Light & Life Christian Fellowship North

God led us to Light & Life via Unilocal,so I thought it appropriate to write a review from my heart. Upon arrival to the Wednesday evening Bible Study, we were greeted with warmth and love like I’ve never experienced before at a church. The praise & worship, prayer, and lesson were all wonderful. It didn’t take months or even weeks to know this church is home; it was instantaneous. Additionally, the diversity is incredible! Every culture is represented, as well as every age group. But most importantly, this is a Bible-​teaching, Jesus Christ-​centered, LOVING church and I’m so thankful to God for LLCF and everyone here. What a blessing!

You will be greeted by our warm and loving Pastor, Dr. Larry Walkemeyer as he radiates Christ’s papable compassion in motion. Multi cultural members of this loving church aka «The People — Loving Place» are equally warm and genuinely joyful. THANK YOU Pastors, Drs. Larry and Deb Walkemeyer for your remarkable and momentous impression on my life as well as millions of lives you’ve impacted. May God continue to anoint and crown you with Christ’s heart as you serve. Hallelujah!!!

This church is a healthy, loving, bible teaching church. Love the people God uses here! Pastor Larry & Deb are awesome examples!

My very first visit, I just knew this was the church for me. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and embraced me with hugs. I love that it is multi cultural and multi generational. The colorful blend of people all worshipping together made me feel right at home.

My husband and I have grown big time under the teaching of senior Pastor Larry and his wife Deb. All of the pastors at LLCF bring great truth! This church is our family. People of every color gather each week to worship which is a taste of heaven. I highly recommend LLCF to anyone searching. You’ll be loved as you grow, inspired & equipped to step out into new territories with the gifts God gave you but only as the Lord leads in HIS timing. It’s a safe place in every way.

Light and Life North is simply one of the best churches you can ever attend! It is called The People Loving Place and this church lives up to that name. It is very multi ethnic and multi economic, a place for everybody, and it is a slice of heaven in my eyes. I love this church!

This church loves on people beyond their color, race, sex, status (financial, legal, emocional, etc). If you look for a place to worship with your family in a true multicultural platform, then you should visit. I’m sure you’ll want to come back again.

My husband and I attended Light and Life while he was stationed at Los Angeles AFB. We lived in Long Beach, just a few blocks from the church. I immediately loved the high energy, the amazing music and the spirit filled worship. Pastor Larry really listens to the prompting of the Spirit, so you never quite know what may happen… but it will be good. My husband grew up in a very conservative Baptist church in the south and he wasn’t so sure he was ready for the loud music, the bright purple streak in the youth pastor’s hair, or the body piercings… or even the common practice of wearing flip flops to church, but he fell in love with the genuine people, the amazing commitment to missions and the fact that this small church was «mending and sending» SO MANY Christians, equipping them for ministry on a level that we had never witnessed in our lives. When we moved in 2006, in the hight of the real estate market we felt so blessed to tithe our huge profit on the sale of our house to Light and Life because we KNEW they would use it to grow the Kingdom of God. They are incredibly wise stewards of their resources! It’s a true testament to see what God can do with a little building that has like 25 parking spaces. Go! You will feel loved, welcomed and you will grow in Christ whether you are a brand new believer, a weary, wounded warrior or someone who is on fire for the Lord and ready for the next adventure He will bring.

I LOVE LLCF! I walked through these doors years ago. I immediately felt welcomed and loved. No one was pushy, but I felt everyone was authentic. The church was multi-​ethnic (I honestly had never seen anything like it before). People of all ages and cultures worshipping together.
I grew up and lived as a Christian all of my life, but I was still seeking more. I have learned so much at LLCF. I started volunteering, becoming active in small groups, and really studying the Bible more than I ever have before.
I loved meeting people of different ages, cultures, ethnicities, and economic statuses. The Holy Spirit is absolutely present. Great teaching, spirit-​filled worship, not too big or too small, and it’s all about Jesus.

I have been going there for three years!

This is the best church around. Such a loving, down-​to-​earth place for the whole family. I’ve been going here for 20+ years, and can’t imagine a better church family. Great for all ages. There are always events/​activities to get involved with and meet new people. You will be moved and touched in this place. Worship and teachings are inspirational, and always help me start my week off as well as gives me lots to think about throughout the week. In addition to Sunday services, this church family cares about the community and is actively reaching out and coming up with new ideas on how to help people locally, nationally and internationally. Something for everyone here… come give it a try if you haven’t already. You will grow here!

A church that truly loves and means it! It’s the friendliest and most comforting church to be at! Everyone greets you with big smiles & big hugs, too! Also, great youth services and children’s ministry. Pastor Larry brings it each time he preaches & is as authentic and genuine as it gets! If you haven’t checked this place out, it’s a must!

Most friendly church that my wife and I have been to. No matter your skin color, age, or economic status, They truly live out their motto of being the people loving place!

Awesome church that is very alive, full of the Holy Spirit, and Bible based. Everyone makes you feel loved and welcome.

I had been going to this church in North Long Beach. Liked going there and worshipping for quite a while with a couple of friends. Each one of us helping each other out and attending church together as much as possible. One person with drug addition problems. We decided to become members and so we signed up. I found out that this church doesn’t let anyone that isn’t totally straight to become a member here. I have been very upset since I found out that. I wonder about some of the children that will be growing up and finding out that they are gay or bisexual or other. These young Christians will be excluded from membership at this church, maybe ridiculed and rejected. This is traumatic for children going through this. The pastor here was great but now I am thinking not so great if he will be excluding his own church members. That is very sad.
