This restaurant is now closed. There appears to be a new burger place that will be opening soon.

The hot dogs were fine. Available steamed or grilled which was nice. We came in ordered and were the only ones there around 3 pm. My husband while ordering mentioned he was going to be ordering more after he sampled a couple from the menu but when we got up to put in another order the guy said they were closed. The hours on the storefront said they should have been open until 6. It was weird. I guess he didn’t want more money that day.

Love their Chicago dogs and they have regular and jumbo depending on your appetite. Car wash is right across the street and you can hit two birds with one stop. Great taste!

Before you come here, you should ask yourself: what are you expecting to get? So keep in mind that this is not some fancy restaurant on Wilshire blvrd, this is a simple place, ran by simple people, who make simple food, and sometime that all you need! The place is always busy, which prove that they have something good(And that there is a constant movement). And they have a large selection of hot dogs. Nothing amazing, nothing to drive hours and wait in lines for, just dam good hot dogs.

Very disappointed fellow Unilocalers! I thought this place would have similar flavor to Chicago Harv’s in Fullerton, wrong! On top of the sub-par hot dog the service wasn’t the best. I was the only customer in the place and just as I started to get interested in what was on the TV, they came and changed the channel without asking! Flashbacks to remote control fights with my brother, except I was a paying customer. Want a delicious hot dog? Go to costco on Willow & Cherry Want cheap local eats? Go across the street to Dave’s Burgers, better food, better service, and the gas station parking lot has better ambiance! HA!

Too expensive. Chili dogs were a dollar too much. Canned sodas are 1.85 give me a break!!! Most I ever paid for a canned soda was 1.00. Hot dog taste what you will get at a movie theatre.

Mustard’s is a small hole in the wall hot dog place in Bixby Knolls. When you walk in, you kind of go back in time to the 1970’s because I don’t think much has changed since from the wood paneling, booths and the old menu boards. Overall a solid hot dog and better than other places in LB that supposedly specialize in hot dogs. I went with the Wrigley Field which this the spicy version of a Chicago Dog. A combo will set up you back about $ 8 which includes fries and a drink. The portions are just the right size to fill you up.

Just got home from this place 20 minutes ago and never going back. Got ice cream with my 13 yo nephew and stopped to check this place out because of reviews. Only one other person waiting for their order. We sat down to show we were not ready to order. Immediately the Asian guy says«Ready?» Me: Not yet. I need a minute. 30 seconds later. Asian guy: Ready? Me: No, it’s our first time here. We’re still looking over the menu. I’m asking if my nephew wants anything and Asian guy points out the special and asks again about a minute later if I’m ready. I say yes but realize I left my wallet in the car. He’s asked me 3 times in just over 2 minutes and I’m pretty irritated. I return a few seconds later and order the Comiskey(Polish with grilled onions) but they are — get this — out of grilled onions. What? Whatever. We stumble with the condiments because of the language barrier. I simply wanted mayo instead of mustard but it was getting to be too much and I just wanted to get SOMETHING and gtfo already. Then. THEN. THEYASKEDIFWANTEDRAWONIONSINSTEADSINCETHEYAREOUTOFGRILLEDONIONS! Hey that’s kind of you but I hate raw onions but. WHYONTHEFROZENLAKESOFICESKATINGHELLCANYOUNOTGRILLTHOSERAWONIONS? Even my nephew is annoyed with them rushing us to order then having to wait 15 minutes for a hot dog. He began calculating how many dungeons he could complete on his MMOs as we waited… Then he asked to see the glorious hot dog that we wasted all this time on. So I present to you my jacked up Comiskey. Polish dog, no grilled onions with mayo and relish. 1 star because the snap on the dog was Ace. Nephew: Auntie, that looks like some Dollar Tree hot dog. Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

Great hot dogs. Jumbo chicago dog is my favorite. It’s all beef and comes with onions, slice of pickle, and a wedge of tomato which makes it all perfect. The owner runs the shop and he is very sweet and polite. Couple of chairs and tables outside for customers and inside they have enough space for a large group. They do take out also. If you are in rush, just call and place your order. Location is convenient since it’s just off the 405.

I’m so tired of «restrooms are for customers only». I understand you don’t want vagrants in your restaurant but my 8 year old son isn’t a vagrant and neither am I. He just needed to use the restroom. Your staff has the mental fortitude to tell the difference. And just because I didn’t buy anything this time doesn’t mean I haven’t bought lots of food from you before, so technically I’m the best type of customer: a returning one. Well, I WAS a returning customer. I won’t ever be back now because you don’t seem like you care about people very much.

This place is a hole in the wall that does serve authentic Chicago style hot dogs complete with celery salt. They are vienna beef, they are char-broiled. Expect about $ 4 for a hot dog minimally, but its 100% better than Costco. P. S. My colleague was able to get it wrapped in bacon or «Sonoran style.»

Finally got to try this place out since I got off work earlier than usually. This place closes well before I make it home at 5:30pm. I got the chili Polish dog and chili cheese fries. The dog was pretty good. Beefy and juicy on a soft bun. The fries were skinny but crispy and the chili was amazing. Rich in flavor and not too spicy or overly meaty. I will be back to try their other hot dogs. I hope you will try this place too.

First time here and am not a huge fan of hot dogs but I had a craving and this place was recommended. I get there like 40 minutes before closing and the owner was kind enough to give us full service. I got the hot polish with grilled onions and fries– for me the dog was huge and yes overall the hot dog hit the spot(delicious) and filling, nothing like the typical dogs, or that I have tasted before(that nasty after taste).

This place has so much charm, I actually completely forgot that I had eaten here once before. They make hot dogs here, and they make them pretty damn well. I know that you can easily go down the street to Costco and grab a hot dog for much cheaper, but it’s the same show over and over. This place has tons of variety, and their hot dogs aren’t just sitting around all day, waiting to be fished out for your consumption like other places! The parking situation can be a little tough during lunch, but I believe you can always sneak a little bit by parking by the Denny’s and walking over… Shhh… A Chicago-style hot dog with all the fixings, French fries(thin and crispy, the way I like!) and soda will set you back about $ 7, but I think it’s worth the money and visit. Come here to treat yourself every now and then, it’s nice to see what little random places you’ll find in Long Beach.

Finally… I don’t have to wait 3 years between hot dog fixes. FINALLY! Now, it’s not 100%, but this is the closest I’ve come to finding a true Chicago-style dog in California. Snappy skin on the dog, juicy innards, super fiery sport peppers, mustard as artificial-yellow as the crayon-drawn sun on a child’s painting. A bun as squishy and sponge-like as Play-Doh mixed with Nickelodeon Gak, covered with poppy seeds that fall off as soon as the bun is touched and speckle all of your clothing with little black dots. It even looks like you’re in Chicago when you walk in — there’s no attention paid to lighting, the dim backlit beige of the menu board makes you squint, and the benches are as curved and uncomfortable as the seats at Wrigley. And the fries. The fries! Skinny, hot, and at least 50% crisped hot oil, they dissolve into a greasy, salty spot on your tongue as soon as you bite into them. I think I’m going to have to do some experimenting with what the names of the dogs translate to out here. I ordered the Comiskey Park Pole(despite my allegiance to the Cubs — which might have been my problem) and it came out, well, a hot dog. Not really a Polish. You could almost call it a char dog, I guess. I remember in Boulder, CO I ordered a char dog at another place called Mustard’s and it came out a Polish sausage, so I may try doing that next time and see what happens. Fix your bathroom, Mustard’s — you really need to have one available to customers — and I’ll probably throw you the fifth star as long as a real Polish sausage is available under SOME name or another.

A chili dog for lunch sign me up. I’ve eaten hot dogs at mustards for many years and the food has always been good Its always clean and the owners are friendly. I ordered a Chicago fire dog with chili cheese and french fries. The hot dog was juicy spicy and flavorful the chili was thick and rich very tasty my only issue was the bun it was covered in black sesame seeds which I did not like but the bun was tender and held up perfectly with all that chili sauce on my next visit I’ll ask for a regular bun. This hot dog was a bite after bite of juicy deliciousness. The French fries were thin very crispy and seasoned to perfection those were the best fries that I’ve tasted in a long time. An icy cold orange crush was perfect with my meal. Would I eat here again definitely… A Chicago dog and a Red Hot with grilled onions and spicy mustard is next on my must try list. This place is no Pinks that’s for sure but the food is good and I don’t have to face long lines to buy it and everything is cooked to order. There is no pre-cooked food here and that’s a good thing.
