Categories: Gyms , Trainers ««6/29/2011I have been coming to this Curves for 4 or 5 years. I like this place, I am a bit self conscience about my body, so tbe fact that there are no mirrors or men is a plus for me. I can pretty much come in and work out in whatever I happen to have on, jeans. shorts, sweats. I always get greeted with Hi Patty, as I walk in the door! The staff is always ready to help newbies out with the machines, chat, turn the radio up or down. Sure, they sell products there, IE: Avon, Curves products, this is a place for women, why wouldn’t they sell products to them? The machines are Not dirty, I have seen the staff wipe them down. Ok, maybe the carpet could use a shampoo, but I don’t care about the carpet, the only thing that touches the floor is my shoes. It has been about 2 years since they did away with the heart rate break, IMO, if I am Breathing and feel ok? I know my heart is fine and doing just what it’s supposed to do. Everbody who wants to, can stop and take 20 seconds to get their heart rate, there is a clock on the wall with a second hand, easy peasy. :)

Went to this gym last night because for some reason my Curves on South St. had a sign posted saying«Emergency.Gym Closed» My husband googled and found another location for me and I zoomed over to this location. Upon entering, I did not know if it was a curves or a horrible gym from the 70’s. The carpet was stained, the machines were dirty and the whole place just seemed to be a spot for them to sell their items. If you are a member of Curves, you know how they work so you can identify with this next statement… As i worked out on the machines. the music continually played and there was no prompting for you to step away from the machine and take your heart rate(very important!). After about 20 minutes. I made up a lame excuse and high-tailed it right out of there!
