I have had Darrell work on my projects several times since I found him. He is honest, trustworthy, attentive to detal, skilled, neat and a great personality. He quietly works and works until he is done. If he is not able to do something he tells me. I am glad he is here in Lompoc and that I can rely on him!

Very efficient and professional! He took care of all the small jobs that my husband kept putting off, in very little time! I was impressed with his handyman skills, knowledge, and experience. I’m calling him from now on! Don’t ask your husband to fix something, hang mirrors, assemble furniture, figure out how to install an air conditioner… Call Darrell instead! It’s much more pleasant that way!

I wrote my first review for Darrell and Traveling Toolbox in 2011 just after I bought my condo and found him on Unilocal.Since then, Darrell has done all of my condo projects. Most of the time, I’m not even there. I just leave him a key and a note, and I know it will be done perfectly. I can’t count how many times I’ve called him. He’s done big and small jobs. He always comes up with the best solution to a problem, and I trust him completely. His prices are extremely reasonable and I can pay with PayPal. He could charge a lot more for the great service and quality work that he provides. Lompoc, you are gaining the best handyman ever!

Compared to the others out there, Darrell definitly deserves five stars. Here’s why:
1) He’s honest. We talked about the scope of the job and pricing on the phone, and it didn’t change when he showed up to do the job.
2) He’s prompt. He agreed to come out on a Saturday morning, and he was on time and he worked, worked, worked, til the job was done. No cofee breaks or phone calls.
3) He’s convenient. Easy to talk to and accepts credit cards, and you don’t have to worry about the immigration status of any employees.
I’ll definitely be calling him for my next chore.

I used Darrell when he used to work in San Diego. He did a great job building pantry and laundry room shelves. Darrell was responsive to phone calls and emails. He was punctual. He did a professional job and cleaned up before leaving. Further, his rates were reasonable. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to a friend.

Darrell provided me with outstanding handyman service for many jobs done to my 2 homes in Fletcher Hills over a 3 year period. He is very professional and has a lot of skill in doing many different kinds of tasks around the house. His work is first class all the way and I recommend Darrell without question. San Diego’s loss is the Lompoc area’s gain. We started using Darrell shortly after moving to San Diego in 2007 and have used him countless times in 2 houses over the years. His work ethic is tops, his skills amazing, and his prices fair. What more can you ask when looking for someone to work in your home. He can do it all, and he is the first to tell you if he thinks a job is too complex for him. He won’t get in over his head and screw something up. I thought people in San Diego were exaggerating when I read his Unilocal and Kudzu reviews, but they weren’t, just telling the truth. Whatever you need done, call him first. Period. I’m crushed that he’s leaving San Diego.

Darrell was great. I had a chandelier and a new wall outlet installed. Estimate was fair, he showed up on time and was very professional. He was also very nice to my dogs. One is a puppy and a total terror. I will definitely be calling the Traveling Toolbox again for other small projects I need done.
