Memorial Healthtech Laboratories

My doctor sent me to get some general blood tests as part of my annual exam. The order was written on the Memorial Healthtec Laboratories sheet, and there are several locations listed in the back. I went to the Termino location, which is inside the Community Hospital, because it was convenient.
Bad decision!
I give this lab 1 star because the nurse was very very nice. However, after processing my paperwork, copying my insurance card, and making me wait for 20 minutes, she discovered she could not take my blood there because one of the tests the doctor ordered required the sample to be stored in ice. THEY DON’T HAVE ICE at this location. All they had was a little mini fridge, like the ones in hotel rooms.
I could not believe that a laboratory inside a hospital would be unable to process a general, annual blood work order because they don’t have ice. If the whole ordeal didn’t cause me to waste an hour on an empty stomach, it would almost be funny. Instead, I had to pack up and head over to Long Beach Memorial hospital to go to their lab, where apparently they do have ice.
