This place was awesome. The staff is very attentive and consistently asks if every thing is good. It was made to order and fresh! They have chips and salsa when you eat in which I wasn’t expecting. Portion sizes are huge! I got a few meals out of it. I will definitely be back.

Overall it was pretty good. The staff is so sweet and attentive, a very warm and welcoming place. They have a moderate sized menu with good value. The Horchata was great. The salsa wasn’t very flavorful neither were the salsa they brought out with the food. The guac tasted great but was very thin and creamy like it had been thinned. The combination plate with taco, quesadilla and tamale was ok. The taco was great. The quesadilla wasn’t melted/​cooked all the way. The fajitas were pretty good. The door bell they had goes off every time someone comes in and it has a long longer progressive tone which gets annoying when you dine in.

Awesome food, great and super friendly staff! Highly recommend their tacos and skirt steak dinner! If you live in Wheaton or Glenn Ellyn call them up they might deliver to your location. Ordered many times, food arrived in time hot and fresh. I am yet to be disappointed. Love this place! !

I’ve eaten here several times. Food is good for what you pay. I do not recommend the salsa — but have enjoyed everything else that I have eaten here. I also recommend getting carryout as it is a greasy spoon. I do recommend the lengua (tongue) tacos, tamales, &/​or cheese queso’s — All were VERY good!

We LOVE señor Jalapeño’s! I work right down the street and we cannot get enough of the steak burritos! The prices are good for what you get and the staff is always really nice. We would order from there every day if we could.

The salsa was great very different. My husband and I liked it very much. We enjoyed the taco meals. My husband got steak and I got ground beef. Everything tasted great but there was a little too much seasoning in the beef. The staff was amazing. We felt welcomed and could tell that they really took pride in what they were doing. We will definitely go again when we are in the Lombard area.

Decided to try this place out, Mexican food cheap is all I can say that is nice. My coworkers ended up getting sick, and I thought the food was lukewarm at the best. Will not be back, so many other places that I would spend my money. Just glad I wasn’t the ones in the bathroom all afternoon. Stay away

The only time I used this place was for delivery several times. The order came cold. Never received the hot sauce after they asked us if we wanted it. Tried calling back, no answer. Food kind of pricey for what you get which isn’t a lot. I had the taco salad and it didn’t fill it to the top as another place does for even cheaper plus the quality of the meat from the other place was better.

I have been here several times. Each time the service and timing gets better. The food is really good, but the service is bad. Some of it is due to the language barrier and the other reason is they’re still working out the wrinkles of a new business.
Once they were out of guacamole??? hello there’s a Jewel right down the street! Another time the exhaust fan was on and it was freeeeeeeezing, but when when they shut it off it was smoky.
The food is authentic Mexican. Make sure you“re clear of what you want on your food. I said I wanted everything on my tacos and they Americanized it with cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce… yuck! I want cilantro and onion-​traditional Mexican. Right now I strongly recommend take out! Enjoy!

Leave your coat in the car if you don’t want it to smell like your dinner! It’s the kind of place you leave smelling like what you had for dinner. Consider take out?
5 stars to the exceptionally friendly staff. Amazing customer service. At dinner you are seated and order from a menu. I think at lunch you order at the counter.
The restaurant could use a good scrub. Sticky tables and icky baby high chair. Took a few baby wipes to get the salsa and other grime off!
The food is priced fair. Kind is like casual Mexican street food. No real speciality and everything is a bit bland. Good guacamole though!

For the prices, the food is OK. I had the steak dinner and it was pretty much what I expected. It was something I would order again if I went back. There were a couple small mistakes overall with our dinner. My wife’s burrito was sent back because they put tomatoes in it when she asked for no tomatoes. And my dinner was supposed to come with tortillas, although they forgot until I reminded them. Like I said, small mistakes. The salsa was a little odd for my taste. See my photo of it for more explanation. And lastly, the tables (sticky), bathroom and baby high chairs were not very clean. They could do a much better job with deep cleaning of the restaurant.
I am giving the low rating more due to the cleanliness than the food. I probably will not be going back. At least not anytime soon.

We’ve been driving past here for a couple of years and recently decided to stop in. There were two people waiting for take-​out, and no one eating in the restaurant.
I ordered a combination plate and they let me substitute, so I ended up with a taco (standard), enchilada (decent with a Verde sauce), and a quesadilla (the BEST) with a side of rice (bland, not worth it). My husband got a burrito (not extremely flavorful).
Let me tell you — we could have easily split the combo plate OR the burrito — both huge portion sizes.
They brought us chips/​salsa to the table. Chips were really good, salsa was a bit spicy!
Total cost was $ 17 (we got waters).
There was one guy cooking and he had headphones on. As we finished our meals, he asked (from the grill area) how everything was — seemed really nice.
The restaurant is clean, there is a TV in the corner, and overall a decent experience.
We’ll be back, but will probably stick with tacos and quesadillas — and split a plate!

Great food, good size portions and very friendly service. This is my dads favorite restaurant and he loves to chat up the servers and cooks. They’re always very nice to him. The chips and salsa are very good too. A great hidden gem!

It’s a small restaurant with good inexpensive food. Service is fast and the food is served fresh and hot. The Jalapeño Poppers were great.
I love Mexican food and have surely had better than at this place. But this place is worth giving a try.

I’ve been going here once a week for lunch for about 3 years. The food is good. There are new owners and the staff has completely changed but the menu remains basically the same. Prices can be a little high for lunch (wish they had a lunch portion menu), and the heat level can be inconsistent, but I guess that adds variety. I prefer the shrimp ala diabla, as well as the stuffed peppers.
The chips salsa are free, and while the salsa isn’t consistent it’s almost always been good, and at worst it’s acceptable.

Nice quick neighborhood Mexican place. We have really enjoyed their taco and fajita dinners. They are usually consistently good, but this last time around, they were awful. Not only did that get my husbands order completely wrong, but what I ordered the chicken tacos (which is what i normally order), were basically tasteless…
We will be giving Señor Jalapenos another chance, but cross your fingers that they were just having a bad day.
