National Gold Medal Award winning Park District. Went to the pool it’s excellent. The guards were very professional. After seeing the review below about inappropriate music, I asked the pool manager what kind of music was played. According to her they play the radio, 99.5 or 101.9 The Mix. Guess the person complaining about the music should call those radio stations. My kids had a great time. Oh and the water under the slides depth is 42 inches. I asked if that was too deep like the person wrote on the previous review. They said the depth was mandated by the state. So before bashing someplace, maybe you should get your facts straight or find out why.

The Lombard Park District Adult Athletic Leagues are sub par. The facilities are pretty good, but the management is very poor. I’m a long time resident who moved to Elmhurst who has a superior PD. LPD continues to tolerate trashy, classless teams in their leagues and does nothing to enforce rules that prohibit negative behaviors(smoking, swearing, aggressive behavior, aggressive physical play). Unsafe, unfriendly and not enjoyable, if you’re looking for a sports league, try Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn or Downers Grove — all have superior Park Districts to Lombard.

Now that we’re all settled in to being Lombard residents, I’ve restarted my workout routines, and I decided to go the park district route again — I like supporting the town I live in and the prices are reasonable. I don’t want to join a gym, I just want to take a few group classes. + Nice variety of classes, including a dozen different yoga, early morning, later at night, harder-core and lower-impact. + Teachers seem to really know what they’re doing. + Online registration is a breeze. + If you have questions they are quick to get back to you by e-mail(I assume they would be helpful on the phone as well). + Wide variety of programs overall, for all ages. + Great make-up policy — if you miss a class or the instructor does, you can go to any other class or the fitness center. — The map of the facilities on their website is incredibly vague. — The Lombard Community Building parking lot is not well lit at night, and it’s hard to see if you’re parking properly. It looks sort of deserted, too. — No locker room facilities at this building. — No centralized one-stop workout facility — you have to pay attention to where the classes are, because they’re scattered all over town. — No spin class(I know bikes are kind of expensive, but I miss spin…) — One class I went to, the instructor failed to show up. However, I got a prompt response about the make-up policy(above). Overall I’m happy to be working out again and pleased with the experience so far. I just think there are a few things the LPD could do to up their game. :)
