Not the cleanest or newest place to bowl, but if you like having a whole bowling ally to yourself this is the place to go! Springfield Bowl has certainly seen some better days and if you are looking for a crowded party of an ally this isn’t it. But the girl working was very sweet and even though they hardly had any snacks she made us soft pretzels. If you are a serious bowler you will hate the lanes. They are hardy slick and definitely warped. A good experience in a rather crappy place! Try it out we still had a lot of fun !

The previous review was made some time ago, and I’d imagine was being fairly generous. I’m a huge bowling fan, and this bowling alley is probably the worst one I’ve ever been to. The lanes are in terrible shape and poorly maintained. The building’s structure is decayed, maybe dangerously so. The ceiling is falling apart from water damage, and none of the men’s bathroom was functioning. The floor tiles were broken and moved around like a slide puzzle. The music is pumped in from a jukebox at 50 cents per song, which no one was using. And by no one, I mean me and my friend, because no one else was in the alley all night. At a dollar per hour, it must be bad to not attract some sort of crowd.

There is not a lot to do in the Southern York County area of Pennsylvania, so I am glad that we at least have this bowling alley for some recreation. That being said, it is pretty bare bones. The overall aesthetic is worn down. The lanes have seen better days and have lost most of their slickness. The game room is outdated and limited to some arcade style units and a beat-up pool table. The food options are what you might expect: cheesy, greasy, low quality, snack food(pizza, soda, hot dogs, chips, etc). Despite these unimpressive facilities, Springfield Lanes does host an active roster of bowling teams, numerous special events, and frequent private parties. The biggest plus is definitely the price. Growing up in the area and bowling here on occasion I can attest to the wonderful promotions they would have(like discounts for A’s and B’s on children’s report cards) on top of already cheap rates.
