They make some sandwiches hours before you order it, and they just put it on the hot tray to keep it warm. I usually like the crispy lettuce at carl’s jr, but this one is just dead because it was probably taken out of the fridge hours ago. The employees here have the worst attitude ever. You are not the one taking finals? Why you gotta be so mad all the time? I have another carl’s jr by my house and there is a huge difference in quality, fast food restaurants are supposed to be standard(I mean all this stuff is shipped frozen to you, you just cook it right?), but this one surprisingly can manage to make below average food compared to a fast food restaurant. If you ask for extra ketchup or some other sauce you get dirty looks from the employees here Definitely wins the worst fast food joint on campus award!

I give 3 stars because by principle I can’t give a fast food joint anything more. Located on campus, I like to come here and grab me some breakfast when i have time to spare before class. The breakfast sandwiches come out hot and greasy. I get their breakfast combo: sandwich, potatoes and choice of drink for under $ 4. They charge an extra $ 1 if you pay with card.

This is one of many fast food restaurants on the Cal State Long Beach campus. THEGOOD — There are cheeseburgers. I like cheeseburgers. — I like chicken sandwiches, too. THEBAD — This is one of the limited choices in dining options. The powers that be want the student body to be fat. Fatty fat fat fat! Mmm, fries. — You don’t eat here for the service. — On several occasions I have ordered burgers and sandwiches with wilted, darkened, and slimy lettuce. Yum. THEUGLY — The employees seem unhappy. Sad. — This Carl’s Jr. is located in a very small cafeteria. It get’s very crowded during lunch time.

Fast food chain = nuff said. Fast food chain that normally has free refills but wont do it because the manager is a …(hmmm need a polite word)…thrifty…person. The other fast food chains next door are totally cool with refills if you bought a beverage from them, so get your solids here and walk 5 feet over to Subway/El Pollo Loco and ask for a beverage. Sheesh, a soda is a big cash cow, the average one refill is not gonna cut into your 1.60−2.00 profit for selling a beverage.

i tried something new today: the chicken tender wrappers. It’s not as big as in the ad and the chicken tender doesn’t stick out the top of the tortlila like in the ad *disappointed* :(but it tasted great with buttermilk ranch sauce! Aside from the size, the quality seemed good and fresh but for some reason it had a slightly bitter aftertaste =/It also stuck to the wax paper wrapper. so…I dunno what to say. You should try it, maybe it’s just me having that aftertaste In conclusion, I think I’ll stick to my cheap spicy chicken sandwich for 99 cents. :)

A fellow Unilocaler friend: What! Why are you rating a fast food chain four stars? EV: I’m not rating the food. Everyone knows what the food tastes like.(Definitely not whale, but possibly Mr. Ed). YF: Ha ha, you’ve been reading too much about the threads about that one joint in Santa Monica. I actually looked them up and looks like there are some serious haters and rightfully so. EV: Yeah, I saw it on the news. Definitely not going there. But you know what? Seems like the news broke out on Unilocal first. Does that mean Unilocal is becoming the go to source when it comes to breaking news about food like TMZ is to the next celebrity overdose? Oops, I meant celebrity who died of ‘natural causes’. I guess that’s why they say natural causes now because if you weren’t drugged up, then you haven’t really lived. YF: So when are we going to hear about your death? EV: WTF, dude? I guess I could say it would be from a mix of the stuff I’m about to clog my arteries with. Hey! Stop getting off topic, I’m trying to inform people why I am giving this joint 4 stars. YF: My bad, I thought you were going to say something along the lines of some sexual innuendo when you died, like suffocation from being sat on or something stupid like you always do. EV: F**k dude, it’s late, I really want to write this. Can’t you see, I’m trying to be a good little Unilocaler. STF man and let me write it. YF: a;lgkh aweosp;odfhirnj;wqgtihag t EV: Alright man, you need to leave now. I’m tired and I have to get up early tomorrow to meet up with my personal trainer. YF: Alright, see you tomorrow. Call me later and let me know where you want to go eat. EV: Alright. See ya later. I’m going to the Shabu Shabu UYE in LA tomorrow night, let me know if you want to carpool out there. Oh, crap it’s past midnight. **shakes clutched fist– darn you Unilocal** YF: Oh yeah, I thought you hate driving out there? EV: I don’t anymore, I think I’ve been missing out for being a lazy driver. ALRIGHT, SEEYA, I gotta finish this. So this is basically why I’m giving this place a 4 star review. I’m a typical consumer. In case you haven’t seen me, I’m swollen(mostly from hives) my nice way of saying fat to myself. Or as my sister in law said– puffy. I’ve gone to this location numerous times. The lot is clean and they have just remodeled the inside of the place and gave it an old fashioned burger joint feel. The people who work here are very nice, especially this lady named Carmen. It’s not too often that you see a person working in a fast food restaurant actually having a really good rapport with the customers. She’s really super sweet and what can I say, I actually like it when she calls me sweetie. You can tell she’s genuine. I stopped her one day and told her that she’s a very nice person and that I think she’s doing a great job. She said that she does care about the people that come in and that she will treat them really well otherwise the place wouldn’t be as busy as it is. She also said, why treat them bad that would make no sense. But see does make cents and dollars actually– it’s all about customer service. If you sat and dined in for a moment you can actually tell who the regulars are because right when they walk in, they try to spot her to say hello. They even spend the time chatting with her about their day or something that just happened. This location does get busy during the lunch hour, however they’re really fast with getting the food out. Duh, fast food.(Do’h, I can’t believe I wrote that, **shakes head**). The drive thru does get backed up but there’s plenty of room to park and wait in line. CJ’s is in the same plaza as the Cal Worthington Ford dealership(I feel bad for the guy every time I see his commercials. I can almost see it in the near future that the advertisers are going to put subtitles underneath because he’s really hard to understand). So the moral of the story– there are a few gems out there in the fast food world who don’t get the shout out they deserve. Thanks Carmen! I hope your boss gets to read about this.
