Just left this dump!!! So disappointed in the service!!! Did they not know it was cinco de mayo??? I would comment on the food but we left before they even asked us what we wanted, because they never figured to ask?!? We saw multiple tables just getting up and leaving. We had two mediocre margaritas that cost us $ 35!!! We felt robbed! The manager/bartender/server even had the nerve to hand us a card that said«1-free appetizer next time you come I just handed it back and told her we will never be coming back! DONOTGOTOTHISPLACE!!!

Went to have a nice dinner & schmooze but was turned away because the server & manager decided to not want to work. Um… ok

This place is terrible now. When this place opened up the food was fresh and the flavors were amazing. I don’t know if there is new ownership, or if it’s just been a choice to cheapen out on ingredients and staff but it is no where near as great as it was when it first opened. The place only had 3 tables when I went, but the waitress was socially awkward and snarky. The food took an insanely long amount of time to come too. I don’t think I’ll go back now. I used to rave about this place but now? Ish, I think Taco Bell had better flavor profiles. So sad!

We come for the cocktails and usually get a couple of small bites. The first time we were there over a year ago the beef enchiladas were amazing! We have been back a couple of times and the food seems to have gone downhill. The owners should focus on hiring a proper chef/cook. Pay a little more $$ and I’m sure the customers will follow. The last time we were there it was a young kid in the kitchen who clearly had no idea what he was doing. It was shocking how bad it was. Basic cooking techniques lack in the kitchen. Hire a new chef or get a consultant, if need be I’ll get back there and train your kitchen staff, seriously! I wish you restaurant the best of luck. Owners, hopefully you read this and take action. We live close by and want your place to succeed.

We’ve visited this restaurant 4 times, and after the last two, we won’t be back. The first two visits everything was excellent. I raved about it to friends. Both times were on a Sunday(early afternoon), and our server was Aaron. There were probably only two other tables in the restaurant besides us, and this worked to our favor because there were only two people working… in the whole restaurant!!! One single server and one single person in the kitchen. This is going to be ok if there are three tables of 2 – 3 people, but otherwise everyone is screwed. It became painfully obvious on our third visit(this time on a Thursday) that when there are more than 3 tables with more than 3 people, it ain’t gonna work. You can’t expect a single person to make and juice limes for margaritas and wait on 5 separate tables and have it be done in a timely manner. It’s not possible. So the poor girl we had waiting on us was continually apologizing for the«delay.» The chef was clearly different than the last two times because our food looked drastically different, and not in a good way. All the condiments for the tacos were missing, and they forgot the meat for my husbands enchiladas. Our fourth and final visit we decided to go back on a Sunday and hoped maybe Aaron could better multitask, but we find out he is gone. This time the restaurant is busier, and there is still ONEPERSON working the entire dining area. After waiting close to 15 minutes for two drinks, the girl was in such a rush to make my «pear and cilantro» margarita she literally took an entire bunch of cilantro stems and all, and just shoved it into a glass with tequila. I couldn’t even drink it. Dying of thirst, we literally had to ask for waters on 4 separate occasions. Then the food we got was pretty much un-edible. Unseasoned smashed avocado that couldn’t even pass for guacamole got thrown together in 30 seconds while the single cook was making food for a party of 7 next to us, and the refried beans were so old and so dry my husband had to spit them back out. I don’t blame any of our problems with this restaurant on their staff. It is whomever is doing the staffing that is solely responsible. You cannot expect consistency with two employees. We cannot, and that is why we won’t be back.

I’m very dissatisfied with my visit here yesterday. I have no idea how it was rated 4 stars. The chips and salsa are of «chili’s» quality. Just OK. The salsa tasted like it came from a jar and didn’t have a great flavor. I will say that the ceviche was good. I got the fish tacos for an entrée… not good. The fish was bone dry, and the did not have any good sauce on top or flavorful salsa to help it out. The server did not bring water and so this made the dry dry fish even worse. The place was not busy at all… like 3 tables, so I don’t know why it was so hard to get a water refill. Do not get the fish tacos. Black beans and white rice came with the meal… both ok but just lacking any real flavor. Small other gripe… no IPAs available on a Friday night at 630pm. Fail. Pass on this place.

The Queso Fundido is delicious and a must try. We tried the enchiladas and tacos which were also good. The service was nice and the tequila choices were plentiful I knocked a star off because I felt the meat could’ve been juicier(I’m Latin so I’m a snob). It’s no Lola’s or Los Compadres but so far the best Mexican on this side of town. It was my birthday and the chef came out and wished me happy birthday. Definitely worth a try, we’ll go back.

Margaritas are phenomenal, ambiance is good, and it’s not too big so you get a more personal experience with your server. We didn’t eat here on Valentine’s Day, just had drinks(but we will definitely eat when we come back).

The drinks were strong, full bar, and the food was damn good. If you’re looking for Mexican food on 2nd, this is the only place to go. Fresh guacamole, homemade salsa(delish), the staff is super friendly, and they were totally cool with our little margherita fest, serving us some strong ass Cadillacs. We will definitely be back soon. Girlfriend lives off 2nd so we’re gonna be coming back a lot.

Awful. Seriously, how do you mess up Mexican food? I don’t remember the last time I’ve had such a bad meal. For those who like the play by play: Salsa– eh, it was ok. Quest fundido-un inspiring, but eatable. Main dishes: I ordered the fish taco platter; the rice had no flavor and the(room temp) black beans had even less. The fish tacos were served dry, with over cooked fish and cabbage. My girlfriend ordered the chicken enchiladas… it was basically the queso fundido with oddly spiced chicken outside the cheese and tortilla. Even the house margarita wasn’t good. Seriously. 4 stars? I don’t get it.

Worst Mexican in Town! Don’t do it!!! Waited over 2 hours, I kid you not. The owners must have too much rent and can only afford minimum wage cooks and minimum wage food. Go to Taco Bell, it’s a better choice. Just disgusted!

First experience here was about 2 months ago. And I was hyped! The food was so delicious! I ordered their famous queso fundido w/chorizo as an appetizer and it was baked to perfection. Very cheesy and yummy. Comes served with chips and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. For my main entrée I ordered chicken enchiladas. Served with cilantro lime rice and black beans. Everything was well served and super tasty! But last night my boyfriend and I decided to return and unfortunately Komo’s did not live up to the first dining experience. We decided to share their 3 taco platter and queso fundido. The biggest disappointment was the queso. It was cold, not cheesy, and composed of some sort of sour cream or cream cheese like substance. I’m not sure if they changed their cheese or ingredients– but it was nasty. Major downfall. Can’t say much about their tacos except tortillas were soggy. Meat was ok. But it wasn’t fresh. I might come back in the future, but not any time soon.

What’s not to like? As foodies who love to cook and eat, we know that we can often be critical. But we expect good service and food when paying decent prices. For what we got, prices were very reasonable. We went early last evening(Saturday) and were greeted by a friendly and welcoming server, Kristy. We can’t say enough good about her throughout our dining experience. She was helpful, efficient, and clearly had a passion for the food and helping her customers have a terrific dining experience. We began with the chips and salsa Kristy brought us, followed by the Cadillac Margaritas. Our Margaritas were excellent. They have a decent selection of tequilas to choose from too. We ordered a shot and it was a good pour. I would have liked to have seen Don Pilar in their selection, but that was my ONLY complaint from the entire evening. We ordered the Abondigas Soup, Carnitas Chilaquiles with fried egg(excellent!), Flatiron Steak, and Mussels with Chorizo in the white wine/garlic broth. Each dish had an excellent flavor profile and was modern. Yet we felt like we were in old Mexico as many of the traditional flavored came through. So impressed, we asked Kristy if the chef might come out to our table. Before we knew it he was at our table! He was as friendly and welcoming as Kristy. He seemed to really enjoy conversing about his dishes, along with sharing some tips about the process of a couple we had ordered. We don’t typically order dessert, but everything was SO good and Kristy insisted we would not be disappointed. She recommended the Churros with the dipping sauces. I commented that I am not a Churros person at all, to which she said, «these are not what you’d expect, you will love them»! OMG… we were in Heaven. Once the Churros were gone I could have licked the plate clean… SOGOOD! We will definitely come back when we are in the area again(we are not locals but come down to Ling Beach fairly often) as we were extremely happy with all aspects of our experience. Clearly we highly recommend this place to others!!!

Food was 3.5÷5 Service was 2⁄5 The cheese fondue was alright. Really, really, really, overly greasy. Chicken tortilla soup didn’t have much substance. All broth and tasted like it was out of a can. Chicken quesadillas had a ton of cheese and little chicken, but it was okay. The enchilada plate(served w/cilantro rice and black beans) was really good and something I would recommend. Salsa that came with chips was nice and spicy; I couldn’t stop eating them. I enjoyed the pickled veggies. felt a little random, but it tasted good to me. Food experience was fine, what bothered me was the service. A guy was working there and it looked like he was doubling up as the bartender and server, but it was definitely not a busy evening at all. He took forever to approach us after we sat down to give us our menus and just as long to come back and get our drink orders. Through that whole time we waited and kept waiting, our server was just standing behind the bar flirting away with the two guys in front of him. He didn’t come up to check on us during our meal nor asked if we were missing anything, such as a soup spoon for the soup(gave us a small teaspoon instead), two of us were missing two sets of silverware, and his whole vibe of speaking to us seemed unwelcoming, even with trying to hide it through the fake smile. I wish I could give this place a better review, but based on our service and feeling super uncomfortable there… probably never going back. Hmmm there is a pub next door…

I’m writing this review because this place should be slammed for weekend brunch. The food is exceptional. I’ve been here twice now for the very best huevos rancheros I’ve ever had. They serve two crispy layers of corn tortillas, with retried beans, a gorgeous dark enchilada sauce, and eggs perched on top. Sourcream, and a slice of avocado are a nice touch. The watermelon margarita is made with fresh juice, not too sweet. the perfect brunch cocktail. If u haven’t been to brunch at Komo’s, ur missing out… or it’s the best kept secret in town.

5 stars for the margaritas(they really are the best I’ve had). Super fresh and STRONG. I like the chips and salsa. The chips are thick and yummy. 3 stars for the food and wait time. This place has been so inconsistent. I kept saying I wouldn’t go back after a few times of getting messed up orders, LONG wait times when there was no one in the restaurant, undercooked fish after I asked for well done… this place is not cheap mind you. I don’t ever mind paying extra for food if it’s good and done how I want it but they never make it how I ask. I’ve had too many $ 75/$ 100 bills there with sh*tty food, and I’m tired of wasting my money. I really wanted to like this place because I frequent the bars on Naples but I’ve had too many bad experiences there to eat a sit down meal. Get the margaritas, skip the food.

We walked in at 9pm last night for a late dinner. They close at 10, so we figured it would be a quick dinner. Service was awful. When we walked in, there wasn’t a hostess. A few employees just stared in our general direction while we waited for acknowledgement. My husband ordered the Albondigas soup to start with and the waitress came back 30 minutes later to tell us they were all out. Not too big of an issue, but 30 minutes is a long time to be munching on chips and sucking down margaritas because you are starving. I ordered the carnitas and my husband ordered the steak with chimichurri. My carnitas was actually a pork chop, which the menu failed to mention. It was a tasty pork chop, but it wasn’t carnitas. My husband’s steak was bland. Their version of chimichurri was some chopped up cilantro thrown on top and a squeeze of lime. Both dishes were supposed to come with a side of black beans. Instead we got pinto beans that tasted like they were from a can. The side of rice kind of tasted like a Japanese rice ball. It took them 40 minutes to bring out our food. This is a long time in an empty restaurant when you are hungry. Tasty drinks. For $ 3 – 4 more, they give you twice the alcohol. Good deal. Not sure exactly what the problem was here… lack of wait staff? slow chef? someone attempting to get creative with the menu who doesn’t really know what they’re doing? Anyhow, the worst $ 100 meal we’ve ever had. Skip this place and go to Panxa Cocina(on Broadway), Los Compadres(on Anaheim), or Enrique’s(PCH).

Margaritas so strong they should come with an Über app. Go to Komo’s for the… * Modern, slick, classy, romantic and cozy ambiance and hightop table options. * Pricey but strong, clean margaritas in two sizes(and pitcher option). * Attentive, friendly, and fast service. * Excellent crispy and flaky chips and smoky salsa. * Great mussel dish: served with yummy crumbled chorizo in a yummy broth with two big pieces of excellent crispy garlic bread. Don’t go for the… * burritos(off-menu)— I barely tasted ANY meat in my carnitas burrito. Only chiles and tortilla. Get the carnitas nachos instead. * chicken tortilla soup, which tasted canned, with diced chicken. * value(though the mussels dish is a fair price, others are priced too high) * peaceful acoustics(twice we wanted to leave because people are so loud) * bar. Bar is not really a bar. It is a table for two facing a RV sized kitchen area. Our last three visits have been lackluster, so I dropped from 5 to 4 stars, but I stand by the fresh and strong five-star margaritas and chips/salsa.
