Fairfield Family YMCA

Just found out I can no longer attend the Lakewood Y cause they are no longer connected. Need to use the gym Monday thru Friday at 5:30am on a strict schedule. Three times in the last three months no one was there to open on time. Looking for a new gym… asap.

Their website indicates that they offer a free week, but when I called to confirm, they indicated that the week had changed to a free day. When I arrived for our free day, to use the pool, they said that the free day doesn’t include the pool. I’m visiting town and wanted somewhere to take my kids for a swim. They should incorporate more options and update their website.

What a Rip Off! I wish I could give them negative stars! I had my son enrolled in the after school academic program for the past 3 years and after the raping of my wallet this year, I’m pulling him out!!! If you have a child in a non traditional scheduled school, DO NOT SIGN THEM UP HERE! The director of the program does not communicate with you unless it is about getting their money! We had to pay a full months fees even if our son went for 3 days out of the month because he was out for the rest of the month! 3 times this year! And now in June, he has to go the full month but we had to pay for the full month, and now another $ 155 a week! We get to pay double this month because of his school schedule! They are UNWILLING to work with you or help you! They do NOT think this is a RIP OFF?! I will pay extra to have my son go to the BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB across the street where monthly fees are determined on how much they attend and not on GREED!

Had a good day working out here and it wasn’t to far from where I live so that was another good thing… overall I would recommend this place if u want a place to just go and workout in a relaxing place

Alas, Deborah has left to another country. I don’t know anything about the replacement yoga teacher since I haven’t been to that class since Deborah left. Another reason I dropped my rating to 3 stars is that there was a bit of drama happening in the parking lot today and I’m not sure if this location is maybe getting a little rough?

Nothing wrong with this place at all! Offers a variety of programs for kids and adults. A great family atmosphere. I have always been a YMCA supporter, and always will! Only problem is they way this place is located, parking lot gets crowded. Need to take extra precaution leaving their lot.

Love this place. Great place for the whole family. Friendly staff excellent programs. I give them 1 star for parking.

I’ve been a member of the Y for about a month now and so far I’m definitely a fan.
The hours are great for me, I can work out at 6 am before work, or hit them up after work. The fitness center is decently sized with a nice variety of equipment. They have 4 elliptical, 4 treadmills, 2 stair climbers, some recumbent bikes, and this weird elliptical/​climber hybrid that darn near killed me last week. Whew.
With membership you get 3 free personal sessions with a trainer. This was great because I was able to learn how to use all of the weight equipment. I have an awesome routine now and am shedding pounds left and right.
The pool is outdoors but heated and usually not crowded. Plenty of room for lap swimming.
I still haven’t tried any classes since I’m intimidated by stuff like that, but so far joining this Y is one of the best decisions I’ve made in quite some time.
