What an honor getting trained by master Oumry. He is so patient with me as I’m just getting back into kickboxing. This is a no frills, train your butt off kinda place. Love the atmosphere here. Everyone is super friendly.

Love this gym, they have wonderful warm up classes before training and are one on one kick boxing training. I wish that I didn’t live all the way up in Burbank, or else I would attend more often.

You will learn fast but I warn you, you will get yelled at harshly and get frustrated. But don’t give up EVER

This is a great little gym with awesome coaches and a family feel. If you are looking for a fancy facility this place isn’t for you. However, if you just want good training then you should check this place out. Kru Oumry and his instructors are very kind, knowledgeable and helpful and will do everything to make their students happy. You want to come in earlier, no problem. You want to train longer than the actual training hours, no problem. You did something stupid and need a bag of ice, no problem. The students are, just like the instructors, welcoming and friendly and always want to help you out. Training sessions are usually around 2 hours give or take (7−9pm during the week) and 3 hours (9 – 12) on Saturdays. All in all a great place to train. You will find plenty of parking in the lot behind the gym. For all you extra fancy people out there I should mention that they have a ring, the floor of the gym is carpeted and has some heavy and speed bags and some mirrors and the bathroom is clean but doesn’t have a shower. Payment is cash, check or deposit as they don’t have a card reader. Again, this might not be your typical highly modernized McDojo with all the juice bars and weight machines you could possibly imagine but it offers what you really need. great training!

Learned how to utilizes my kicks and push kicks effectively… Oumry modeled how to kick and to strike at certain spots. Ron Smith held pads for me… This team helped me understand the science of kicking and push kicks…

I’d like to let people know about our GYM, as one of the fighters that fought out of this gym I have the experience to speak highly about the level of instruction that the students receive. It is time to spread the word about this place on Unilocal.Several years ago I became interested in learning some real striking to complement my grappling, and after doing some research I stumbled upon this place by pure coincidence. At first I was trying to find a Muay Thai gym, and came upon the Long Beach Kickboxing Center through this article:
Needless to say, I was very intrigued and visited the gym shortly after to schedule a private lesson. I met Oumry Ban, the former Camobidan national champion of 5 years, who was a very nice guy, and just has positive energy. You just feel like you are dealing with a very kind person when you’re around him. Up to this point, the only striking I ever did was Tae Kwon Do, so I really had no idea what to expect. The lesson was awesome, during the 90 minutes we went through the whole deal. First they wrapped my hands, then after putting on gloves I did punching work in the ring on pads, learned fundamentals of elbow and knee strikes, and started kick training as well. This is first class instruction, where the instructor is always watching you, correcting you, giving you advice, praising you when you’re doing the right thing. It is one hell of a workout, be forewarned.
This was years ago, and now all the strikes are pretty much second nature to me. This is the kind of training that will actually work real world situations, this is not for show. People use it to compete in MMA, in Muay Thai bouts, and for self defense, and it works. Everyone here is cool, there has never been any of that clique or insider vibe that I’ve seen at some of other fighting camps. Theres thai boxing gyms that are a lot closer to where I live, but I happily drive out the 20 miles or so to get quality instruction from a world class champion in a great environment. Whether you want an insane workout or want to learn striking, (or any of the dozens of reasons people start) it’s definitely worth your time to give this place a shot. It has changed my life in such a positive way I can’t really put it all down in this one review.

Best stand up fighting training in the area. Real fighters train and teach here. The master is a former Muay Thai Champion in South East Asia with real experience. This is a real fight gym; it smells feels like it. They even have their own promoter to get you into the amateur and professional fights if you’re ready for it.
