Matt, contacted me after reading my review, and acknowledged my issues and agreed our visit was not to his standards. He also assured me our visit would be used as a training guide for their current staff. He also invited me to give them another try, and I agreed if I was ever in the area again, I would consider a revisit based on his note to me. While I still maintain my 1 star on our visit, I give Matt an «A-OK» for following up with customers who have a poor experience at his establishment. Thanks again for the note Matt.
