Food is pretty good. Service is really slow. Asked for two waters for my friend and I. After our food came she decided it was an appropriate time to finally bring the water. I was a little parched so I finished said water pretty quickly. She said she’d be right back with a refill. 10 minutes later she’s taking the orders of the table behind me with 8 people. I walk up to the counter with my cup to get more water. About 6 people behind the counter, no one acknowledged me. There were pitchers sitting on the counter so I poured my own water. I think of you have to go get and pour your own water, it’s kinda shitty service, don’t you think?

After revisiting this location a few years later, I can attest that this experience was much better! Service was great, great view from the porch looking over the gulf, and the food was very good!

Key Lime pie was the best I’ve had. The key Lime chicken salad was great too. Lunch on the porch was very pleasant with a nice view.

I cook as a hobby so I think maybe my reviews are a little more tough than others but it may help out others like me. The restaurant itself is nice. We sat outside and got to see the kite festival going on while we ate. Food was just ok. I rarely salt things and had to salt the potatoes that came with the omelette. They’re decently handed with the cooking oil too so keep in mind if you’re sensitive to that kind of thing. Decent price for the quality.

This place is beautiful on the inside. The staff were friendly and the food was ok. Nothing to go crazy over, but I’d definitely return should I be in the immediate area and need a bite.

So busy for lunch we sat at the bar. Great Bartender, Joseph, who made a beautiful Bloody Mary! All the food was excellent! Great place, Great Food, Great Service! Can’t wait to try their weekend only Breakfast! We will definitely be back!

Being frequent visitors to the Mississippi Gulf Coast (seriously can’t get enough of that area) we are always on the lookout for new spots to dine. Thanks to Jen B’s review we wandered in here the morning of our last day here recently. Score!
Harbor View is a pretty restaurant with great views of the beach and gulf and a wrap around porch with awesome patio seating. I want to set up camp and just move in onto that patio. Seriously. It’s that lovely. The food here was great, too. I had the Everything Omelette* and a Bloody Mary with a side of bacon. Everything was great but the bacon. Oh my. It was thick and crispy just how I like it and not a soggy (eww) piece was to be found. Nothing worse than a fatty, soggy piece of bacon. The bloody Mary was not the best or strongest I’ve ever had but hey. I’ve never really met a Bloody Mary I didn’t like.
Service was slow but they were slammed this Sunday morning. Our food came quickly but locating our waitress was not easy when we needed her. Overall, I’d go here again in a heartbeat and think you should too!
*Everything Omlette-​ham, sausage, cheese, grilled onions, mushrooms, heaven dust. Ok, I made that last ingredient up. Just get it. You’re welcome.

Good food. Service was also great. I love the wrap around porch, it creates a great setting for a nice breezy lunch. I had the chicken salad wrap and my husband had the Surf n Turf poboy. My wrap was delicious, it came with a spicy remoulade sauce (I think that’s what it was) and I enjoyed it very much. The poboy was good but could’ve used a few more minutes in the toaster. On the side we had eggplant fries (yum!!!) and kettle chips (also yum).

Love the location. Upbeat caring staff – even when they are packed. We love the fried pickles and chicken tenders. Very good. Ranch tastes homemade. Best little bar around. You can’t go wrong.

Love coming here for lunch! Prices are good and sandwiches are great!

We went today, and I’m baffled that anyone would complain about the prices! I had 2 Bloody Marys (amazing!), large grilled chicken salad, side of pasta salad, and ice cream for $ 25. That is a steal! All 5 of us enjoyed every dish we ordered. My only negative comment, which is why I gave 4 stars, is that the service was slow. We did our fair share of waiting. It was probably close to 20 – 25 minutes after being seated that we were able to give our food order, but the servers were all very nice.

We were very unimpressed with the quality of the food especially for the prices. If you want a good salad go somewhere else.

I’ve used Unilocal quite often but this is my first review. Here goes: I ate at Harbor View for the first time just now. I was convinced by my partner to order the Prime Rib Special (I really just wanted the burger.). I ordered it medium rare and it arrived well-​done. The best part was when I mentioned this to the waitress and she stuck her face down to my plate to closely examine the meat and then pointed out 1 tiny speck of pink amongst the charred flesh. No exaggeration. So the meal ended there, since her hair was basically in my food. Also, the men’s room was disgusting and the place was absurdly loud. The reason I am giving 2 stars and not less is that their child’s portion was quite large and the catfish tasty. Beyond that there is no reason for anyone, especially me, to return.

Got seated. Never even placed a drink order. Waited at least 39 minutes. Are you kidding? Only about half full. Adiós.

Wow where to begin? Harbor View Café is amazing! The dining room is clean and bright with a nice view of the ocean from some tables. The staff was attentive but didn’t linger. The food arrives in a timely manner even when the place was packed.
We had lunch there on our first day in Long Beach and we were wowed by their sandwiches. I ordered the Sierra Chicken sandwich and it was the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. My sister ordered the chicken salad and my cousin ordered the tuna – both sandwiches were huge and delicious. The fries and onion rings were okay but nothing to write about. We had dessert too and they ARE worth writing about. The Key lime pie, carrot cake and a fantastic chocolate cake. .. Oh that cake was REALLY good.
We came back for dinner and we ordered a shrimp salad, chicken Alfredo and my sister got the chicken salad again. Even though the place was packed my chicken Alfredo was outstanding. The chicken had a scrumptious thin light herb crust and the pasta was cooked perfectly! The shrimp salad was loaded with fresh shrimp and the lettuce was good and cold. Nice!
The only thing I think is a con is the inside dining room is a bit loud when the place is full. Other than that one thing I can’t think of another thing I’d change. We can’t wait to come back the next time we come to Long Beach.

My favorite place to eat in Long beach, and the surrounding area. I have been here 5 or 6 times and am always impressed with the food, drink, and service. Prices are very reasonable and servers are super friendly.

FOOD IS AVERAGE. Beautiful restaurant, extremely clean bathrooms, service was slightly above average, but nothing to rave about and the food ranked a little below average. However, I would go here again because it has a nice atmosphere and they have desert, which is hard to mess up.

Amazing Amazing Amazing. This weekend a friend of my husbands took us here. We were visiting from New Orleans. The food was absolutely amazing. The Sierra chicken sandwich on honey berry bread and the home run is the red velvet cake. There is no place in the world with cake like that. The service was unorganized but so homely and friendly who cared about organization. We also like our credit card by accident. Probably because we were hypnotized by the food. Anyway the staff protected his card and I wish he would have brought back another piece of cake. I will drive back to MS just for this place.

We came upon this place by chance and it was a great experience. Our server, Katie, was a delight. It is clear that they are very conscientious and provided a lot of options (deviations) from the main dishes. Food was good, atmosphere lovely and dessert very tasty.

I give a resounding MEH, just like the stars say. I’m mystified why anyone would rate this place so highly.
— Maple syrup was fake, high fructose corn syrup knockoff garbage
— Pancakes were basically actual cakes. They were good, but unrealistically large and I felt foolish ordering them in addition to my breakfast. Only ate half of one.
— Eggs your way? Cool. Eggs that tasted like Egg Beaters? Not cool.
— The «hash» I got was not merely overcooked, it was over-​salted and burnt. You too can enjoy potatoes, bell peppers, and onions that have barely survived a trip through hell and back.
— The placement of the tables outdoors was bizarre. I could not enjoy my meal, as there was an older lady and her friend literally staring in directly at my husband and I attempting to enjoy our mediocre brunch. Super awkward. I felt like an animal on display.
— The hot cocoa I got was hysterically over-​sweetened.
In summary: A bunch of over-​sweetened, over-​refined, over-​processed, over-​salted mediocre food? I should have figured, in the diabetes/​obesity capital of the USA. You probably could have gotten better at IHOP. I could have gotten better just sucking it up and making breakfast at home. Downside would have been dishes, but at least I’d be saving money.
