I got my phone stolen at the store and asked for help to the cashier 3 times to say something on the microphone (I would have paid whoever turned it in… no questions asked) the cashier ignored me the 3 times and when I was already exploding because it was ridiculous not have any help from them!!! Kim (supposedly) the manager said she could not do anything besides wait for someone to turn it in. Seriously?! It had just happened!!! She could have helped me if she wanted to but karma got my back Kim! She will come for you! Thank you for nothing!!!

Store manager or manager Jordan on duty and cashier employee is very unprofessional. If you talk about a customer shouldn’t be where they can be heard. Next time, I’ll take my business to another michaels. Won’t be back here. Lakewood is better and Huntington Beach is definitely better and better organized and clean. This store is a mess. No wonder t has such bad reviews. So long michaels town center.

Right away, I do notice how others could say that this particular Michaels is on the cluttered side. All the employees are constantly rearranging the shelves and whatnot.
It just so happens that it’s Christmas season and the more everything and everyone are everywhere in this store! I myself kept going up and down the aisles looking for decorations. Let’s just say we weren’t the only ones. I love it though if you ask me because everyone’s trying to get ideas and everyone’s in the spirit (:
After a couple hours stressing for the end of the year party center pieces, all items are discounted! Starting 12÷6−12÷12 they’re having 50−60%off on Christmas decors. Sweet! For crafty people like me, Michaels is the way to go. I highly recommend this store for artsy peeps. They have everything and anything. What ever school project or creative idea you got, they’ll help you.
Not to mention how quick they got the long line down. They had people scanning items while we were in line. Awesome idea. Parking is never an issue either.

Where I come when the artsy fartsy in me wants to come out. They have a large selection of well, everything related to crafting. You want to scrap book? They got that here. You into knitting? Michaels has that covered. Perler beading (you should prob look it up… I had to)? They’ve got you. Nice selection and wide variety of stuff here from baking supplies to artificial flowers.
On weekends they sometimes offer kids crafts for a nominal fee. We’ve brought our son here a few times and the kiddos can make keychains, picture frames, etc.
The material here isn’t cheap, but check your receipt and oftentimes there will be a 20% of one reg priced item coupon attached. Overall, this place is nice to get all your crafting needs in one location.
FYI — this place gets crazy busy around the holidays

I love Michael’s but hate feeling like a criminal justice because I used a joannes coupon on a sale day. I literally was being talked about and glared at. Never get that feeling at Joannes!

We had a pleasant experience. The staff was helpful and gave us service with a smile. There were lots of people at the checkout line but it moved quickly. If ever in the area, we will be back.

What kind of manager would hire such rude employees? Do they not know that they work in the service industry? Cashier had such a bad attitude and was so rude today that I had to write a review. Avoid this location… terrible

Disorganized. Cluttered. No order whatsoever to this store.
There are sale signs half dangling from the racks. And the sales don’t really seem like sales (whereas at the Michaels I usually go to, they are evident.)
I came here looking for a case for an autographed jersey. They had three cases, which you would assume would be right next to each other, but no, that wasn’t the case. All three sizes scattered throughout an aisle.
I’m not much of a DIY person, but occasionally feel crafty. Things were so scattered here that I wouldn’t know where to begin if I wanted to start a project. I suggest a heavy re-​organization of the store.

After my mother passed away, I was looking for a container for her ashes that would be more affordable that the expensive urns from the mortuary. I notice that decorative boxes were on sale so I decided to buy several of them to hold some of my mother’s belongings that planned to I distribute among my relatives. I really bought more than I needed, but knew that I could return any that I didn’t use.
When I went to return some of the boxes, the cashier had a horrible attitude. She sighed heavily and rolled her eyes. Instead of taking the multiple receipts I had, totaling them and giving me one refund-​like most stores do, she refunded each item individually, didn’t count the change back to me and plopped the money into my hand causing some of the change to fall to the counter!
I had planned on getting my refund and use the money to shop for more items at Michaels, but after this encounter I thought better of it.
You’d think this was the end of the story… but wait… there’s more!
I went to use the restroom before I left only to find a long line. I stood there for a few minutes, hearing no movement inside; I asked a fellow shopper if someone was even in there. She confessed that she didn’t know. I knocked on the door but there was no reply so I asked an employee if he had the key. He said that there was somebody in there and started laughing after another employee commented «just stand there and wait until someone comes out.» I knocked on the door again, still no reply. I went up to them again and had to speak several times to get their attention away from their private conversation and told that that nobody was in the bathroom and could they please get the key to unlock the bathroom door. They looked at each other and giggled again before one them sarcastically said «hold on» and walked away-​never really saying that they would get the key, although they did.
I have been an emotional wreck since my mother died and the last thing I needed was to be treated so rudely by these employees! I really like the products Michaels has to offer but I WILL ABSOLUTLY NEVER EVER RETURN TO THIS STORE!!!

I can’t give a bad review due to the lack of helpful employees, because I didn’t need any help. I just walked in. I got what I was looking for — alphabet stickers in white. It’s a plus that they had a good font. Then, I made my way to the registers. There was a little line — I was the third. It went fast. The checkout was quick, and the employee was friendly enough. I’m giving this place four stars, because it was a bit messy… but that’s all.

Don’t let them tell you you can’t use both a Michaels coupon AND a Joanns coupon together in the same transaction because you can! And they eventually did.

Great customer service in the framing dept. Lauren helped me out and she was awesome! So helpful and patient. She gave great suggestions and really ask lots if questions in what I was looking for! Great prices also. I would defiantly come back.

The people that worked here were so unhelpful and mean. I had a gift card that was on my phone which was checked out by a guy there earlier. Then when I went to checkout the bitch at the counter would not check it because it was not «code». She «checked» with her manager and she would not scan the card. Biggest bitch in the world. Fuck you Michaels.

Pros: Wide variety of merchandise
Cons: No/​very little customer service, can be pricey, for most hobbies merchandise only meets the needs of beginners and intermediate crafters. Bogus competitor coupon policy. Art supplies pricing outlandish.
I go here all the time since it’s very close to my house. Michael’s is pretty well stocked for your basic crafting needs and covers a variety of hobbies. Note that I said «BASIC.» If you’re really into a certain hobby/​craft, you’d probably be better off going to a specialty store where they have more stock and possibly better pricing.
When I go I pretty much have an idea of what I want and know the layout of the store. So I don’t need much help. I do notice, however, that I am almost never approached by store personnel and asked if I need any help. It’s like going to Home Depot, where you have to hunt down employees to get any help.
When I do get help a lot of the times it isn’t any better than what I could do myself. For instance, once I went in looking for star-​shaped glitter. The staff suggested 2 places. When I went around the store more I found it in 5 different places.
When I ask non-​stock questions about the merchandise it doesn’t get better. For instance, if you were to ask what the advantages of using bamboo yarn are, you may or may not get an answer, it just depends on which sales associate you ask. Now I know that knowledge in all the different crafts Michael’s sells supplies for would be difficult for one person. But other places assign people to different departments and expect them to have knowledge in that area. That way someone who doesn’t know the answer can call the person assigned to that department. It doesn’t appear to work that way at Michael’s.
They always run 40% off a single item coupons, so be sure you get this. You can run an internet search and find one quite easily.
I do have one beef about their competitor coupon policy. They say you can use competitor coupons. In this case it usually means Joann’s. But when you use the coupon they effectively make it a Michael’s coupon by excluding items that were not excluded on the Joann’s coupon. For example, if you have a 40% off coupon from Joann’s that doesn’t exclude books, when you use it at Michael’s, they’ll say you can’t use it on books even though the Joann’s coupon says differently. What’s the use of accepting competitor coupons then?
And, if you are going there for art supplies, STOP. Their art supplies are way overpriced. Even with a 50% off coupon (yes, 50%, not 40%), their prices are just about average. For art supplies in this area go to the Art Supply Warehouse (Westminster). If you wait for their twice yearly sale you can get your supplies at 25% off. So for example, if you have 50% off Michael’s coupon (a 50% coupon does not happen often), and something there costs $ 25 regular price, you’d pay $ 12.50 plus tax at Michael’s. But Art Supply Warehouse will probably have that item for about $ 12.50 their regular price. And if you get it at their twice yearly sale, it’ll be $ 10. Not only that, but the Michael’s coupon only cover one item. So if you want to paint, you’ll only be able to get one item – canvas, a tube of paint, or a paintbrush, for example.

This store has the best Michael’s staff!
We went on Thanksgiving day, and were pleased on how quiet the place was. No lines or crazy shoppers here! This was also the only Michael’s staff were someone actually approached us and asked if we were doing okay. I did not have to hunt anyone down for 10 minutes.
Lauren was the sales associate, and we bombarded her with questions. She answered each and every one pleasantly, and even looked in the back for the item that we wanted, after she scoured the aisle herself for it. She then asked another associate to help her out, but let us know, that if the item wasn’t available, that perhaps she could find a store that might have it.
Fortunately, the item was found, and it was brought to the register so we did not have to lug it around. We already had 3 carts between the 2 of us =).
While we returned to shopping, a male associate asked us if we wanted him to hold the carts up front since there were 3, but we declined since we were almost done anyway. The same male associate (his cool but difficult name starts with an A) also offered to help us to our car and even lifted the 2 heavy items in the trunk. Thank you very much!
My complaints with this Michael’s store are that the aisles are SO very narrow. Only one cart can fit in most spots, and the carts are half the size of regular grocery carts, so that’s saying a lot. Also, somehow, huge rolling ladders seemed to block some parts of the store where I wanted access. I encountered 2 during my shopping spree. I assumed the ladders were following me, lol.
This store was not messy like other Michael’s. Perhaps, they had stocked and organized it well to prepare for Black Friday.
That, or they really have the best Michael’s staff.

They didn’t have what I needed! But that could be any where. This place is nice, clean, not too crowded, pretty east to maneuver though the aisles seem a bit compact. As if you’re going to run into the next fixture or oncoming person no matter what direction you’re trying to go.

Took the cake decorating class thinking that it would help me learn and perfect my decorating techniques but this class is a total joke. The Wilton cake decorating class A scam. They get you in at 50 a class or the half off rate but they don’t tell you that you would need to purchase all these additional things before signing up. I nearly spent over $ 150. Don’t waste your time, better off searching on YouTube.
The class is run by an employee who doesn’t really explain into details. I was expecting an actual Wilton employee not a random michaels cashier.
Freaking waste of my time and money guys. No refund on classes.

This is one of the nicer Michaels I’ve been to. I didn’t like having my elderly mom wait for someone to put a code in for the bathroom. Okay, she’s not that old, but she really had to go and could do the pee pee dance no longer. Tangent, I know. Okay, so… They have a good selection and the staff seemed pretty friendly to everyone else but us. The line was long for a week day and they definitely needed more cashiers.

How can I say thank you to someone that has helped me in such a big way. I was searching for a way to move past a lifelong wrong. You see, I am a high school dropout and as the oldest of 5 kids, this tarnished my family and left a lasting stain for over 20 years. As a family that is so big on education, I went off in search of happiness in other pursuits.
Recently, I went back to school and received my bachelor’s degree. This experience helped me to continue onto grad school. When my degrees arrived I needed something special to commemorate this special event. Initially I only wanted two frames (mom and dad) but ended up purchasing three (Aunt Ling). I was so impressed with Jeremy’s craftsmanship that we ended up with 6 frames in total. The three degrees were mounted and framed so professionally well that I decided to give all three recipients two frames (one filled and one empty). This way when the MBA program wraps in April of 2013, I was motivated to continue on knowing that the graduate work would is eventually displayed as a reminder to my family that I did it and to myself to stay the course. Jeremy, like I said thank you is simply not enough for what you helped me to both see and achieve through your work.
