Fischer

I contacted Fischer to help me correct a situation with my rain gutter at the second floor of my rental property.
The approx. 70 ft. run has two downspouts, one at each end. Very little water trickles out of the front downspout (facing the street). Most of the water pours out at the back downspout, next to the courtyard. I wanted more water to come out at the street end. I thought it was just a matter of re-​pitching the slope.
(I inspected with a mirror on a stick to make sure there were no obstructions inside the gutter that impeded flow to the front downspout.)
Mr. Fischer agreed it just needed re-​pitching. I also asked him to run a water test when done.
He insisted that was NOT necessary, that they would use a level. (I would later regret not being stubborn on that point).
The job was done the next day and I paid him around $ 450.
A hard rainstorm came 2 days later. Excited, I ran out in the rain to check results.
THERE WAS NO IMPROVEMENT. I called to complain and asked him to go see for himself. I could hear him turn around and ask «Jose» what happened. (So, apparently, Mr. Fischer does not follow up on his employee’s work). Mr. Fischer then explains to me that Jose says the roof? was «back-​pitched» and that Jose tried the best he could do.
I asked if they used a string (line) level, and Mr. Fischer said well, Jose used a level.
He did not say he would look at it, nor did he offer to try to fix it better.
It is UNETHICAL to proceed on a job that clearly will not achieve results.
Especially since the whole purpose was to improve flow to the front downspout.
If Fischer and/​or Jose had a hint that the job would be fruitless, they should have done the right thing, and not proceed when the «back-​pitch» became apparent. I would have appreciated the honesty to abort the job and paid them a reduced fee for initial consult and discovery.
I am a mature petite lady who should not (or even think to) have to climb a second-​story building to inspect contractor work. I wasted $ 450.
DO NOT TRUST this company. Fischer does not honor its work.

These guys do one hell of a job they get in and get the work done and everything is beautiful when they leave!!!
