Doctors are great and the front office girls and nurses are sweet but I they are not very organized. I have come into the office for appointments and they have had to reschedule. I have come in and they don’t have the supplies needed for my procedure. I don’t understand why they can’t call me the day before to reschedule rather than wasting my time or missing work.

Going into this office I thought how bad can it possibly be? As long as I have a great doctor for delivery, everything should be fine. Meeting Doctor Mayra Contreras was absolutely great! She’s the perfect doctor that I wish I had for my other 2 deliveries. However, the staff made every visit and call miserable! I, like a few others as well; had to do their job for them! Not to mention sending me all the way out to Lynwood hospital for an ultrasound! I’m in Belmont area and I know of plenty clinics my insurance would approve here in the area! Lynwood was In fact horrible also. Paid for parking oh and the mandatory fee to recieve my babies ultrasound pics! I can definitely wait on another to recieve the pics I deserve. I just feel sorry for my minority people who get taken Advantages of in places like this! Michael Cohan office staff has no professional demeanor what so ever. When I would call it was as if my middle school homegirl picked up the phone. Not to mention the search for my file for about 35 min all while its right next to her at her desk! It seemed as though the doctors where concerned about it as well when they would say, (make sure you call the office and have them onto of your file to get things done on time!)
The Doctors where great but the staff was horrible enough to make me leave.

I love Dr. Cogan. He is the best, so kind, very patient with any question or concern, appointment times are pretty punctual unless he is delivering a baby but it’s ok. The comfort and assurance you have makes the waits worth it…

Waited over an hour just to receive test results. They took over 8 people before me even though my appointment was before theirs. Will not be returning to this facility. Staff kept telling me I was next, however they continued to take other patients.

Unsanitary conditions. On first glance, the examination room «looked» clean. However, the plastic, bulk-​pack speculums were sitting, unwrapped inside the drawer of an old/​dirty cabinet. At least leave them in the original plastic bag and use a twist tie to keep it closed. Who knows what types of bacteria are breeding inside that speculum drawer? It’s not a sterile exam, but by all means, it should be as clean as possible. If an exam is not sterile, at least make sure anything that goes «into» the body is «clean.
There was a pair of dirty black socks placed over the stirrups. You’re probably not going to catch anything from the dirty socks so long as you keep your shoes on. Maybe the stirrups are damaged. Fine, wash them down with Bleach or Chlorhexidine, don’t cover them with dirty socks.
As for Dr. Cogan, he spent a total of about 5 minutes with me and jammed that speculum in so hard that it made me wince. I won’t be going back.

Dr Cogan treated me through a very difficult pregnancy. The office staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Dr. Cogan is such an awesome doctor. He is extremely thorough and super personable!!! My delivery was so pleasant. Dr Cogan was so calm, it was very reassuring. I will always use Dr. Cogan for my pregnancies and deliveries!

One star for the staff and facility and 3 stars for the doctor. I have never had such a bad experience at a doctors office in my entire life. My previous obgyn that delivered my two daughters was excellent including his staff but because he is no longer taking patients with an HMO I had to choose a new doctor. The facility is filthy and the staff is completely incompetent. When I would call to ask a question they would tell me to call back after a certain time for the answer. Conveniently they would be closed at that time. I don’t think you should have to call over and over again to make sure things are being handled. I had to call and get my own authorization for my ultrasound then had to schedule my own ultrasound after finding out exactly what forms Dr. Cogan’s staff had to fax over to the Ultrasound office. THEN I had to beg the office to fax over the last form to the Ultrasound office. So, unless you have plenty of time to do all the work yourself, I wouldn’t recommend this office. The doctor was nice but not nice enough for me to deal with the horrible staff. Needless to say I’ve transferred to a new doctors office.

I give Dr. Michael Cogan 5 stars! Very friendly and gentle, the staff is not the greatest but you get what you pay for, the inside it’s old, clocks don’t even have the right time, they still have 2009 announcements for childbirth classes, never leave a message they will never call you back, I come here be cause of DR. COGAN!

DR Cogan has taken care of me since a few months out of his residency. i was one of his very first patients and we have been thru hell and back together with my pregnancys. i have had 4 miscarriages due to genetics and he never gave io on me even when i gave up on my self. i have had multiple surgerys with this man and he is the greatest obgyn dr i have ever me! he has since delivered 2 kids for me amd i have 2 healthy children and never have i had a problem with him. he has also delivered 10 of the last babys of my friends and family. believe me he know each and evey one of our names. i do have to that the staff hasnt always been the friendliest but he makes up for it. i wouldnt see another dr. maybe some costumer service training for the staff might help out. thanks for all the hard work u put into delivering 2 healthy babys for me
