One of the best Hawaiian bbq places we’ve been to! Their macaroni salad is so yummy! Deffintely will come back!

Have been to this spot quite a few times for lunch. Pretty good. Usually get the bbq chicken combo. Love the mac salad. Very simple but very good. I would like to give this place a 3.5 at least but I have to mention that the customer service has been bad. The last 2 times my family and I went for lunch we ordered from a lady named Robin. She never greeted us. Never smiled. Signed loudly because we took long to order I guess. And it wasn’t just that. She was annoyed at our questions and was down right rude. From beginning to end. She needs some serious training in customer service. Even my teenaged daughter noticed and said«wow, that lady was rude. She’s acting like her boyfriend broke up with her today». It’s too bad because it’s employees like this that keep customers away.

The delicious sweet garlicky smell of bbq was flyng in the air while I was getting new tires at the store across the street. The food there tastes better than before and has mahi mahi on the menu now. The meat used to be more on the dry side. One tip is to ask for more veggies since their plates usually have 90% meat with only a tiny bit of salad. The fried shrimp could use more flavors. Now its kinda blend and dry. But overall not bad considering the low price and long hours.

Great place to get some good clean food. Similar to LL Hawaiian. Everything tastes great and not greasy. But you have to go to Kauai to get the authentic Hi BBQ, this will do since the real thing is ~2500 miles away. Oh yes, portions are large.

**UPDATE** So in response to my last review: −3÷5 stars = A-OK –Good food –Reasonable prices -«A petty complaint» but not a lot of consideration for regular customers I returned thinking, perhaps I over-reacted. I genuinely enjoy their food and I still want to support this place. I was told, «because of a bad Unilocal review, we’ve cut our frequent buyers reward cards.» So in response to my only criticism being a lack of care for frequent customers, they’ve cut the program for frequent customers. Make of that what you will.

Yeah so I’ve been around the block a few times and know my Hawaiian BBQ rather well and this is really subpar bbq. Lady at the counter was nice, there were only 2 other small parties yet took almost a half hour to get our food. We got the Hawaiian bbq beef and was disappointed. Not cooked very well and a real lack of flavor. Their bbq sauce is really sweet with no teriyaki sauce in it and they don’t even have teriyaki available upon request. I’m sorry but real Hawaiian bbq has sweet ginger teriyaki sauce on it! Looks like I’m still stuck driving to L and L bbq in Goleta or making it myself.

Food is so good here that we’ve been back 3 times in 6 days. BBQ chicken is seasoned great and perfectly sauced. Chicken katusu is crispy and moist in the center. Sauces are delicious. Macaroni salad is amazing. Rice is perfectly cooked. One of our favorite places in Lompoc!

Don’t bother paying mind to all the negative posts about Aloha bbq’s mediocrity. The food is great, and the store manager deserves a raise. Don’t be fooled.

Ordered the #29 short-rib and beef combo. First let me say, I like a little meat with my fat BUT, this is what I got: over-priced, tough, stringy and extremely fatty meat with a so-so, minimal flavor. So much for Hawaiian BBQ! The following day I had Steak-ums and they were much better in comparison. Won’t be back!

I was concerned because of the low star reviews on this place but I decided to try it anyway and I’m happy we did because it’s different and very good. There’s no other place in Lompoc like this and I’m really happy it’s here. I had the grilled shrimp and it had good flavor and had a nice brown crisp to the outside that I wasn’t expecting. My boyfriend had the ribs and bbq chicken. The ribs were a little fatty but they are ribs after all and both dishes had good flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed it and we will definitely be back.

I don’t understand the low stars here! Wow! I have travelled all over the world with hundreds of stays in Hawaii. When we walked in, it was your typical small quick serve style restaurant. However, it was immaculate! The aroma just in the parking lot was inviting. Then you walk in and BAM!!! Delicious Bold Aroma! The food is cooked fresh to order by an obviously Hawaiian Grill Master. We carried the food home to eat. The short drive, with the wonderful aroma made us even hungrier. On first bite, I could close my eyes and imagine sitting in Honolulu’s International Marketplace!!! Bonus, the portions are huge! I will definitely go there again, and again. Recommend it to neighbors & friends. Treat out-of-town guests to QQ Aloha BBQ. I will even consider using them to cater a party! Don’t let the low stars hold you back. I am a trained Chef and know what I am talking about!

I love me some Hawaiian bbq and this place was horrible. I got the #20 which looked great on presentation but the Katsu chicken had no flavor and had a weird taste as if dropped in the fryer straight from the freezer. The Katsu sauce made me sick, the bbq chicken had absolutely no flavor what so ever, the rice tasted over cooked, and the macaroni salad had too much mayonnaise. If they don’t make some changes soon they will be closing their doors permanently. Not trying to give such a hard review but I’m actually feeling sick.

Had dinner here on Halloween. We were the only ones in the place. I was so excited to try it because I love Hawaiian food, and having one closer than Zoe’s would be amazing! Unfortunately, everything we ordered was so wrong.(Ok except the gyoza it was average.) The Katsu sauce and the BBQ sauce had some sort of just … Off taste to it. White rice was… Rice… And the Mac was average too, had more veggies and texture than Zoey’s does, which I enjoyed. The chicken was fried wonderfully, but the beef was so fatty and tough that it was stuck in everyone’s teeth. The portions were decent. I think what made the experience so bad was that the sauces were so… strange… Everything they served us that night required the sauces to be added to give the meat any type of flavor. So with bad sauces, we ended up with dry meat. To each their own, but I think I will take that drive to Santa Maria when I have a hankering.

The family and I have been here 3 times now and we love it. The chicken katsu and BBQ chicken are always delicious. The girls that work the counter are super nice and always welcoming. Prices are very reasonable especially for the amount of food you get. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars from me is the lack of pork dishes, usually a staple in Hawaiin restaurants. Add some pork and you get a 5!

The Good, The Bad and Ugly. Do I hear music? Entering around 5:30 or so they were pretty busy; mostly takeout. The cashier was quite perky and nice. Everything appeared in nice order and clean. These are always good things so kudos. They seemed organized and had it together. They were also making sure tables were cleaned quickly. The food came relatively quick so considering the number of people we saw coming and going another good thing especially if you are in a hurry. I commend them on these things. The bad and ugly … This is where it really gets important. The Food mind you I want good clean atmosphere and good service but food is what it’s about. I wanted to like it here… But nothing said wow and worse things just seemed to miss the mark. Let’s start with the Katsu sauce … It was so strong on a tomato flavor overpowered it and it lacked seasoning that most Katsu sauces have. I opted to mix the«Bbq» with the KATSU. The BBQ was also very weak. Chicken Katsu without a good sauce just doesn’t make the cut. Worse thing was the chicken left an after taste that was quite unpleasant like a fuzzy gunky taste. How’s that? The macroni salad again Hawaiian macaroni salad is typically the only macaroni salad I will eat but not this one. The best thing about the meal was the rice. I realize this is brutal and I hate doing brutal reviews on new places I always feel they have a settling in time. The Man had aloha beef and and he had no complaints but. As you know he will eat most things and if he doesn’t like it you know it’s really bad. I tasted his and it was ok but nothing spectacular. Meat was tender enough. Lompoc needs a variety of Restaurants and it needs them to do it all well the service, atmosphere, cleanliness, and Food! I wish this one well. I hope they read the reviews and and consider how they can do it better.

What kind of Hawaiian restaurant doesn’t have Kalua pork or Simin?! If you are in Lompoc and want Hawaiian food, it’s worth the drive to Santa Maria to go to Zoe’s BBQ.

Price for your combo meals were okay and fair for the amount of food but the quality of meat and flavor was lacking big time!!! The Kalbi ribs had no flavor, the beef was stringy and chewy and chicken was salty. I am hoping this is all due to being new and having to work out new business kinks. I may try again in a few weeks to give them time to work out the kinks. I have had many Hawaiian bbq’s and so far L & L seems to be the best. I was hoping Aloha was going to be their competition. Please correct the meat quality and flavor and I will happily change my review.

Went the day after grand opening. Tried calling to order but no answer. Showed up at 11:30 and I knew why they didn’t answer. Everyone in town must have been there. Waited about 15 – 20 minutes after ordering to get my food which wasn’t bad considering all the people. I got the Aloha BBQ mix and it was good. All the meat was moist and not over cooked, had full flavor, and was hot when I got it. The sides(rice and macaroni salad) were ordinary but the meat was excellent. I got mine to go but the inside of the restaurant looked nice and clean if you wondered about that aspect. Once the hype of a new place calms down I’m sure it will be even better. I will be back a few more times but for now a 4 of 5. Give it a try you will probably like it.
