Kogan Seth A, MD

Dr. Kogan is a great and competent doctor. He removed fibroids from my uterus two times and each time it has given me a greater quality of life (I was bleeding profusely and non stop both times. The second time I had severe anemia to go along with all of that bleeding.) I am always scared to have surgical procedures because I have been burned before by surgeons. Needless to say this a surgery (myomectomy) that requires a lot of skill and careful attention to detail. I would highly recommend Dr. Kogan for a gynecologist as well as a surgeon. His nurse Diane is awesome as well.

Dr. Kogan delivered both of my children 11 and 15 yrs ago. Shortly after, I had to find another OB/​Gyn because of insurance issues. After 10 yrs of trying to find a different OB/​Gyn that is covered by my insurance, I decided to pay cash to see Dr. Kogan. I had forgotten how wonderful he is.
They recently moved within the same building and have a beautifully remodeled office. More importantly, he is skilled, thorough, as well as warm and personable. I am a nurse practitioner and have a lot of experience with health care providers. In my opinion, he is one of the best!
I have insurance, but would rather pay cash to see Dr. Kogan than to see one of the MDs that are covered by my plan.

While Dr. Kogan is a nice enough guy, I had a difficult time dealing with his office staff. There wasn’t a single appt. where I didn’t have to wait a minimum of ½ hour to 45 mins. past my appt. time just to get started with the nurse — even though I arrived early every time. There were some appointments that should have lasted ½ hour at most and I would be there sometimes for almost 2 hrs.!!
The worst part was dealing with the woman in billing. She tried to double-​charge me for my deductible when my insurance company assured me it should only be half the amount. I was also charged co-​pays that my insurance informed me should never have been charged.
The other difficulty with Dr. Kogan was that my appointments with him were always being rescheduled. I have a busy schedule myself and have a hard time with fitting in schedule changes.
Overall I would not recommend this office unless you have a lot of time to waste and the willingness to overpay for services.

Dr. Kogan is very friendly and easy to talk to — he always answers all my questions and I never feel embarrassed asking them. The receptionists are not overly friendly, but once I see Dr. Kogan and his nurse Diane, I am put at ease. In fact, I just moved from the area to Northern California, but I intend to fly back just to keep him as my gynecologist! He is a great doctor and would recommend him to anyone!
