It’s a shame. The salad bar during lunch is pretty good and that’s about it. The dishes they make are not consistent in flavor, sometimes bland, or unappetizing. I wouldn’t recommend this for a hot meal. You’ll have better luck elsewhere. The employees are not very friendly either. I was overcharged today. So be careful that they don’t do the same.

There’s only one thing that I dislike about the Loma Linda cafeteria: that I only get to eat there whilst hospitalized(was in for nearly 2 weeks last year), or there for doctor’s appointments. They have the best veggie burger EVER, in my opinion, and I’ve had many a veggie burger. The patty is the perfect texture, not heavy or dry, and it’s served on a whole-wheat bun with lots of tomatoes, lettuce & pickles. Speaking of pickles, their fried pickles are amazing… sure, they’re not health food, and aren’t available every day, but they are SOGOOD! The chili(with soy meat) is also yummy, as are the cake slices and the pasta salad(another item that’s not always available, but I get it whenever it is). Breakfast options include both scrambled eggs and scrambled tofu(sounds gross, but I prefer it to eggs), veggie sausage links and patties, and an assortment of fresh fruit. I love that they have Martinelli’s sparkling cider as a beverage option, too. Salad bar and breakfast bar are charged by weight, so it can add up if you’re not careful, but you’re in a hospital cafeteria with actually decent food, so I guess it’s a trade-off…

Vegetarian menu! Food is good and they have a variety. The grill is made to order. Bagel Morgan is so good! Thursday menu(taco soup) is a must!(Veggie meat used) no caffeine so bring your own! Although emergency room vending machines have monster energy drinks. Staff are sometimes rude and very slow moving. They take there time. But overall food is good if you are ok with no meat and they have a good variety of tofu dishes as well. They have a sandwich bar and salad bar and the salads are the best!

What is this vegetarian/caffeine-free crap? This stuff is barely edible. Go down the street to In-n-Out.

Vegetarian Heaven! Too bad this place is in a community hospital. I’ve been coming here for years either while visiting a patient or just passing thru the area. While this is nothing gourmet… the food is still above average considering eveything is veggie including the meats. Only a 3star rating due to lack of organic options and the fact that a lot of stuff is processed and deep fried. The cafeteria has several food staions including a self serve salad bar, a full service grill that makes fresh veggie burgers and grilled sandwiches, a hot food station with ethnic dishes and plenty of refrigerators that stock interesting beverages such as chocolate soy milk and organic sodas. It is what it is and eye yam what eye yam!

There are LOTS if better places to eat within hospital proximities. Go Unilocal one out and avoid the cafeteria, if you can.

I love this cafeteria! It might as well be a vegetarian restaurant! Jk jk but seriously I don’t know why people don’t like it. Perhaps not used to it? I really really live the«turkey» melt from the hot sandwiches section. Idk about people but I often long got that sandwich …

As a facility that promotes health you’d expect a great variety of fresh health choices… WRONG! This place is packed full of hypocrisy. How can fake processed foods be healthy for you? It’s not, actually studies have shown some if not all to be linked to cancer. Sh*t, you might as well be eating at McDonalds(which I hate as well). If you’re going to promote healthy living/eating then at least offer some original fresh menu items that don’t involve fried/deep fried foods.

Well… I must say I’ve had much better hospital food than this. Sometimes I like to be a fatty so I do enjoy some of their foods on the grill. They don’t have the kind of options you would expect if you want something really healthy. The salad bar could use alot of help. If you buy anything from the hot bar or if you get anything measured by weight I hope you realize it will cost you! I didn’t know a burrito that doesn’t even have meat can be so expensive! Everything is vegetarian and caffeine free here. They also charge for condiments of ANY kind. it’s great if they are strictly vegetarian, but please give us more options.

Unfortunately, we’ve all had to experience hospital food at one time or another. No one really expects to be impressed with the taste or selection of food you encounter in a hospital cafeteria. The only reason I bother creating a Unilocal review for LLUMC cafeteria is the minuscule chance someone will be saved from this tasteless money pit. One would think a Vegetarian institution as renowned as Loma Linda’s would hoist a spotlight on fresh and delectable veggies. But sadly, the cafeteria is plagued with the same frozen mixed veggies and canned fruit day after day. You should be warned though– if you’re brave enough to leave the pathetic salad bar and try the array of fried and sauce smothered imitation meat options you should have a credit card handy… because it will cost you dearly. They charge by weight($ 0.39/ounce), so the worst tasting vegetarian refried beans, rice, and a cheese blob resembling a Chile Relleno will cost you around $ 8 or more! If you need salsa or ketchup or salt for the bland food… guess what, they charge for that too. So if you ever find yourself with NOOTHEROPTION, then heed my advice and stick to the safety of the bagged goodies– it’ll only cost you $ 1.75 for a $.99 snack.
