I originally was diagnosed with a torn labrum and had my surgery scheduled and time off from work approved. After my original surgeon saw my MRI he inform me that I needed to have my hip replaced. I was upset to say the least, not only was a a few weeks away from surgery but I was mentally prepared for that surgery, not a hip replacement. To add insult to my injury I was at the point where I was in constant pain. I was referred to Dr Loucks because he is a expert in anterior total hip replacement. I wanted to get back to my active life style and I felt too young to be having hip replacement surgery and wanted to feel my age as soon as possible. Not only did he get me in for surgery on short notice but it was also end of the year around the Holidays. He was compassionate of my pain. Which I truly appreciated. It has been 6 mouth since my surgery and I feel good as new. I’m back to working out 5 days a week and I’m able to hike again this year. I cannot thank Dr Loucks enough for his care and his expertise. I will eventually have to have my left hip replaced and there is no question Dr Loucks will be my surgeon.

If you need a total hip replacement, Dr Loucks is the best choice. He uses the anterior total hip (Medacta dual mobility device). This approach does not cut muscles or tendons, so allows for a faster recovery and significantly lower chance of dislocation. He is a leader in teaching this approach. I spent years researching approaches and devices and am so happy I went with Dr Loucks. He was patient with all my questions too.
