Sure, it’s a cute little place, unexpectedly filled with classic candies and kitschy trinkets, and of course jerky. Tried their weekly Thursday special, single hamburger, not very good. Ground beef was the lowest grade, cheap bun was like any average grocery brand, and it was literally dripping with mustard. Sure it was inexpensive, but still not worth it. Plus their sign outside showed a double cheeseburger for $ 3.99.we get inside and find out its twice the price. The olé switcheroo :(French dip was filled with stringy, slow-cooked beef. It got dry and tough very fast. inferior to what I cook at home, mine is more tender. Au jus was good though. I’m a big jerky eater. The jerky here really packs a flavor punch, especially their original hickory flavor. But as jerky goes, it is on the tough side, thinner than I prefer and it’s pricey. Service is friendly, but one college student running the entire place isn’t enough. cooking food, making jerky bouquets. she tends to get backed up. I do like the new larger tables, much better for groups. But overall, the food isn’t good enough to bring me back.

Great sandwich shop. Got the pepper popper sandwich and Jackson hole sarsaparilla. Perfect lunch! Under $ 10. Could use a better bathroom… Had to walk through kitchen. Friendly staff.

I didn’t realize these guys made sandwiches, but holy smokes they make a good sandwich! I tried the pepper popper and it was the best roast beef sandwich I have ever experienced. They also sell Jackson Hole soda, which if you haven’t tried then go for the huckleberry soda, it will change your life.

Logan, UT: I’m not exactly the key demographic this restaurant is looking for… this is a meat place and I’m a vegetarian. Even so, they were able to make me a veggie sandwich with a delicious southwestern sauce. For six dollars I was able to get a well proportioned sandwich, a can of soda or bottled water, chips, and a full sized stick of jerky for checking in(I gave it to a carnivorous friend of mine). The meal also comes packaged with a sample of jerky and a piece of candy. Sincerely a great deal and excellent customer service. I recommend taking the food to go because there are only two/three tiny tables to sit at inside.

I was hesitant to try this place since I didn’t know anyone that had tried it. I went ahead and tried it any ways and it was so good! The pork sandwich I had was the best in the valley that I have had. I love how they give you little samples of their jerky too. It made me go in and buy some!

Excellent hot BBQ sandwiches. The place almost hides from view, but it sure is worth it. The jerkey is pretty great, too and they have a nice selection of country store-style candies and treats. Check them out.

Fantastic, little known shop by Hastings in Logan. My wife and I love their sandwiches(especially the pepper popper) the meat is delicious! Also, they have some of the best jerky you’ll ever buy retail and they have an assortment of old fashioned treats and toys along one wall, fun for the kids to pick something out.

I visited Papa Jay’s after reading about French Dip Friday. You know I only saved like 50 cents, but with a catchy slogan like that, it didn’t really matter. The point is that I had fun. Papa Jay’s is more of a shop than a restaurant. Yes, there are a couple of tables, but they are small and awkwardly positioned. I probably wouldn’t ever stay for lunch. Not a big deal though, because it’s an interesting place to visit. One wall is filled with bins of novelty candy like Razzles, wax bottles, and candy lipstick. The rest of the shelves in the store are filled with jerky. Papa Jay’s currently has a Unilocal check-in deal that allows you one free piece of jerky with purchase. I tried teriyaki and it was really good. My French dip sandwich was so-so. Not hateful, but also not amazing. For $ 5, you get the sandwich/dip, a bag of Lay’s potato chips, and a can of soda or bottle of water. Not a bad deal; however, since Old Grist Mill offers the same exact deal with better sandwiches right next door, it will be hard to return to Papa Jay’s. I really liked that they had a Unilocal deal here, and am mildly curious about the other sandwiches on their menu. I might come back, but am not making it a huge priority.

Great value for a great sandwich. For $ 6 or less, you’ll get a simple sandwich on a fresh hogie roll served in a brown bag. There’s two small tables for dining in or you can take your brown bagged sandwich and eat it elsewhere. Be sure to grab some jerky while you’re there. That’s really what Papa Jay’s is known for, but the sandwiches don’t disappoint. And if you do get the daily special($ 4.99 for a sandwich, chips and a drink) and they give you option of potato salad instead of chips, do it! You’ll be glad you did.

Great sandwiches! It’s all shredded beef, with many different options. The southwestern and sweet caroline are really good. Meat is tender, bread is just right, flavors are on. The jerky is excellent. Plus they have cool candy you can’t find anywhere else! Go try it out.
