Food was great when you get what you actually ordered. First and last time here. Our server was very rushed. I’ve never been to a wine bar and was trying to decide what to order but our server seemed like he didn’t have all day for us. I hate places like this. You can’t sit and enjoy your food when your server takes on too many tables then doesn’t come back. My salad wasn’t what I asked for and was brought to our table twice incorrectly. Personally I think it should Of been taken out of our check or a minimum of an apology from our server. This would of been my new spot if it wasn’t for our server.

One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Not only do they have great wine, but their food is amazing. I’ve gone multiple times and there is never anything I’ve had from there that I did not like. You can’t go wrong with their butcher’s plate and a good glass of wine. I don’t usually indulge in sweets but their chocolate chip skillet cookie dessert is worth the calories. The service is always great as well. I took my mom to D.O.C. for mother’s day and they even gave her a free mimosa, which was a nice/unexpected treat. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I wish they had a few more affordable wine options. Their cheapest glass of wine is $ 9 but most average in the $ 12-$ 15 range.

I used to be a huge fan of this place, but my last 2 visits have not been great. In general, I always make a reservation using Open Table. It’s not hard to get one, especially on a Sunday, which is the day I went the last 2 times. Both times service was INCREDIBLY spotty. Last week, they had ONE person working the bar, taking orders and bringing them out. She didn’t know which types of cheese was which on the butcher block and then confused us by bringing another type out, saying it was what we really ordered but I don’t think it was. Brussels sprout appetizer is usually a favorite but it seemed cooked in a rush last week and was overly lemony. When I went a few weeks ago with my family, the table we were seated at was broken and wobbly. By the time we were able to get someone to move us, the next table was wobbly also. On that visit we tried the chips and guacamole and I wouldn’t get that again. This is not the type of place for that dish. Wines are very overpriced. Food is most always good, except for my last few visits. I love the Butcher’s Block. I tend to get 2 cheeses and 2 bruschettas. My favorites are the Old Amsterdam, the Gryuere, the ricotta and honey toast and the brie and apple. I am sure we will keep coming because we’ve been coming for awhile but I really hope the service improves soon.

Wandered in on Friday evening. No seats at the bar. No problem. Jillian could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. She chose a nice glass of red for me, and was attentive, but not intrusive. It is a warm space with good energy. The menu ranges from salads to steaks. I will be back.

Amazing service and amazing food. Stopped in for a quick bite while waiting for a friend and couldn’t have had a more relaxing time. I recommend picking from the butchers plate if cured meats & cheese are your thing. Excellent recommendations. Garrett was phenomenal. I will definitely be back again with company.

This is one of the best restaurants in Lombard! Highly recommended. One of the bartenders, Garrett, is absolutely the best and really knows how to care for customers and keep the environment fun!

Great spot. I held a private event in one of the back rooms and it went off without a hitch. Food was good, we had our own bar tender who was on top of things, and ambiance was very cozy. Perfect for a casual work event. Will definitely be back and excited to just eat in the main part of the restaurant.

There’s no shortage of places for me to indulge in my craft beer, but sometimes I like to switch it up a bit and sip on some wine. And when I do, I love taking a trip to D.O.C. Now, you may think you have to be all dressed up to come here. So not the case. I mean don’t come in pajamas, but, you know, dress like people will see you. Frugal pro tip: Sundays are half price wine flights! A flight of 4 wines is usually about $ 21, so cut that in half and you’ve got yourself an afternoon! There’s a variety of white and red flights to choose from, all with interesting flavor profiles. I also like to get a butcher board of cheeses and meats. Seriously. That paired with the wine? I always leave satisfied and with a huge smile on my face. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. I love the openness of the booths inside and the option to sit outside when it’s nice. Oh, and they do have a good selection of craft beers if you would rather go that route.

Great food. I had the calamari. Great service. The bartender let me sample seriously like 5 different wines. She even tasted with me. I didn’t have to wait at all when I walked in. It’s in Yorktown center which is right next to oakbrook so everyone is really classy and attractive. Bravo!

Love love love this place. The atmosphere, the wine, the food, what more do u need. They have events here which are fun and it’s a nice date night spot. The staff is nice as well and believe me there there is no judgment if you have one glass of wine too many. Heehee

I went to D.O.C. on Saturday 12÷05÷15 for dinner with a party of 4 and we had a great time. We have been coming here for about 2 years and we have never been disappointed. I had 2 delicious glasses of red wine, one was a red blend and one was a cabernet franc. We skipped the butcher’s plate this time(although we almost always get it and I highly recommend it!) but we still got the brie and apple flatbread appetizer with proscuitto. The brie and apple flatbread is absolutely in the top 5 for the best appetizers I’ve ever had. The thinly sliced apples, proscuitto, jam and brie atop a crisp, toasty flatbread is AMAZING. For my meal I selected the filet slider trio and added a side of asparagus. The asparagus was very fresh and served with a lemon, and the filet sliders were delicious! The sliders was topped with caramelized onions, balsamic, blue cheese and arugula(I requested the arugula though, otherwise it wouldn’t be served with it.) I will say the sliders were a bit small though.?Usually I always have leftovers to take home but tonight I didn’t. However, they were such delicious little morsels that I didn’t mind. By the time we finished our meals we were all very full, but being a D.O.C. regular I knew we could not leave without eating a cookie skillet for dessert. After our table had a tiff about whether or not we’d get the cookie or the crème brûlée to share, we ended up with both. The cookie was fantastic, served warm and gooey in a hot skillet, adorned with caramel and vanilla ice cream. Everyone loved it. I heard the crème brûlée was also very delicious(I’m not a custard person so I didn’t try it.) I usually come to D.O.C. on a Tuesday or another evening when they are running a special deal on their wine(½ price glasses, ½ price bottles, ½ price fligjts) because otherwise things can get a bit expensive. However, even when I get socked with a huge bill I don’t even regret it because everything at D.O.C. has always been just wonderful for us. The ambiance, servers, wine, food and cleanliness have always been superb. I will definitely be back ASAP!

I had friends in town visiting over Thanksgiving week, and Tuesday was the only night everyone was available. I couldn’t think of a good place to meet between Naperville and Hinsdale, but my friends recommended finding somewhere in Yorktown, and DOC wine bar seemed upscale casual with a focus on good wine and a nice quiet ambiance that would allow us all to catch up, so I chose it. Oops. Now admittedly I wasn’t expecting it to be insanely busy on a Tuesday night, but I guess it was. My friend texted me while I was en route to say it would be an hour wait. I was completely shocked and decided to comb OpenTable for a place with an immediate res open so we could get to sitting down and catching up. I open the app, and their first recommendation was DOC wine bar — having 7, 7:15, 7:30, and 7:45 open reservations(it was 6:50). Assuming they keep a table open for the potential reservations they could receive, I snagged a 7:15 res for 5 and finished my drive to the restaurant, assuming I had the situation handled. I got to the restaurant and breezed past my friend to the hostess, and advised her I had made a reservation. She stared at me and said«that’s nice — but you have to wait for all the people here before you to be seated.» I was taken aback by the nastiness in her voice. «But why was I able to make a reservation if I still have to wait? Why have reservations available?» She continued to stare at me and said«because you have to wait.» When the rest of our group got there moments later, I loudly advised them of the situation and that we should go elsewhere. A manager quickly ran over and told us he could put us at a large standing table only for a bit while a table was cleared. Yeah… I thought so. So we stand around this large awkward table in the middle of the tiny restaurant and order a bottle of wine. A few minutes later, they came over to jam all 5 of us into a booth for 4. Pleasant! We’d been there long enough that I needed some food to go with my drinks. My husband and I both decided on the«world’s greatest grilled cheese» and another friend got a Margherita pizza. I was SHOCKED by how cheap the food menu is here — almost every option is under $ 10 — and eagerly anticipated gooey cheesy greatness. When the food came, I realized why it was so inexpensive. Cold, mushy, almost-matchstick-sized fries adorned a white plate with a plain, undercooked, gloppy grilled cheese sitting beside it. My husband and I picked at our meals and our friends tried the fries and laughed at our misfortune. The pizza was similarly spineless. When the server cleared our plates and everyone refused a to-go box, he didn’t ask why. He knew. With an incredibly rude hostess, awful table setup, cramped booths and a mediocre food menu, I have to sadly say I won’t be back. I can have a good glass of wine almost anywhere — but a bad grilled cheese is tough to forgive.

Un. Believable. So good. Sat at the bar w my lady. Bartender Nicole D. was amazing. Perfect in fact. She recommended the perfect appetizers, cheeses and entrees. Even was open to critique on making an Old Fashioned. Mind blown. I did not expect what I found when we arrived. Elegant. Sexy. Well stocked. I would definitely return. I recommend the Tony’s penne pasta, which apparently was somewhat of an accident in its making. The Margherita pizza my lady ordered was delicious as well… But it’s no Tony’s Penne. Had a cheese and meat appetizer. Sooooooo good. Im a tough critic, and I have nothing bad to say about this place. Delightfully surprised.

Decent wine bar for the location. They don’t change the wine menu much but I suppose consistency is a good thing sometimes. Like the butcher plate concept — great for groups. Being able to pick 4 or 8 items from a list of cheeses, meats and bruschetta… Right up my alley! The other dishes are good as well, from what I hear — relying on my husband’s input here — I’m a sucker for trying many things so I never get past the butcher plate!

Enjoyed my first visit to this restaurant/wine bar. My husband and I each had wine flights. Their wine list is pretty large and they have some good wines on hand. We decided to not have dinner and share an appetizer and the butcher plate. The butcher plate is one whole page of the menu where you can choose from cheeses, meats and bruschetta. We opted for the larger plate of 8 items. The two bruschettas we chose were delicious! One was a whipped ricotta with honey and pistachios and the other prosciutto with cheese and pears. I also recommend trying the smoked duck breast. We also shared the filet trio sliders. They were perfectly seared served with blue cheese and caramelized onions on top and full of flavor. I enjoyed everything about this place and I will definitely be back as I really liked the food and drink.

This is my second time coming to DOC. I came on a Friday around 3 p.m. The first review I wrote was October 13, 2014 and I was much more satisfied with that experience. The hostess was wearing a casual tank and yoga pants and gym shoes, personally I felt this was unprofessional for the location-she was friendly though. Our waitress was not attentive, never checked in on us and she was waiting two other tables. We were seated next to a couple who was dining and they were very loud. I think it might have been nice if the hostess would have considered where to seat us when the entire restaurant was empty other than this one other couple and put us a table or two away as a courtesy. My mom ordered the chicken-while the flavor was good, it was extremely dry. I ordered the rigatoni and the noodles were extremely over cooked to the point where at least half of the noodles broke in half. The ambiance of this place is great. The drinks are great. If the service was better in all aspects, from hostess to the chef(on the day I visited) I would have loved to give a better review.

I was shopping at Yorktown Mall and noticed this wine bar. Shopping and wine– perfect combo! I really wanted to love this place. We walked in and sat down at the bar. It took awhile for a bartender to get to us. We each had a wine flight. I thought it would be a great way to sample a few new wines. I finished the flight and wanted to order a glass of wine. It took awhile for the bartender to come back and ask if we needed anything. The wine was flavorful and the atmosphere was relaxing. The service needed a little improvement. They had a private party in the back room… maybe most of the staff was helping with that. I really enjoyed the wines and the atmosphere but I think I will try another restaurant next time I’m shopping at Yorktown Mall.

I’m not a huge wine person, but I had the best chardonnay I’ve ever had. Take that back, the best white wine I’ve ever had. It was a fantastic place to meet for a date or girls night out. It was very cozy and had very dark lighting. This is a great place for a date if you’re a young couple. The menu and the butcher block was quite confusing. Maybe I’m not used to this kind of place, but I wasn’t wowed in terms of the bang for the buck. You were able to choose 4 different tastes for $ 15 dollars, which I interpreted to be similar to an appetizer. I ordered the salmon, brie, melon w/ham, and another cheese. This wasn’t the amount of food to split. Everything tasted delicious; however, was very small and quite expensive for what you got. We also ordered an entrée. I ordered a brussel sprout salad and my friend ordered a pasta. My salad was nice, but the menu advertised blueberries and I only found 2 blueberries in my whole salad. My friend’s pasta was phenomenal and fairly priced. I like this place a lot, but found their menu a little confusing and I didn’t quite know what I was getting. When checking out, our waiter couldn’t separate the butchers block which was a little annoying. Pros: ambience, food, service, and wine was excellent Cons: menu was confusing, much of the menu items were very tiny, and separate checks not 100% possible and the restaurant is very loud Tip– bring cash, dress well, and order pasta if you’re hungry

I absolutely adore D.O.C. wine bar. It is literally made up of all my favorite things. Wine, bruschetta, cheeses, cookies… the list goes on. Which reminds me, I must get back to D.O.C. real soon! The first time I was here was about 3 ½ years ago with my husband on our first date — so you could say this place is dear to my heart! I remember our dinner like it was yesterday. Of course it also helps that we’ve been back here a number of times since :) It’s such a cute spot for a date night or dinner with friends. Everything I’ve had on the menu has been simply delicious. These are a few of my favorites that I highly suggest trying: — Maryland Crab Cakes — Tony B’s Rigatoni — Angry Chef’s Calamari — Wrightwood Salad — Lincoln Park Chocolate Chip Cookie — Aaaaand pretty much everything off the Butcher’s Plate menu I’ve also tried a ton of different wines that I like here, so I wouldn’t even know which one to begin to describe. However, the staff is great! They’re super helpful and passionate about the wine bar so feel free to ask for suggestions!
