I was optimistic coming in to this restaurant due to its optimal location, however, it was disappointing. It looked like our server was the only one working and she was very nice. When we came for lunch it was empty except for one other table so the food came out pretty quick. We ordered one lunch special which came with salad, rice, chicken curry, and chana masala. We ordered saag aloo and garlic naan. And for a starter we decided to try the masala fries which seemed to be a unique item. Masala fries: the sauce on it was absolutely tasty. Too bad the fries had so little salt that it lacked proper flavor. Also the French fries they use are so skinny it’s literally just fried it’s like there is no potato whatsoever. We kept waiting for the perfect bite of potato inside and crunchy outside but it never happened. We left most of the fries uneaten. Way too expensive for what it is. SKIPTHIS. Lunch special: this was the only good part of the meal. Both curries were cooked well. We asked for it spicy and the spice level was good. Took this dish to go. Saag aloo: I was excited at first that the saag looked like it was cooked differently than the saag at most restaurants. You could actually tell it was spinach. I was also happy with the spice level. But the dish was so OVERLYSALTY. I couldn’t eat it. Not with rice. Not with the garlic naan. We just took the potatoes and mixed it with the chicken curry. Ruined my palate. The lunch specials are a good value. Everything else was a dud.

If you have an hour to wait before eating, then come here. Just know they serve the to-go orders first. Don’t come here if you’re in a hurry, are hungry, or have an hour to eat, unless you want to waste an afternoon. Sad thing is the food was actually good which is why I gave them two stars.

They need to update their online order … I live on 14th street and the posting says they do not deliver past 14th street. I ordered thinking my meal is on its way and I get a call 10 min later saying I live too far. I checked the mileage and its 1.3 miles. Maybe they should update their borders otherwise it is misleading. The food overall is the best Indian around down town LB. Unfortunately there’s more to a business than just good food.

Been coming here for lunch since it opened. Great price for a good amount of tasty food. Good beginners restaurant for the unadventurous looking to change that.

Bought a Groupon. $ 12 for 22 I love Indian food. I wish I went to a buffet it would have tasted better. I got chicken masala$ 12 my friend beef vindaloo $ 14 added naan. Mine tasted watery and very spicy, hers tasted like stew. She liked the sauces a lot. Overpriced for such disappointing food. I prefer other eateries I won’t come back

We discovered this place during a «Stroll and Dine Street Festival» in downtown. We were so impressed by the Chicken Marsala, we returned the next night and ate from the booth again. Tonight we ordered the chicken Marsala to go. When we arrived home the portions were so small and the 2 orders of Naan were all burnt. I would have went back to get more food and Naan, but I was already in my PJs. Truly a disappointment.

Ordered pick-up. Masala fries were soggy and it didn’t come with cilantro or feta as claimed on the menu. It had cheddar cheese melted on it. Palak Paneer was equivalent to the Trader Joes boxed curries. Worst I’ve ever ordered. With crunchy seeds in it? She forgot to put in the salad dressing for the salad. The curries had no rice with them. I assumed they come with rice and I saw no sides for rice on the menu. I’m giving it two stars because the Naan was pretty good. Veggie Korma was okay. I ordered the chai to go, but she had no to go cups for hot liquids, so I had to take it in a plastic cup. Huge waste of $ 32.

March 22, 2016. I went to try it out. I ordered the combo number 5. The beef and the sauce are tasty. The Basmati rice and Garlic Naan bread is lacking flavor. My biggest concern though is the employee’s hygiene. Despite they have servsafe certification, it seems sanitation is not properly implemented. The waitresses serves the food, and bus the tables. But I don’t see them washing their hands after picking the dirty plates. The toilet doesn’t have a toilet sheet. Also, I notice that one of the staff went to the restroom without removing the apron off first. The waitresses have good teamwork though. Just lacking on the hygiene side. Customer service is so-so and one of the waitress doesn’t look enthusiastic to serve. Won’t be coming for a while.

Man oh man, this place ROCKS! The food is always above par, service is always beyond standard, and I can’t wait until my next meal here. I highly recommend the korma, vindaloo and samosas. Well, everything is incredibly delicious, so order whatever you’re in the mood for. The wait staff are very friendly and attentive, very sweet ladies and very helpful. They have a TV on some music channel that strictly plays music videos. Pretty cheesy videos, but that does not negatively influence my review or this establishment in any way. The music videos are quite entertaining actually. This place makes me happy. I wish I had four stomachs

I don’t really have anything new to report, but I thought I’d update the review anyway, for people like myself that treat older reviews as less informative because things could have changed: we were there last weekend, and nothing has changed. The crazy roll is still on the menu, it is still the same totally-legit price, it still doesn’t take too long to order and receive, and it is still amazingly fantastically tasty. And the spicy creamy sauce they give you to use as a condiment is still there, and still makes an excellent salad dressing for the side salad that comes with it. There is literally no reason to come here and order anything else. Actually, there is one new thing to report: when we were there last weekend, I noticed, they brought the buffet back! 12 dollar weekend lunch buffet is currently operational. We didn’t try it, though, so I can’t say if the quality on that has gone down or not.

First timer, ordered delivery. Everything was delivered in a timely fashion, fresh and hot! The delivery man was super friendly and happy, that stood out to me. I was impressed by the spices and flavor, plenty of veggie/vegan options. Curries are spot on, good prices and portion size. A must Try!

Strange experience last night when we ate here. Doing date night with my wife, we go to the restaurant at 8:40, the waitress brings the menu and first thing she says is «Hello, we are closing at 9:00.» Looking at my iPhone, I replied, but isn’t it 8:40?” She corrects me and says it 8:41, when my satellite time tracked phone clearly says different, LOL. We were already seated, then she asks«Would you like it to go?» Pretty lame way to greet customers, especially since we’ve eaten here regularly for about 6 years now. I can understand mentioning closing time if it were 5 or even 15 minutes away, but making a fuss when you’re not closing for 20 minutes? Way to ruin the atmosphere. 2 stars and not 1, because it’s been generally good in the past.

Our first time ordering online, and it’s been over an hour an a half and we still have yet to get our food. The confirmation said 45 – 60 minutes. Okay, so an hour max, not almost 2 hours for delivery. We only ordered four things as well: –garlic naan –stuffed keema naan –Marsala fries –chicken tikka plate There’s no way this should take that long to deliver. I called the restaurant and they said it should’ve been delivered already. I told the girl that it was not. She said she’d call me back. That was 10 minutes ago. Never got a call back until the delivery guy actually called us. No apology or anything. Don’t think we’ll order from this place again. Hopefully the food is better than the service. UPDATE: the food was meh. Will not be ordering from there again. *Garlic naan — dry, and had no garlic flavor. Maybe they mixed up our order and gave us regular naan? *Stuffed keema naan — cold and soggy, and the keema was lacking flavor. *marsala fries — were extremely cold and soggy! Yes, they put the Marsala on the side, but they had them in a styrofoam container that the steam turned into water and made our fries soggy! *chicken tikka plate — didn’t try, but the boyfriend said it was chalky and he’s had better tikka flavor elsewhere. I’m assuming they forgot to deliver our food to us, and it just sat on their counter after they made it. WOULDNOTRECOMMENDFORDELIVERY. Well the food sucked as well, so wouldn’t recommend them for their food either.

This place has good reviews, but I honestly did not find my food tasty. They definitely use a ton of oil when prepping their dishes. I got the salmon plate and on top of that my salmon was raw on the inside. :/

Came by here on a weekday — for late dinner with the boyfriend and we found our new Indian fav spot in Long Beach! The beef gyro and the chicken curry were both DELICIOUS. The side bread was fresh and yummy. Definitely recommend!

Not your typical Indian restaurant. Had most of the staples but also have pizza and naan wrap options! Tamarind and Mint-Jalapeño chutneys are in more sanitary squeeze bottles instead of open public bowls with community spoons. Both the chicken and beef seekh kabobs are great. Never had a chicken one before and it was the better of the two. And you can order them for $ 2.50 each a la carte! The basmati rice is oddly yellow instead of white but still tastes good. The saag is a rock star. Deep rich flavors with a reddish hue and plenty of spice in the chile oil range. The vindaloo is too thin and lacks the curry depth. The naan is well done but tastes more like pizza dough. The prices are a true bargain for what you get. Would come back for sure to explore further.

I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about it, but there’s also nothing great about it either. It’s just… A-OK(like the Unilocal review says for 3 stars). The Bindhi Masala(okra) and the garlic naan were the highlights. The okra was spiced perfectly and just delicious. The garlic naan had a good flavor to it and was perfect for dipping. What also was good was the Mango Lassi drink. I got the chicken masala, and it was good, but not great. I like the one at Natraj better, to be honest. But it was good enough for being walking distance from my hotel. I wish I could’ve gotten a little more spice to it, but the waitress never asked for our spice level, which I thought was weird since Indian food is known for the spicy level. I liked the way they plate the meal. Very clean looking. The look and feel of the restaurant was just OK. They had Indian music videos playing on a TV that was fun to see. The waitress seemed«meh» about everything and forgot our waters a few times, but other than that she was fine. Again, overall, A-OK meal, and I’ll be back if I’m craving Indian food. I really want to try the masala fries. Looks awesome.

Food tasted great… we had garlic naan, chicken masala, and chicken tikka… the only thing is that it took a long time to get to the table… we were pretty hungry by the time it arrived, so we were like inhaling our food… but I think all indian restaurants take a look to cook, this wasn’t the first one that we had to wait more than 30 minutes for the food. I guess we’ll go to indian buffets in the future if we are hungry and don’t want to wait… =)

My go-to lunch spot! Lunch specials are $ 8.99(8 choices). My fave is the #2, Chicken Tikka. The plate comes with 5 pieces of tender dark meat on a bed of seasoned rice plus salad. I haven’t tried the other choices but my friends have and they’ve enjoyed it… so you can’t go wrong.
Service can be slow during the lunch rush, as there’s only one person taking dine and phone-in orders. Big props to the female server. She works hard and does everything! Tip #1: come before noon to beat the rush. At times, it takes awhile for the food to come out. The longest I’ve waited was 20 mins… Tip #2: call in your dine in order and the food will be ready when you get there. **there’s currently a deal on groupon: $ 11 for $ 22, dine-in only and not valid on lunch specials. To-go orders are quite popular and delivery is available.
