Steakw’ch

Had the Pizza one, but I should have gone for something more exciting like the cheez-​whiz one. I had tried to get some from this truck for a few weeks, but they seem to always sell out in an hour or two (why not bring more??). In any case, I would have liked more sauce and mozzarella on it… I didn’t really notice the cheese at all even though it was advertised. The sandwich is a good size for the $ 8 I think I paid for it, and you do get a lot of meat which is pretty decent. I might try them at a far off time again, but nothing soon. Mostly curiosity brought me here (as with most food trucks)

Continuing my reviews of the food trucks outside my window on Dearborn and Madison… today I tried Steakw’ch for the first time. Having had some questionable results lately, I didn’t set my expectations too high, but was pleasantly surprised when I tried their sandwich. I got the Pizzaw’ch-Rib Eye Steak sandwich and really enjoyed it. It was not the best I have ever had but it was good quality and surprisingly was NOT dried out like many of the street vendor sandwiches tend to be. The price was a bit high ($ 9 each) but I am willing to pay a buck or two more if I know I am going to like it. They also had 2 other options, both steak with grilled onions and I think one had provolone and the other had some other topping.
I will definitely be back to try more. Not bad!
