New Wave

Went here to buy some button ups, really cool clothes– great selection and reasonable prices. They had some good sales racks too where I was able to get a few shirts and a pair of board shorts for half off. Employees were cool and easy to talk to– Rod helped me find some sick apparel and the kid at the front, Jack, was nice and easy to talk to. Would recommend to anyone shopping for nice quality clothing in long beach.

This place is amazing! I’ve shopped here before, but this time I tried their online store. I was pleasantly surprised by the user-​friendliness and look of the website. It was fast and easy. I chose in-​store pick up and Mo had the watch waiting for me right when I walked in. I couldn’t ask for a better experience.

A store with no customer respect. This store is a store that I bought a watch at. They first tell me that I can return a product when I brought it. Now they say it is final sale when I’m trying to return it back in the store. Mo isn’t the man who helped me when buying but he is now saying that I can’t return this product after so many employees at this work establishment certainly said I could. I am never coming back here to buy anything. They’re way cheaper places that have the same products. Thought this was going to be a great place but very disappointed with everything this place has to offer. Never returning.

Dude Mo is legit. This guy is always super chill, and this store is impossible to leave without buying more than you went in for. Every time my boyfriend and I come in he always gets a bunch of stuff. They always seem to have exactly what he’s looking for, which is great. We will definitely be back!

Only went once, and the service was terrible! Not sure about these other reviewers but it wasn’t great service. I didn’t feel welcome, I wasn’t welcomed, they gave me a dirty look when I asked about an item, etc. Never going again.

New wave always has the nicest staff! I wish they had girl clothes though. They also have great deals and sale items. Great for skater/​surfer boys.

A business is only as good as it’s customer service. New Wave is definitely on top of the customer service game. They order a pair of sunglasses for me and kept me informed till pick up. Came in here for some last minute surf equipment but they no longer have equipment in stock. This is only a clothing store. The man working there was very polite tho, and directed me to the nearest surf shops.

Quality threads here. Great selection of men’s board shorts and shirts. I got a slick 7Diamonds short sleeve button up and a new casual RVCA T-​shirt. Highly recommend this place if you wear a causal comfortable beach style.

I really love New Wave and the selection of clothes they carry here. There’s a wide variety of brands carried here from Obey, RVCA, The Hundreds, Vans, Huff, Diamond Supply CO, Billabong and much more. Staff are always friendly and willing to help you find what you need. Periodically there’s a sidewalk sale that really has great deals. Overall sweet spot to keep you looking great!

I love this place. I have to restrain myself from going at least once a month because i’ll spend too much money. They carry only the best of each line in their stock and their prices are great. The staff is awesome as well, really cool guys.

i got my daughter a pair of shoes and needed to exchange them and they sent me directy to the toms website it had only been one week!!!

If I could give negative stars I would. The clothing is cool sure, but when you’re selling brands like rvca how could they not be. The service is a totally different story.
My boyfriend and I stopped by this place one summer day looking for a new pair of swim trunks. He wanted some rvca trunks that were about 70ish bucks.
…but from the MOMENT we walked in… the two owners (older men, not like the younger kids i’ve seen working there before) stalked us around the entire store like we were meat on a stick! I have NEVER felt so… i don’t even know… offended… they gave us death stares like we were going to be eaten alive and then once my boyfriend picked the swimsuit he liked and we walked up to pay for it. one of the owners asked for my ID… i explained that I was paying debit because i didn’t bring my wallet (we were going to the beach) he was so rude and refused the sale!!! 70 bucks debit, and you’re going to refuse a sale?! I’ve been asked for my ID with credit but im paying debit, its my card, i know my pin number.
He must hate business or something, or maybe he just hated us

I like shopping here a lot. The staff is very personable and friendly. The items are pricey but with the brands they sell that what i expect walking into the store.
I recommend this place to anyone who can afford it.

.., I dig this place. If you’re into rocking pea coats & some of the other fresh gear they have, stop by. There’s a chance you may spend a pretty penny here though, but they usually have a good selection in my opinion. Alot of RVCA wear which I like alot, & a few other brands that may catch your eye. Staff is usually friendly. Check em’ out

My friends and I were walking down 2^nd street not too long ago killing some time while our «approximately an hour» long wait time at Lucille’s was ticking down when I spotted this store. Loving to see the words «surf» and «sale» in front of any shop, I walked in just to check it out.
The guy behind the counter was extremely nice and, although there was only one other set of customers in the store, he wasn’t too pushy over overly attentive like I’ve seen in other slow retail shops. I picked up a few basic tanks from Active for a decent price and was given a card for 20% off for any other future purchases. If you venture into skate/​surf shops, you pretty much know how they’re laid out. New Wave doesn’t have the selection like Tilly’s but they make up for it by having more decent items on sale and having some selections for brands other than the usual big players.

I needed a new pair of flip-​flops for my trip to Hawaii.
I couldn’t find some while at Target. None that were any good really. I’ve bought pairs there before and they always come apart so quickly. So I figured I had better invest more money into a pair. I went down 2^nd St and figured I would go to Tilly’s since it was close by. I had a stop over at Barnes and Noble so I would be making my stop to Tilly’s afterward. Well on the way down second. I saw that this store had opened.
I had seen the Coming Soon sign a number of times and this time it was gone, the place was open and what did I see in the front of the store as we drove by? Flip-​Flops! Soooo… I ended up going here instead.
The place was dead. D-​E-​A-​D. Just to guys at the counter, having a conversation, listening to a music that was a little too loud. One did take the time to tell us that everything was 20% off and that there were racks in the back of the store that were 60% off. I can understand why. The store is located at towards the end of 2^nd St and with Tilly’s and the new Van’s store. I am sure that many are going there instead. It’s hard to compete with those name stores.
I looked at the rack in the front of the store and then moved to the flip-​flops along the wall. Not many in my size, which I figured would be the case. However I was still able to find a pair that I liked I was set for Hawaii.
I don’t have much else to say. I probably won’t go back. Plus I am sure the place won’t last too long anyway.
