This rink has the best floor I’ve ever skated on! Large facility that has a very friendly atmosphere. Steve and Sandy are the best. The staff is great too. I love the fact that they are not just about roller skating. They are involved in Artistic Skating, Skating Lessons for Beginners they are also Home to Chicago’s Premier Men’s Roller Derby League, the Chicago Bruise Brothers!

I love everything about this rink! They offer many good skate sessions, and are involved in artistic skating, roller derby, and I believe some nights they also have Zumba classes! Very well-​maintained floor and friendly people. Owner is very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to purchasing skates and any other things you might need. My boyfriend bought his first pair of skates from this rink and Steve was very helpful with finding the right size and something within his price range

Threw my daughter a birthday party here in August of last year. The staff were amazing, the waitress/​hostess designated to my party was awesome, and when I noticed the kids had blew threw the pizza they give at the party, I went to ask her for a couple more and she had already placed the order for me (she saw how they wolfed it down and already knew).
Steve, Sandi and the rest of the crew at Lombard are amazing, and she wants her party here again next year!

If you enjoy rude people and horrible service this is the place for you. I’m a father who wanted to take his 4 year old to learn how to skate with her new roller skates that Santa brought her. After she fell a few times the great staff proceeded to raise their voice telling me to put her down. Obviously they have different parenting methods to deal with a crying kid on the floor who can’t skate. Other members of the family were treated very rude too. I could keep piling on however you get the theme of our experience.

Avoid this rink for birthday parties unless everyone invited is an experienced skater. The staff is not patient with first-​timers, and hugging-​the-​wall or stopping are not permitted ever. While I understand that this is for safety reasons, they could be nicer about it. Several of our beginning skaters sat out after a while because they got tired of the harassment. Also, be prepared for the teens working there to get nasty with your guests when they cannot get the ANCIENT lockers to lock. Finally, keep in mind that anyone can skate during the times designated for birthday parties. One lady goes there regularly to skate laps, and curses at the kids skating around her.

I give it a 3 star because the service received by the young lady at the concession stand. She messes up my order and then acts like I’m the one wrong. I know what I said and she has this nasty look on her face. The chips they give out for nachos are a tad stale. And I lost a quarter because the directions on the lockers are so faded you cannot read them. The key would NOT come out. Other than that this is a Great place to skate!!!

Best rink I’ve been to, and I’ve been to all in the area many times. The floor is perfect, Steve the manager is wonderful and knowledgable, and he will even replace your skate parts or fit you for new boots. Love this place!

This is the best rink in the Chicago area. Great prices, great environment. The floor is impeccably maintained, and Steve is the absolute authority on all things skating. The entire Chicagoland roller derby community gets their gear from him because he is so awesome. I’ve spent a fortune on skates for myself and my daughter and he’s never steered us wrong. If you have any skating question, this us where you need to be.

grew up going here in early 90s great memories. had my bday birthday party there and they put you in this giant roller skate and have your friends push you around the rink… the song DJ miko-what’s up was the jam that reminds me of that place

Okay let’s cut to the chase. This place would’ve been 2 stars if they remodeled. Still, not much. It looks like a 1990s roller rink. In addition, the DJ does NOT look like he wants to be there. Totally ignored me and my question on if he was going to play the songs I requested. Eventually ONE of my songs was played after 20 – 30 minutes of asking around. That’s only because another staff member went up to him. Also, the locker took my friends money (wouldn’t work) and I heard someone else say the same. I’m a nice person so, pros: the ticket lady was nice and welcoming.

The roller rink is really nice but I didn’t realize that it’s no fun to go there by yourself. If I had someone to roller skate with it would be allot better. I give it a three because when I called and asked the girl if it’s a good idea to go roller skating by yourself she said yes why wouldn’t it be? Maybe she likes skating alone but I didn’t.

Loved it here but I have to do a three start review. I love kids but this place is awesome but so many kids. I fell because of all those kids that’s couldn’t even keep their balance. Is hard to be roller blading with a bunch of kids that keep falling. But other than that is awesome the staff was really friendly. They should update their music.

Love this roller rink for weekend skates. Good hip hop/r&b music to get down to. I can appreciate the floor refs too. They’re actively engaged and keep order on the floor. Most other places the refs could care less. Affordably priced. If you come in September the prices are discounted for back to school. My only suggestion is the music cab get very lame during the week. They’d get higher attendance if they’d ramp up the hip hop.

Worst experience ever… unless you’re a strong skater you are apparently not welcome at adult skating on Monday nights. Staff belittled our whole group and allowed other patrons to yell at us for being in «their» lane. There are NO signs up telling you that specific areas are only for faster/​slower skaters, the whole thing was just ridiculous. The place itself is clean with ample parking but based on the absolutely TERRIBLE treatment we were subjected to by staff and patrons, you couldn’t pay me to go back here again. Next time I’m going somewhere that doesn’t take itself so seriously.

Lombard Roller Rink is the premier rink in the area, with a great floor space, knowledgable and friendly staff. It’s local family owned, and believes in providing a good value for the customers. Steve will gladly assist you with your Skate Shop needs and purchases as well, and made my purchase painless even afterwards helping me get my new skates tuned up just right.
The food prices at the snack bar are reasonable, with additional items available from vending machines.
Besides open skate sessions, the rink plays host to lessons, Zumba, and roller derby teams as well, most are available to the public.
ATM available if needed.
Lockers available for 50 cents.

Great place. Great party. Great time. All round great staff. Doesn’t necessarily mean they are the nicest but that is OK. Dealing with all the little kids and the parents that act like little kids, these folks have to be stern and strong to keep everyone happy and safe. They have plenty of experience dealing with people and do a top notch job keeping em’ safe not only skating, but making sure nobody walks off or whack-​jobs walk in. We had my daughter’s birthday party there on Super Bowl Sunday early afternoon and she came home from school on Monday the Belle of the ball. I highly recommend this blast from the past for everything. Date. Family outing. Birthday party. Way to go Lombard Roller rink!

Loads of fun for all ages and great way to bond with the kids in this age of technology or to let loose and get some exercise on adult nights without the kids. Premises is clean and wood floor is excellent, though a bit small, but worth it. The staff is friendly and is on high alert to keep everyone safe.
I purchased skates with Steve and they have some of the best, not to mention their expertise in finding what’s perfect for you and giving you a good deal. They want you happy and not just make a buck on you.
Great place! Been coming here for last two years and plan to for long time to come.

You wouldn’t think two late-​20somethings would be at a roller rink on a Saturday night. You would expect a bar, a club, a movie theater, maybe at a play or something…
But we like to just have fun together. And so it was that, given the task of picking our anniversary celebration activities, my husband decided that after our romantic Italian dinner, we should go rollerskating.
And it WAS fun. This rink is just your average skating rink — it reminded me a good deal of the one I frequented in Fort Wayne some 12 years ago, with the snack bar and the worn skates and so forth — but it was well taken care of, the staff was attentive, and the price was decent. And not only did we have fun, we got some good exercise in the process. :)
(And now my legs are sore and tired, and I am reminded that roller rinks are not entirely unlike highways with no lane markers, turn signals or on/​off-​ramps.)

We took a friend here last weekend for his 31st birthday. Not one out of our party of 8 has been on skates for at least 10 years (we’re all thirty-​something).
It was a BLAST! And cheap, too! Sadly no booze is served, but the Dr. Pepper is fresh and ready to be guzzled.
It’s $ 7 to get in, and $ 3 for 4 wheeled skates, more money for in-​line and speed skates, but not much.
The people watching is incredible! The people that are hardcore roller skaters are amazing to watch — I think a lot of these kids work at the rink, but regardless, they make roller skating look effortless.
We were there on a Saturday, and it wasn’t crowded at all.
If you have a purse or valuables of any kind, there is no where to stash it, unless you rent a locker, but you can only open it once and then you have to pay again. Kind of a pain.
Regardless, this was SO fun, and I’m dying to go back!
