Billings Ace Paint & Hardware

I have been a loyal customer for 3 years. We purchased our XL green egg, patio furnishings, heatings etc… NEVER AGAIN will my family EVER support this business. The owner/​manager whoever the douche bag is driving a white truck started yelling at people/​cars to move. Hey you jerk, it’s the back alley where YOU were blocking it. You don’t own the streets, Dick. Never mind that I’m 8 months pregnant, you coward. I would do anything to return all the shit I bought from you! I feel bad for your employees, they are obviously what keeps the business going, you are the weak link.

Don’t go here the manager with the receding hairline and lumberjack beard is an asshole. Doesn’t care to help you and acts like he’s too busy to deal with your needs. The staff is kind though and they walk around as if they were scared of him… Too scared to even consult with him when a customer like me has a question or needs assistance… I hope he’s not the owner. If I were the owner I’d fire him for scaring my customers away… Save your time, money and go elsewhere. Besides their product is cheap and over priced. Go to LOWES or HOME DEPOT you will at least get your money’s worth. If I could give ZERO stars I would.

Best staff of any retail store on 2^nd street! I’ve never had a negative experience at this location, and they almost always have exactly what I need.

I would HIGHLY recommend that you take a drive and go elsewhere. This store DOES have a huge selection of just about everything you can think of, however the quality of the stuff is SUPER cheap. I live right down the street and used to come here on a regular basis. But after months of over priced cheap junk that would BREAK the same WEEK of purchase. I am fed up and will shop elsewhere. Its WAY overpriced because of it’s location and the stuff there is POOR POOR quality.

I don’t go to this place a whole lot but I do go here whenever I need something in a pinch. The other day that happened to be some Liquid Wrench to try and loosen some rusty bolts on a boat motor and a roll of packing tape to ship some packages. Neither item was cheap but I knew they’d have both so I could get them quickly. The service there is friendly and they have a lot of stuff in there for a smaller sized hardware store.

Few moments where you get personal service. Where they offer the same prices big chains do. Yet they are local. Anyone can walk in and feel not. dumb because you know little, they encourage questions. This is your place. People visit and support local!

The prices aren’t Walmart low, but then again most Walmart shoppers wouldn’t fit between Billings’ aisles upstairs.
I like this Ace in particular because
a) even though I’m sure they’d rather be selling a $ 400 barbecue, they’re nice to me when I come in just to get some keys done. You don’t need to hunt someone down and stand behind them as they grind a key, sighing heavily.
b) every holiday season they have a cool window display of miniature, animated carnival-​type ornamental things, the kind you’d see under a Christmas tree or the back of a evil, perverted old man’s van just before he slams the door shut. (I’m OK now). Even though It doesn’t really relate to hardware. They should paint all the people with red shirts with keys in their hands.

Needed some speciality fasteners for an automotive repair job. Found just what I needed, for $ 0.33 and $ 0.37. Nice to have a good hardware store in the neighborhood. Home Depot and Lowes don’t deliver this kind of small town service. Thanks Ace!

This REALLY BOTHERED me about a worker there. Don’t know the guys name. hes a young looking guy with light brownish– medium length beard that has a MAJOR ATTITUDE PROBLEM WITH ME. I get you had to work on Christmas Eve and life must be so miserable, but please leave that at home. You were unfriendly, and made me feel uncomfortable.
I really like the management and most of the associates are nice– they always make it #1 for customers and make sure you are taken care of. That is why I still give a 5 star rating. Wouldn’t be fair to lower the stars bc of that guy. Please check him. Thanks.

Thank you Jeremey for putting 2 fans back for me during thie heat wave a week ago. I was worried someone was going to put them back on the floor. Nope sitting behind the cash desk. Did I mention it was the 2^nd time this store saved our asses during a heat wave?! Well they did! Leave it up to a mom and pop shop to have some fans left. Thank you thank you! We love you our dogs love you!

A guy gave me great service today, way above and beyond. I had a problem with a key and he went out of his way to help me make sure the new ones would work. He even cut the keys on 2 different machines just to make sure they would work perfectly. Old-​fashioned customer service makes the world a kinder, gentler place.

Might possibly be the sorts service ever. I called on the phone with a list of items I needed to paint my house. Once I picked everything up, they pretty much rushed me out. Long story short, they gave me a bizarre mixture of the wrong items, all un returnable. $ 350 lost, total scam. Ganahl lumber is open Sundays as well.

The best hardware store I have ever visited —so many odd and neat items it’s a pleasure walking through the isles –
staff was friendly and they know their inventory – and lo what in inventory — stuff that you never imagine you needed you would buy
And of course it never hurts that they have a great variety USC paraphernalia

This place has everything and I’ll go here in a heartbeat over a large hardware store.

Excellent Ace Hardware in Long Beach! These guys seem to have everything and will order whatever they do not have.
Most importantly, they have excellent customer service and actually know where stuff is in their 2 story store! I wish they were closer to me, but now I have a spot I’m adding to my 2^nd street cruise when rolling LB!

I have an affinity for small town feel hardware stores; especially those of the «Ace» variety. This joint packs a whole lot of goods in a very small high rent district in Long Beach. They even have an upstairs where I was delighted to find seed packets you don’t find in the Lowe’s, Home Depots and OSH’s of the world.
I left happy with an unusual packet of round gourds; can’t wait to propagate and reap the rewards of my harvest! Happy Fall is just around the corner!

A hardware store on 2^nd Street? Among all the restaurants and little shops? Yep! If you live in the area, this location is very convenient for those little needs that seem to pop up at the most inopportune times. Stopping here instead of driving to the nearest Home Depot can be big time saver!

Most prices are higher than the typical home or department store
Tiny store is overcrowded. They have an upstairs and the ceiling in the store is pretty low.
Go here if:
~ you are in the area and need a quick _​_​_​_​_​ (fill in the blank– hammer, screw, bath mat, key made).
~you are walking down 2^nd street and see something fun on sale outside
Don’t go here if:
~ you are claustrophobic.
~ you plan on purchasing many items or undertaking a large project and don’t want to spend more than you need to.
Minus one star for price. Minus another star for cramped, crowded environment.
