Orange County’s Credit Union

Serves all my needs. This is the location I visit when I’m in LB since I attend CSULB and also work in the area, this is a great spot whenever I need to do my daily maintenance of withdrawals and deposits. The service is great although sometimes very slow.

I just have to take a moment to recognize the amazing staff at Orange County Credit Union Long Beach. First of all I have never had an unpleasant experience at this branch. All of the staff are definitely friendly and knowledgeable. I did have two separate issues over the course of the last week that needed attention… and I was very impressed as to how well the issues were handled. I was helped by Dayana Hidalgo, and Shanna Ickler on separate situations. Both of these women are amazing! They handled the issues on the spot and exceeded my expectations. Dayana spent the better part of an hour with me and made sure that when I walked out the door I had everything I needed to fulfill escrow requirements that should have taken 5 – 7 days! Taking the time she took and her diligence helped my family more than I can say! I also want to recognize Vanessa, an amazing teller at this branch. She is so helpful and has such a great attitude. She also recently took the time to provide me with a list of branches I can utilize because my family and I are relocating. I will really miss the staff that I have come to love here, they are outstanding. Thank you Dayana, Shanna, and Vanessa… you’re all awesome!

Few times have I seen customer service as amazing as here. Every time I visit this branch I have a great experience, but this last one tops them all. Dayana is amazing. She worked so hard to make sure i was a happy customer, connected with me on a personal level, communicated every ounce of my loan throughly, and really made this experience pleasurable. She knew I was in a time crunch for work and she was able to fulfill my needs while I was away. I cannot thank her and Lynn enough for their hospitality.

This bank is awesome! Never have problems with them — plenty of great customer service. They do free notaries! No long lines like these other big corp banks! Overall very happy with these guys! ;-)

I had a bad experience a year ago so hopefully things have improved since. Staff was unprofessional. An example amongst the various things that happened: One employee was almost yelling at the employee helping me. Their computers were having problems so we had to move to a different desk. The rude employee was upset that we sat in her desk. I don’t know if her complaint was legitimate but her way of communicating was totally inappropriate in a professional atmosphere.

Kim is the best bank teller I have ever had the pleasure to encounter. She makes you feel like you matter and is always kind and extremely friendly. She has the BEST customer service skills I have ever seen… anywhere. I think she needs credit for being such an outstanding person! Thank you Kim!

Excellent customer service and banking here as always been a breeze. This location is a little more of a pain in the butt only because of the tight parking lot right next to Chipotle (convenient for me — who doesn’t love Chipotle?).
A great perk to this location is that they have a coinstar machine that is free for customers to use. You just have to take the slip to the teller and they reimburse the fee that the machine automatically charges.

My review is bitter-​sweet (and I never leave reviews unless they are good being a business owner myself), but first off I have to say I have a car loan through OCCU and was a client of theirs for years but recently moved and had to change banks for the convenience factor. I decided to stay with them with my car loan and needed to re-​finance it and let me tell you, customer service was HORRIBLE. Dealing with Nila and Dianna. I was never informed on what was going on, I had to do most of the follow up and even then, never got returned phone calls. They were never available whenever I called to weak with them. Baseline: communication sucked.
BUT… I would like to give 10 STARS to Shanna Ickler who helped me and listened to me and answered all of my questions and did it in a short amount of time. Its employees like her that make a business successful. She was wonderful and so helpful. She made it seem SO easy and accommodating whereas Nila and Dianna made it confusing and hard to do. THANK YOU SHANNA! 10 stars for you cause OCCU is lucky to have you!!!

Orange County’s Credit Union was easy to do business with and starting an account was a snap. I later had to replace a stolen card and they had it done in 5 minutes at the branch.
Stop doing business with major banks folks and join a credit union.

First of all, I want to start off by saying «ISAAC is amazing!!!»
Ladies and Gentlemen, he is the reason I have been banking solely with Credit Unions pretty much my entire life.
Situation: Bought a new car and needed 100% financing
Outcome: Was a member of this credit union about 5+ years ago, but switched to another one and then wanted to come back, because of the 110% customer service provided by my last auto loan. I was traveling in and out of the state on business and the amazing Isaac helped me to put not only my loan, but my whole reinstatement (checking, savings, debit card, … basically my life) together again within a week and a half.
I personally made sure that I would drive to the branch and make a deposit (I usually do ATM’s) and ask for him. I apparently felt bad, because I pulled him out of his lunch, but he came out and I got to shake his hand and personally thank him for his efforts. Communication both over the phone and email were flawless.
RECOMMENDED!

The tellers are kind, and are easy to have small talk with. Support credit unions!

I no longer have to bank in the hood. *relief*
As a credit union member I was often limited to where I could go to have my banking needs met. I don’t pay for my banking account, but I pay at the gas pump when I’m forced to drive up to the Bixby area or even as far as Downey if I want to visit one of my own branches.
But no more… because Orange County CU is in my neighborhood.
They’re open until 7pm! I don’t have to drive like a maniac across town if I need to get a money order for my landlord. Long story… but I pay my rent like I live in the hood.
The location is in the bustling, well-​lit traffic circle where lots of police officers hang out. I don’t feel like my life is in danger like when I had to go to the darkened CU in a seedy neighborhood. It’s a small branch location with only 2 – 3 windows with tellers. So if you arrive when it’s crowded you might have to wait a bit, but everyone is so nice and there’s no bullet-​proof glass which puts me at ease.
Banking the way it should be, civilized and safe.
