I’m all for local businesses that have good product at great prices. There are definitely no frills at this place but all their sandwiches and salads are fresh, fully packed, and for super cheap. They take debit/credit cards too so it’s an easy choice when you’re on the west side! My fav sandwich is #14, turkey ham and bacon. The bacon is super crunchy and they put a lot of it I’ve also tried their Chinese chicken salad. Definitely not what I expected. It came with fresh iceberg lettuce, tomato, cucumber, sesame dressing, an a bunch of chicken on top. They pack on the chicken so it fills you up Btw, they have some shaded seating and extra parking in the back!

I have mixed feelings on this one. I was here a few months ago and the sandwich was outstanding. I ate here today and I didn’t finish my sandwich. It appears the turkey was frozen, but can’t say for sure. The turkey just had a very odd taste to it and was very very wet. I could tell when they were making the sandwich that the turkey didn’t look right. Got about 5 inches into my 12 inch sandwich and couldn’t do it anymore, I had to throw it away. All ladies inside were very nice and very sweet. Sorry for the review ladies, but something was up with that turkey.

Love this spot! In and out in less then 3 min! And I didnt need to call ahead. Fantastic! I’ve been coming here about once a week. Sandwiches are still great consistently and staff is very friendly and I have had no issues with missing additional items.

I had the roast beef dip. I liked the employees. The sandwich only came with a small amount of meat. Don’t get me wrong it was good, but you may want to add some vegetables so you can get full.

I finally made it here. This is definitely a spot for longshoremen and truckers. If the line at Santa Fe Imports is too long, then you know that Bud’s Sub is your sandwich destination. I ordered a 12″ sandwich and it delivered on taste and size. There are a host of sandwiches that I’d like to try here. The lady behind the counter piles on the meats. Sure, cured meats are not good for you, but it’s okay to try them every now and again. If i had a few bucks to spend, I’d definitely go with Bud’s over one of the chain sandwich spots. the service is good, the sandwiches are flavorful and the service is great. Keeping West Long Beach in business is my motto. Bud’s Sub is one of the spots.

I was craving a sandwich, and unfortunately Santa fe importers close at 5 pm. And I wanted something other than Togo’s. So I found Bud’s on Unilocal! I arrive and im greeted by the lady working there. It’s a small little place. To be honest I was not expecting much upon arrival. I told her I was a first time and she gave me the recommendations. I ended up with a number 14.(Ham, turkey, bacon, cheese) sounded amazing. She starts making my sandwich, and make it exactly how I wanted.(I can be a little picky) But man… she piled on the turkey ham and bacon! I had plenty of bacon on my sandwich. And she asked me if I wanted more ham and turkey… she actually offered more meat… wow haha. I said sure… The ingredients were fresh as well. And here’s the good part… the sandwich was actually really good. And she wrapped it up nicely for me… I actually left a tip. She told me she hoped I enjoyed. And I sure did. a foot long sandwich and a bag of chips for 9 dollars. Wow can’t beat that. I will definitely be back :)

Boss brought back sandwiches from this ‘hole in the wall’. Haahha always my favorite. Roast beef actually aged and the fresh crusty baguette was perfect. Me thinks the secret sauce might have saracha?

Quick review Quality 5/5, great for the price, its fresh, made to order Service 5/5, I love these ladies You get a 8″ sub, not a 6″ sub like the other places. Add pretty much anything for .05 — .15 cents. Can’t beat it. Been coming here for 6 years.

Smallish sandwich shop, close to my work. Prices are fair, especially given the quality of the sandwich. Rolls /bread are always soft, fresh and tasty(unlike the bread at another shop just a half block south if you know where I mean). I like to get a large veggie works sub on a wheat roll with jalapenos and avocado. Really good $hit!!! One of my other favorites that I’ll get on occasion is the Chicken Teriaki bowl(ask for steamed veggies on it). The folks here are really nice. It can get busy and parking can be a challenge. Small outdoor seating /dining area if you like when the weather is nice. A lunchtime favorite of mine!!!

Small sandwich shop in an industrial area on a corner lot. Don’t blink cuz you’ll miss it. Look for the blue window canopies. The shop has been in biz as far back as I can remember, despite direct competition nearby. Keep in mind that it’s not a fancy or trendy shop, but a good place for a quick lunch. There is cool, shady seating in the back to eat & relax. A lot of regular customers come here and order to go. The sammiches are made on a soft french roll(white or wheat) w/loads of quality deli meats piled on. I like #8 Turkey & Cheese, but everyone has their own fav. Prices are very reasonable. The nice lady that runs the shop doesn’t say much, but she works hard to keep her customers happy. Be nice & show some respect. She is deserves it. Check it out and hope you like it.

Bud’s has a variety of subs that you can choice from. The quality is a better than Subway. They do not bake their own breads but they do buy it from an quality Italian bake shop. I prefer the wheat over the white bread. The small sub is 8″ vs the large which is 12″ The prices vary from $ 4 -$ 8. All COLD subs include lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayo and mustard. They also offer oil/vinegar, salt/pepper and«special sauce.» I have no idea what their special sauce is, sorry folks. Their bacon is quite crunchy which I absolutely love. It’s really hard to find a place that serves bacon the«Janet» way which is extra crunchy and thick. Not the thin ones you get from McD, J&B or Carls. They also offer about 8 different salads using the iceberg bag lettuce. Buds also offer«specialty» items like their chicken teriyaki bowl/plate, soup and hot dogs. I’ve had a bite of the teriyaki chicken and its not that bad and the size is reasonable. The place can be busy so call in ahead. They usually have 3 people working, 2 making the food and the owner working the register. They have beverages and chips as well. The prices on these items are not listed so I never know how much they cost until I pay. They do have a small private lot(limited) and lots of street parking along with a covered outdoor seating area. I usually take my food back and eat at work but I see plenty of people eating out there during their lunch hour. There are two entrances, one off of Santa Fee and the other through the parking lot. I’ve only consumed #1, #2, #3, #14, #31 and #32 all of which are good and add variety from the typical Subway or miscellaneous sub shops nearby. They always make it fresh and you can watch them as you go. My order can get complicated, especially if I split the large with a coworker. So for me it goes EASY lettuce, LOTS of pickles, mustard and mayo, END. But if I split it goes EASY lettuce on my half, regular lettuce on the other, LOTS of pickles on both, mustard and mayo on the entire sub, tomato/onion on the other half, add olives on the«healthier» side and oh yeah add more pickles on my side. Oil/vinegar on theirs. I put them through hell but they always come out smiling. The one thing though, I wish they wouldn’t charge me for extra pickles or miscellaneous goods if I decide to one day eat them. Can’t I just sub it out :( Overall good food and service. *Their special sauce is ITALIAN dressing.*

One of my favorite places to grab lunch in the LB area! There’s over 40 different sandwiches… several salad options… chicken teriyaki… hot dogs, soup & chili! Sammies can be customized to your delight. My favorite is the club sub which is turkey, ham & bacon on wheat bread.(They’re very generous on their meat) Avg prices for a small sandwich is around $ 4 but usually I pay around $ 7 for a larger size. Service here is really quick and the workers here are friendly & nice! Will be back at Bud’s!

This is one of those small sandwich shops everyone loves to find. Every sandwich I’ve had there has been great but the best of all has been their chicken salad. They take real oven roasted chicken and chop and shread it into manageable pieces. It’s then mixed with all the fixins and topped off with the crisp crunch of fresh chopped celery. You have to ask to make sure they have it. Its so good they run out! I usually get mine with a sprinkling of pepprocini peppers just to add a little kick! The ladies in the shop are awesome. They make great sandwiches and always have a smile for their customers. Give it a try, you’ll be glad you did!
