My boyfriend and I ventured over here to watch Paddington in the park, only to find that because of the recent power outage, the movie had been cancelled. No matter! We still had our food on a blanket and watched a movie on his phone. It was a rather quiet park, aside from the fact that it is directly adjacent to the 710 freeway. We will be back when they’re having another movie in the park. What a nice idea for date night!

Nice family park, well kept — I like bringing my kids here. They have a garden area with plants the community center is growing. But as another reviewer said always be aware of your surroundings. It’s does have a running/walk trail if I ever decide to do it. They have an enclosed space for special occasion rentals and BBQ pits.

This park is gorgeous. The city did a really good job of providing a nice park for the families in the community. You have the beautiful scenery of the trees with the big tall buildings as a background. It really feels like an urban oasis. The ice cream truck goes by and I very much enjoy my ice cream or chips sitting under a tree.

This is a nice neighborhood family park that’s meant specifically for children, hence, called the children’s park. I think as rough as the neighbors«may» have appeared in 2010 to the visitors from OC, that may have been an occasional instance taking place. There will always be those sitting around in any park, Belmont shores, Huntington beach, Santa Barbara doing what shouldn’t be done and I love the ocean so I’ve seen some things, I’m not condoning it around children or anyone where it shouldn’t take place outside of their own privacy, but i say if they stay in their place on their side of the park or corner and the rest of us enjoy our little ones play and laugh and run as they should be able too, it should be no problem. If it bothers you, yes would be great for you to leave or if you are very disturbed and brave, called the PD, they are only 1.5 blocks away and very willing to scoop up anyone acting out or causing disturbances. The four star rating is due to the park not having enough benches around the kids main playing area, but they make up for it with squirrels living there that seem to want to eat right out of your hands :) I will visit some time again in the near future.

Nice clean park. Have seen LBPD here more than once moving out some of the local homeless community. Never had any issues, and at least it is not ruined with graffiti like other LA area parks.

I took my 3 year old niece and 6 mo old nephew to this park, up the street from my building. The park itself is very pretty and huge, with two playgrounds, a rec center and a lot of space to run around. HOWEVER, the down side is that the immediate surrounding neighbors are rather rough and some of the kids were very aggressive. I also saw a couple smoking pot and blocking their joints from viewing using their baby stroller with the baby in it. If you are in the area, i would take the kids to Shoreline Park, Rainbow Lagoon or Mother’s Beach instead.
