Wow. I have literally been standing here for five minutes. And not one person has helped me or asked me if I need anything. There is no one in here but me. What is this? Guess I’ll get a couch somewhere else. Great backhanded, sarcastic response from this establishment. I had my navigation up on my phone to check if I was in the correct furniture store because two are listed right next to each other. I wasn’t even using my phone.

Buyer beware! I bought a black leather sectional sofa that started to rip apart at several seams not even a year after it was purchased… and the sofa was lightly used. It’s not like we were using it to camp out at night. Anyway, I contacted them for assistance with repairs. After getting the run around and numerous phone calls and voicemails, I have yet to hear back from anyone… and this was approx 5 months ago. I truly regret purchasing from them. Poor quality products and poor customer service… enough said.

I originally placed order from their zuo catalog in March 2015. Prices were comparable with other«catalog like«furniture store, but went with them based on the fact that they provide free delivery and set up. I paid in full and was given a delivery date of two weeks. Well after 3 weeks I called and was given run a round for another 4-plus months. The only time I talked to someone was when I called. They don’t return phone calls, but always have a dramatic excuse. Finally in June the furniture was delivered but completely damaged. Drawers wouldn’t open, scratched would etc. Add two months more, and still were not ready. Asked for my money back, still 2 more weeks. Owner and manager blame eachother for problems. Would never buy from them again. Disorganized and inept.

So we bought our furniture on 3th of this month and it got delivered on the 20th. We supposed to get them on 15th but they told me they were short staffs and had miscommunication with delivery guy. I understand their situation so it was acceptable. We just needed them before the 29th. Delivery guys came 1hr early than expected time, so I told them they have to wait at least 30mins since the house is vacant. They said they’re willing to wait so I rushed to my house as soon as get off from work. they both were really nice and know how to set up the bed nice and quick. The headboard of the bed was way bigger than I imagined but they managed well to bring it up to second floor. there was no scratch on my walls! me and my husband are really satisfied with our purchase from this store! but I took out 1 star because the next day we found on minor scratch, corner of the headboard. It is not visible major scratch so we didn’t call the store for replacement.

We initially found this listing under«Discount Furniture Warehouse» which made me a little concerned about the quality, as I was looking for a more permanent put-in-my-dream-home bedroom set, but we stopped in anyway. Turns out this place has a really incredible selection of high quality furniture alongside the more affordable pieces. The sales associate really knew her stuff and was able to direct me to several companies that had what I wanted. We had to custom order, but I ended up with exactly what I pictured and she gave us a really good deal on everything. She did underestimate the shipping time a bit, but that really didn’t bother me. No complaints.

Love this store! The designers are incredible and very knowledgable. They helped me furnish my entire home. What was once an overwhelming project became fun and exciting by working with them. I love my home now and will be going back to them next time! The chick with the rug has way too much time on her hands, lol! I had no problems with the staff or the delivery guys, everyone was great!

UPDATE: from 1 star to 3. Finally was able to contact the store owner! He is having the rug delivered in 30 minutes. He seemed genuinely sorry and flustered by the poor job his employees have done. As a former small business owner, I can sympathize. Shame on them! They have been taking his wages and discrediting his company. I would still hesitate to ever pay cash to any company again. I’ll stick to American Express so that disputes are handled quickly. DONOTPAYTHISCOMPANYCASH. I am still waiting(almost 2 months) for a rug that I could have ordered online for the same price and received it in a few days to a week — AND I paid them $ 300 cash so I can’t dispute it with the credit card company or bank. I got a quote from Stephanie on May 30 for furniture and rug. I came in June 2 to purchase the Rolex rug in silver(which you can find at ) so I could match paint and fabric for pillows. First red flag: A male sales associate said the rug was $ 100 more — until I showed him the quote. I paid cash for the rug. I keep calling and Gabriel tells me it’s in their warehouse and they’ll call me back. THEYHAVENEVERCALLEDME. I have called repeatedly, the most recent was Friday, July 3rd. I was given the runaround again by both Gabriel and the other male associate(whose name begins with an «F», Francisco?) and verbally mistreated. I was told there was no manager there,(even though Unilocal lists Gabriel Flores as a manager, they insisted that was wrong). They both said it was in the warehouse and they could have it delivered that Monday or Tuesday, which would have been July 5th or 6th. It is now the 15th and I’ve heard nothing. My phone records can prove that I have not ONCE been contacted by this company. My husband was recently diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease and it’s been stressful — like I need to battle these liars right now. When I asked to just get a refund they told me they would impose the 25% restocking charge. This charge is understandable when someone has ordered custom furniture, BUTUNREASONABLE when it’s a Rolex rug that I could’ve ordered online for the same price and received already! I was going to order a $ 2,200 sofa, but now I’m looking elsewhere. Please note this is the first negative review I’ve ever submitted. I’m extremely frustrated. Without the rug I cannot match paint color etc. My entire move in to this condo has been unnecessarily delayed by bad customer service and unethical tactics. Small claims court filing fee is only $ 30. That’s the next step.

Awesome furniture store! Was looking for specific bar stools and called store and spoke with Francisco. He was very nice and extremely helpful! They didn’t have the bar stools in the store, but I told him I was hoping to have them within 4 days since I had guests coming over. He told me he would check the warehouse and work on getting them for me in time. And YES, I was able to pick them up 3 days later! :) Francisco and the owner, Jeffrey, are great! Quick and easy service! Best prices I’ve seen around! Definitely would shop there again and would recommend!

We bought a coffee table from here about a year ago after moving to Long Beach. They were really helpful and helped us wrap it and get it into our car, and cut us a good deal since it was a floor model and the last one they had. Fast forward to now, and we just bought a house. Meaning we need more furniture for the bigger place. We fell in love with one of the bedroom sets, and also needed a couple of other things like a mattress for our guest bedroom and matching end tables for the coffee table we had bought from here. The salesman actually remembered the coffee table when we described it to him, and unfortunately that manufacturer went out of business but he helped us find something that matched. We haven’t had our delivery just yet so I can’t write anything about that but will update once we get our furniture. The salespeople are really helpful and will try to find the type of furniture you’re looking for in their catalogs if its not in the store once they get a feel for what you want. We’re really happy with them.

This place is the smallest that I’ve been that carry Copeland Furniture and American Leather(trying to find the same manufacturers that have their stuff at «Room and Board»). The authorized Copeland dealer in Garden Grove carried more and as for as American Leather, I felt that City Life also had a larger selection. Nevertheless, they had some interesting pieces and price point was very compelling. Unfortunately they just didn’t carry a large enough selection of the brands I was looking for.

My experience at Metropolitan Design was outstanding. Francisco was knowledgeable and so helpful without ever being pushy! I’ve never been«into» design and therefore wasn’t looking forward to trying to replace my old coffee table. But my wife insisted that the wire spool I’ve been using since college really wasn’t going to cut it anymore. Metropolitan had a ton to choose from and I left the store feeling like I got a great deal, too. Thanks so much!

Don’t know were to start, First thing, the employees are very happy and enjoy their job, Prices are great and you can not beat the selection of items you are able to choose from and customizing your sofa WOW all in one place!!! I first walked in with my wife and child and Francisco approached us asking if we are looking for something particular. Yes a sofa and dining room set, The amount of info he was able to give us was great. It gave us a lot to think about. We took the time to customize our sofa, picked out the dining set we wanted and even purchased a bed, but ultimately Francisco and the metropolitan team gave us what we needed and wanted(working with our budget, Great customer service and delivery in a timely manner) we will be going back soon to purchase more items for our home… Thank you Metropolitan & Francisco for helping us with our furniture…

Extremely easy going sales-persons working at this location purchased my new furniture here when I recently moved into my house. Great price, great furniture-comfy and good looking, cheap delivery and good customer service. What more could you ask for! My salesman was Francisco Javier, didn’t rush me was concerned about my needs. Didn’t try to sell Me anything I didn’t NEED. Best thing was, the TV stand I ordered didn’t fit when they delivered it. No big deal, they helped me pick out a new one and didn’t charge me an extra delivery fee. Awesome!

This is a 1 star rating only because you cannot give less, otherwise would be zero stars. I ordered a sofa from them on January 18 and was told that could have taken 10 to 12 weeks to be delivered because it was a special order and because of the chinese new year(the production is in china). They don’t exactly give importance to customer care or following up your order because, unless you contact them, you don’t hear anything by them. Today, June 16 I don’t have my sofa yet… after 5 months! Yes, I was promised a discount, but is it worth? So, should I recommend this store? According to my experience, even if they have nice things, NO, I don’t recommend it.

Terrible quality and overpriced Waited two weeks past the estimated time to receive furniture. Ended up with a «custom» sectional couch I could’ve bought online for half the price. Received no communication throughout the process unless I contacted them directly. Had less than 24 hours notice before a delivery was made. Once my brand new custom sectional was delivered, discovered a leg was already broken… wonder if I just got a refurbished model. Contacted them to complain, was promised a follow up but never heard back at all. Avoid this over priced place like the plague. You can do a lot better than drop $ 3k on a refurbished, broken down couch. And you deserve to at least have your calls returned.
