I started coming to expression because I needed a stylist that could wash and style my weave. The stylist who did my hair was Ty. The first and second wash and style was amazing. I walked out feeling like a diva! I received so many compliments on the way she styled my hair! (Weave not done by Ty) When it was finally time to take my weave out (done by someone else, not Ty) and get it re done, I decided to let Ty put my weave back in.
Ive been going to the same person for years to get my weave done and I love the way my person does my hair. But this time, I decided to try Ty’s skills. On the day Ty did my sew in, I was in the shop getting my hair done close to 7 hours. The longest ive ever been in a chair for a weave was 2 ½ hours. (Boy was I tired!) She installed my weave and cut it in a bob. The finish product was flawless. I must say, she has skills. But although a stylist is good at their work does not mean that stylist is right for you.
Ty charged me $ 200 for my bob but she waived the fee for the cut because I was in her chair so long. That was nice of her, I guess. Unfortunately, I had to take the weave out after a week. My cornrows were way too tight causing headaches and my edges are now thinner. Its now four weeks later and I still have the little bumps around the edges of my hair where my hair was pulling. I also have sores throughout the middle of my head as well. That was my last visit to expressions. My natural hair is more important than the way the weave looks.
Everyone in the salon are very friendly and will have you laughing. Very good environment vibe. The salon is kept up, very clean and pretty inside! I never returned to expression due to my own preferences. Ive decided to stick with the person ive been going to for years. After expressions, I lost way too much hair and there are certain parts of my hair that are shorter than the rest. Unfortunately, they’re just not right for my needs.

Sometimes you just need a temporary change to spice it up! This look was very simple, glued in tracks for a different look. The hair was already dyed when purchased. Christi blended it very nicely and added just enough hair for it to look real. This is very lightweight as well. Another hot look by Christi!

Christi/​Christie (?) TRANSFORMED ME, In the best way possible. Went in for my big chop and it came out perfect. She’s a go to for natural short hair styles.

Had my hair done by Christi today for the first time and loved it! She explained everything from start to finish which I appreciated. Showed her a picture of the style I wanted and she got it. Made a follow up appointment before I left!

I got my hair done by Trina… just two French braids. She was nice & quick. She was running an hour behind (that’s why there are 4 stars instead of 5), but she called first to inform me. All around it was a good experience.

Wonderful shop great atmosphere stylists and barbers are off the chain. Come in and get all your hair needs taking care of.

CHRISTY is awesome! Today was my first time in her chair and it MOST DEFINITELY will not be my last. I had a serious mishap with my hair, told me what she could do. She cut my hair and told me she would give me a style young and hip and she did that. She was a wonderful stylist and I know I will be back to see her real soon. The shop is amazing. That staff is friendly but very professional. The owner stopped in and she didn’t disturb the service but was very professional as well. They offer a beverage while you wait. Which is nice. This is the spot I was looking for!

One word: yaaaaaasssss! Christy is AMAZING. Very talented. Not too many people can cut hair flawlessly. I’ve searched high and low for an «it girl» that instinctively knows how to cut folk hair — I found her. For perspective: I’m moving to the East Coast this fall and have every single intention on coming back to Cali at least once a month to get my hair done by Christy — no freggin kidding. She’s just that good. I wish I I could give them 10 stars. I never ever say that, by the way. I’m über picky — especially about my hair and nails.
Anyway Honey she whipped my hair into infinity, and with very little instruction at that. I told her what I wanted and how I do and do not like my hair and when I got out that chair honey I looked like thee Toni Braxton! (braxton family values Toni — not Another Sad Love song Toni lol)! Yaaaaasss! Super super super happy with my hair. It is impossible for me to be any more pleased with the job Christy did on my hair! Highly highly highly recommend Christy if you’re on the market to cut your hair or if you’re just tired of your same old boring stylist, or that stylist that does your hair the way SHE wants to do your hair — get on down to Expressions honey.
As for he salon: it’s very clean and well kept; the furnishings are comfortable and it’s extremely spacious; they play cool R&B jams at a comfortable volume; the other stylists are friendly (not like at some places where the other stylists look you up and down like you just stole their puppy); atmosphere is super welcoming; the Manager is adorable and friendly; it’s just an all around cool shop. I felt relaxed and welcome. I will absolutely positively be back to see Christy. Go see her honey and thank me later!

Just resently I had the pleasure of meeting and getting my hair cut and styled by a styles name Christie. I had been going to a place in Gardena called connisuor for. 29 years nice place but unprofessional after 29 years of long hours waiting with an apointment, putting up with lateness, and over scheduling this client I was cursed out because a ponytail was not properly put in and accused of distorting it myself. So I was forced out into the street looking like road kill lost and alone and with no hair shop for the first time. I was blessed right out the gate with expressions gorgeous place, friendly employees, management personally greets each customer. They have a spa atmosphere going. please if you would like a nice hair experience make an apointment with Christie bring some photos and injoy

I would have liked more of a discussion on styling. I did speak up but being new to a salon is always a challenging experience.
My hair feels wonderful

I found this hair salon on Unilocal and am so happy I went in. I’d needed someone who was good with short styles and I wasn’t willing to settle. I called Christi on Wednesday and went in on Friday and was there a total of 3 hours which is good in my book. The shop is very clean including the restroom, the staff is über nice and the price that I paid was great too considering the quotes I’d been getting from other stylist.
My hair cut is amazing. She scissored and layered my hair like no other! I’m into relaxed (comfort) styles so my hair looked even better the next morning after wrapping it. I will definitely be going back for my next appointment in February.
Its a positive atmosphere most importantly and they also have 2 male barbers, and other stylist who does others types of hairstyles like weaves and braids.
Oh Christi also offers ‘Waist Beading” which is Traditionally worn under clothes by African women, waist beads have several different meanings. Ranging from rites of passage, to enticing your husband to healing and rejuvenation. In Egypt, waist beads were called «girdles». All the women wore them and it was a uniform for pre-​pubescent girls with out any sexual connotation.
In West Africa, waist beads have several names.; Jel-​Jelli, Jigeda, Giri-​Giri, Djalay Djalay or Yomba.

Christy made my hair dreams come true. I have been to a few other stylist with a picture of how I wanted my hair cut. One stylist said «I don’t think your comfortable going that short». The reality he was not capable of giving me the cut I wanted, Christy asked for a pix I was reluctant to show it because no one could do the job but she did it. A great stylist.

Great customer service. Stylist are personable and approachable. They have stylist and they have barbers on site. Plenty of street parking available. Christy has been my stylist she specializes in short cuts. She is a good stylist and offers recommendation on hair care r products Nd techniques. She listens to what you want and works to give you what you need. The salon and some stylist offer flexible schedules. Thanks to that I have been able to get my hair done on sunday which is convenient. I think there prices are comparable to other salons in the area. They offer all sorts of services from cuts, perms to weaves. The salon is convenient to my home 10 minutes away.

This is a nice place to go to get your hair done. They do everything from weaves to short hair styles. Everyone here is pleasant as soon as you walk in. And they take walk-​ins if they’re not super busy but they will still try to fit you in. I’ve been getting my hair done here for over a year by LaSandra, I think she has those growing hands and she loves her job. All the stylist there do… kudos to the owner!

Okay so I was taken care of by the wonderful Jazmine. She was absolutely amazing and had the sweetest spirit. I won’t be going elsewhere for a long time. She doesn’t schedule 50 million clients at one time and we all know how annoying that can be.
The atmosphere is amazing and the owner is so sweet. I love the décor and how chill and relaxed it is. Honestly, you can tell the woman knows how to run a business.
Not to mention the staff has cute fun tees that I absolutely adore and some of them were very creative with what they did.

Just left this place and man, Let me tell you something. Took my 8 yrs little girl, to get her hair whipped for first day of school.
Brand new interior, Super clean, Very nice beauticians working at every station, Got free wifi while waiting, Wow! Can’t say more, Oh yeah, Daughter was extremely satisfied. Like to say thanks our beautician «Nikita» We will definitely be retuning.
