I’m sad about this place. I think it had potential, but just hasn’t been maintained or staffed well. The location is cool for hiking and relaxing but don’t expect to much more but just connecting with nature. The building style is also very cool. Now for the negatives… While not the resort’s fault, the lake is horribly low. Really a shame to see what the drought has done. So Lake front views are a bit of a stretch. The restaurant is the only game in town. Food was good(ordered off the menu) but that’s all. The staff was overwhelmed with the 6 tables. Gave us food covered menus which were different in the content. Took an hour to get served. The pool looks uncared for. The hot tub had a film of something floating on top. The activity room smelled really bad. The rooms have not been maintained. Water damage on ceiling, tub didn’t drain well, sink made some odd gurgling noise all night, and stained furniture. Anyway, I can’t say I’ll be back. Too far from anywhere for what it is trying to be. Oh, saw the various conference rooms located outside the main building. They looked pretty rough as well.

The staff blundered our reservations. After getting home we find two extra charges on our credit card. Really dysfunctional group at the desk.

Pros: Nice lobby, Native American themed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Trail maps at front desk. Pet friendly($ 25 fee). Nice, clean rooms with good views(second floor is better. Lakeside gets great sunrise views). Grounds were very tidy. Pool was nice(kind of indoors, with doors open). Hot tub too. Too hot to check that out! Cons: Wifi didn’t extend to rooms(our room at least). Dinner at the Sundance Café was ok but the water there is awful. They just got a new chef, but I wasn’t impressed. Water from the tap in your room tastes much better. AC didn’t cool as much as we’d liked. Overall: Very good experience with only(what we consider) minor cons. Who wants to spend all day here cooped up inside anyway!
