An excellent beginning class. This is a low intensity aerobic exercise. Focusing on Improving balance and stress reduction. Correct Technique is emphasized. Though the room is cold so if you want to take the class bring a sweat shirt. The teacher is the best in the area and many of his students are also teachers in the area. Loma Linda University did a diabetes research study using this teacher, Harvey Kurland, and the same protocol as this class and found that the type 2 diabetics and normals all improved their balance by 200% to 300% in 8 weeks, at two sessions per week. The majority of diabetics also lowered their A1C levels. The Researcher will publish the study next year in scientific journals. The class is now 7:00PM on Thursdays. Free Parking. Most of the beginning exercises can be found on the video Symmetrical Yang Style T’ai Chi Ch’uan on Amazon.

The tai chi teacher is the same one who teaches for Redlands Aikikai, many of the students go to both facilities. This is an inexpensive class with a discount for gym members. But non-members can take the class. He teaches The Old form of Yang Style, symmetrical form in the class and there are several levels from beginning to advanced students. Small classes and personal attention. The teacher is well respected in the region as an expert. The downside is the class is only one day a week, now on Thursdays at 6:30PM. They gym has limited hours but that does not effect the tai chi class.
