Dell’s TV Services

Don’t be deceived by how this place looks… Their work was fast and sound! I went because several (yes, several) friends recommended this place, and it did not disappoint. In three days, my big screen was back up and running with perfect picture and sound.

My 13 month old Samsung 55 inch LED UHDTV decided that it was done being seen and would only be heard (the picture went blank but the audio continued to work.)

I found 4 ½ star rated Dell’s TV service on Unilocal.I dropped off the TV on Tuesday afternoon and got a call on Wednesday night to let me know that the repair could be completed for $ 185 (cash only!) and the TV would be ready the next day. I returned to Dell’s on Thursday afternoon where I was assisted by Don who cheerfully explained the repair to me (he repaired the main board chip) and helped me load the TV into the backseat of my aging Jeep Grand Cherokee. Don even reminded me to drive carefully on the way home! Great quick service, reasonable pricing and a 10 minute drive from home. If this TV (or any other TV in my house) needs to be repaired, I will definitely return to Dell’s!

Have a Sony TV that needed original remote control and some instructions on how to view screen.
When I got home, it was easy to set up thanks to the shop owners explanation.

Dell totally hacked my piece of crap yet overpriced nearly new Jambox which had broken because the charger plug had broken off inside. He figured out how to open the thing and jury-​rigged a charger. Definitely not as pretty as it used to be, but it works again.

Went to this place because of Unilocal and I’m glad I did. The two men who spoke to me were nice and told me how to fix my tv, what I needed and how to access the area. Part cost me $ 35 and 10 minutes of my time. Thank you Dell’s TV Service!

Real honest guy. Brought in a TV that had multiple problems. He fixed one of the issues and told me if the other problem comes up and I don’t like it, I can bring it back. Sure enough, he kept his word. I don’t have that TV anymore but I know I didn’t get ripped off.

My 4 year-​old Sony Bravia 40″ just stopped turning on recently and from various reading on the internet it seemed like it could be something that was fixable so I did a search for TV repair near my area. This place had the highest marks by far so I was willing to give them a try. I called them when they were supposed to be open but i just kept getting voice mail. After a few tries I finally left a message, but when I didn’t receive a call back after a few hours I called them back and someone finally answered. The person had a thick Vietnamese/​Cambodian accent but I was able to communicate the problem and when I said I couldn’t bring the TV into the shop he said he’d come by. So we set a time between 5:30 — 6pm for that evening. When 6 rolled around without any calls I called the shop and some other guy answered and said he had no idea where that person I’d talked to was and that there was no way to reach him. Sigh, all I could do was continue to wait.
At about 6:30 I kind of gave up, but 5 minutes later my doorbell rang and it was the guy. He bustled in, kind of out of breath, and took a look at the TV. After some cursory checking of the outlets, etc. he said he’d have to take it back to the shop. It was definitely a power problem but he didn’t know if he needed to replace just a small thing or the main board. He said if it was the main board it could be kind of pricey but he didn’t say how much; he just said he’d call me and let me know. He called me at about noon the following day and said that it had been the main board and he happened to have that part in the shop so he went ahead and replaced it and it was working fine. All told, the repair ended up costing $ 285, $ 35 of it the transport cost to and from his shop. I was under the impression that he’d let me know how much it would be before he went ahead with the repair, but since it was still less than buying a new TV I was OK with it. Not sure how I would’ve felt if the cost was a lot more and I didn’t get the option to say whether it was OK or not to go through with the repair.
So he said he could come by at 5:30 to drop the TV off and I said fine. Well guess what, AGAIN he was late, and same deal when I called the office to ask where he was. This really irked me, as I HATE it when people are flaky. He called me at 6pm and we had a bit of miscommunication where I thought he was saying he’d already dropped my TV off when he was really saying he was going to drop it off – he seemed harried again and his English seems to go out the window when that happens. He finally got to my place around 6:30, plugged the TV in and everything’s fine. He’s a nice guy but this communication/​time issue with him really bothered me. I’m not sure if I’d use them again, but I didn’t put 2 stars because this is my ONLY experience with a TV repair place and I’m not sure if it is any better anywhere else!
Bottom line: be prepared for some communication issues, probably better if you can take your TV in, and CASH ONLY.

I was given a Samsung that was slow to turn on, and shortly died.
I took it to Dell, he told me what it would likely be and what it would cost. Called me a few hours later, it was done and cost was as he estimated.
Perfect!

My Panasonic VCR started not taping, and then eating tapes. So I called Dell’s. He was here the next day, and fixed my VCR within a week. He picked it up and brought it back — — I don’t mess with electrical things or electronics. Very satisfied with the service and the work he did. Would recommend him highly.

My 3 yr old Samsung TV started to act up and I called Dell’s TV repair and spoke to Dell. He was very nice and came over within 2 hrs to inspect my TV. He stated he needed to take it to his shop to diagnose the problem. He called first thing the next morning with the problem solved. His price was very reasonable and I approved the repair. I had my TV later that day! Excellent service and a very honest owner! I recommend Dell’s TV repair service highly!

I called another TV shop, explained my problem and they told me about Dell’s and said «…he probably has the parts in stock and can fix it.» I called earlier today and they came out the same day! For my problem he actually replaced the parts on the board rather than replace the board. I couldn’t believe it! The repair worked and we’re up and running again just a few hours after it quit. He was very nice and took the time to show my four boys around the inside of their TV, very cool!
Thanks to the other TV shop for the referral. Dell’s will be my first call in the future. I really like doing business locally with small businesses when I can and Dell’s is a local Gem! A very nice man making a living in his community.

Dell’s Is a super honest and competent shop. Took my Vizio TV to him that would not turn on. He kept it and ran it for 3 days. There was nothing wrong with it. He charged me $ 38. He could have ripped me off but he did not. The problem was my house main circuit breaker needed to be switched off and on. It had been decades since it had been turned off and had built up corrosion.
I am taking this piece of junk Visio in tomorrow again to Dell’s because many months later the screen is getting dark in areas. This most likely will be the end for me and Vizio, but maybe Dells can fix it. Vizios are very cheaply made and the repairs are either inexpensive or the same price of a new TV.

Great place!!! I’ve been coming here for YEARS! Stereo, TV, tape player, VCR: he’s fixed them all with honesty and professionalism! HIghly recommended. I live farther now and STILL make the drive to him! Great!!!

My Sony WEGA Projection TV went out on me last night. I called this morning and he was able to stop by after I got off work at 5. It took him less than a half hour to diagnose and fix my TV. The projection bulb was bad. He definitely knows his business and charges a very fair price. I will recommend him to any of my friends that have TV problems. Thanks again Don!

Let me say that he is a really nice guy and I am sure that he does a great job with TVs. However, my experience with my stereo was far different.
I took my receiver in, thinking it might have a short or some other issue, because the sound quality started getting weird — going in and out, echoey, extra bass-​ey when DJs on radio were speaking, etc. I took it in, and Dell plugged it into his own speakers, then stated that it was fine, that I needed new speakers and nothing was wrong with the receiver. He advised me that speaker repair is pricy and that I might just consider new ones. Charged me only $ 5 to look at it, since he didn’t think he could do anything about it. Fair enough.
So, I buy brand new speakers and guess what. .. they still sound echoey, extra bass-​ey on some vocals and when DJs are speaking. Hmmm. .. After some research, I ascertained that what is probably going on has to do with the wiring connectors on the back of the receiver and I cleaned them, but they are still not sounding right.
I am still not sure what the problem is, but it doesn’t really seem like Dell knew either — although he is in the business of stereo repair as well as TV repair, Will try my luck elsewhere.

Dell is impressive! Our Samsung flatscreen stopped working (no power, would not turn on) and Dell was at our home within the hour. House call was only $ 25 so did not need to bring the TV anywhere. After 30 – 45 minutes, he had our TV good as new. Dell was friendly, efficient, and very knowledge. Total price was $ 225 (inicluding house call charge) to fix the TV, which is much better than spending $ 1,500+ for a new one.

Based on the previous reviews, took my Sanyo flatscreen to Dell’s. After a quick diagnosis (picture would not stay on longer than 15 minutes), I received a call with a very reasonable price for the repair and a quick turnaround time.
Don was great to work with, and has earned the 5 stars again.

Dell was great. He came with every thing he needed to fix our tv. Very nice, and was quiet. He even cleaned the lenses of tv when he was done. The tv looked crisp and clear.

I called Dell’s because of the 2 five star reviews. We have a 37″ LG LCD tv that was having issues, it would turn on when it felt like it. So I called on Tues. 2/​22, he came out in a few hours, said it’s $ 25 p/​u and delivery fee to take back to his shop, I was fine with that. He called me the next morning about 11, told me what the problem was and he would try to get it back that evening. Called me at 6;15 said it’s fixed, he’ll be there in 20min. So here we are it works great! If you need tv repair call Dell’s the guy is very honest and reasonable.
