Very professional and very thorough

Barbara is great for taxes. Been coming here for years. Gets my full refund every time. Works to get the most refund.

Barbara is hard to reach and does not return calls or respond to mail. She made mistakes on two of my past tax returns and did not correct them. I ended up paying penalties on my taxes for Barbara’s mistakes. For these reasons I would not recommend her.

Barbara is a very nice lady who makes doing your taxes a painless experience. Her rates are reasonable, too. I’ve been seeing her 3 years now.
Here is why I’m moving on:
She isn’t too knowledgeable about property taxes.
She’s impossible to get a hold of. I called and left 3 messages, but didn’t hear back. I’m going somewhere else to do my taxes this year. I found them on Unilocal!I’ll let you know how that goes. Last year I called and her voicemail was full.
Not a great way to run a business.

I needed a pro to look at my taxes this year & found Barbara on Unilocal.It was a pleasure to work with her & she answered all of my questions with ease. Not only did she work me right in to her schedule, she provided excellent service. I referred my boyfriend & his associate… and they were happy too!

Barbara was a pleasure working with. There was some paperwork we needed to file with our tax information by a certain deadline but unfortunately our usual tax person couldn’t get back to us in time. I called Barbara and, not only did she help us file in time, but she always squeezed us before her normal hours began. A very friendly and knowledgeable person!

My husband and I went to Barbara last year for tax preparation and she was absolutely wonderful! Easy to talk to, very good at explaining our options and what to expect in the future, plus she gave us some very good advice for the following year. We’ll be back this year for sure.

When I see my doctor, I expect him to know all about my medical innies and outties and provide me the best treatment for whatever ails me. That’s why he gets the big bucks. When I see my tax preparer, I expect them to know all my financial innies and outties and get me the biggest bang for my buck. That’s why I’ve been going to Barbara Marx for over a decade. She doesn’t need to do an MRI every time she sees me and she’s never had to say «Just relax and bend over», or «Spread ‘em!», thankfully. She knows my finances better than I do. So it’s not a time-​consuming financial review each and every year with a warehouse tax preparer and I’ve never suffered a Turbo-​tax glitch wipe-​out of everything I just inputted into the software. She takes care of me almost like it was her own money (part of it is but it’s a write-​off (wink))
Like you, I like money not because of it’s inherent «evilness» ala «Money is the root of all evil», but because it buys me things like food, clothes, gas and, most of all, freedom. I want as much freedom as possible. Don’t you? Yes, of course you do. If you want the most bang for that hard-​earned buck, you want the Tax Man to only get what’s coming to him, no more, no less (careful with your response, you don’t want an audit, do you?). Barbara will ensure that that’s the case and you can put your worries aside.
So go ahead and buy that cute, expensive Nanette Lepore skirt you’ve been saving for. Or go ahead and have that 3^rd Grey Goose martini, you’ve earned it, now enjoy it. Yee-​ha!
