I was looking forward to trying this place after I saw that they changed ownership and renamed it «Phở 881»… But we ended up severely disappointed. Beyond that actually. As for the place itself, it looks like they just added a new coat of paint(on top of the surely countless layers of old paint underneath those walls). The menu was noticeably edited down, which is not a bad thing, IF every dish is executed flawlessly. However our dishes were far from that. The broth was insipid. Just truly bland. We had to add condiments to give it some flavor. Which is truly unfortunate, because I’m a purist when it comes to broths, soups and Phở. As soon as we finished eating and left the restaurant, the reaction was practically immediate. Both my husband and I started having stomach issues, and our stomach growling was intense! We had to immediately go straight home as BOTH of us got sick! I don’t know if the meat they used was terribly past due, or if the kitchen and/or staff are just dirty and we ended up with contaminated dishes… but there’s really no other explanation. Both my husband and I are accustomed to eating Phở and spicy dishes(at least 2 times a week), and this reaction from a simple bowl of Phở was like nothing we’ve ever had before. Our stomach issues lasted for a solid 2 and half days. So I’m writing this review to warn others to STAYAWAY, unless you’re looking for an excuse to get food poisoning. Needless to say, we will never come back to Phở 881.

I came here with my family on the weekend for their grand opening. We usually go to the phở restaurants in Little Saigon, but decided to try something outside of Orange County. This place served very delicious phở! I ordered the Phở Chin, Bo Vien and thought it was amazing! The broth was very tasty with full of flavor from the beef. The pieces of meat were flavorful and tender. There was more than enough noodles to keep me full for the rest of the night. Most places don’t give you much, but this one definitely was very gracious! They also served the phở with a generous amount of fresh veggies and limes. You can really tell that they want to make their customers happy and treat them with fresh quality and tasty food. They are also offering a special for their grand opening too! You’re able to choose from a FREE Thai tea or refreshment drink with your meal. I had the refreshment drink and it was SO good and refreshing. The flavor was sweet with a herbal taste. It was delicious! The service was also great! There was plenty of seating to choose from. They seated us quickly and took our orders. They were very prompt with getting our drinks and the food came so fast! So it’s great if you’re coming hungry. You’ll definitely come hungry and leave completely satisfied and happy with your visit. I’d definitely make the trip back to Long Beach for the delicious phở and prompt service!

This place looks and smells like it’s seen better times. The soup is bland and the bowls are cheap, but there’s less food so I think it’s a wash. We finished eating and I was still hungry, but we sat around talking because I didn’t want to eat anything else there. The soup settled in the bowl in distinctly two layers which leads me to believe most of the flavor was something like bouillon and the rest was just water. The bathroom was so dark, I felt like I was in one of those photographry closets. I think they kept it that dark so you couldn’t tell it was dirty. But it smelled terrible. Don’t go here.

Best phở in long beach in my opinion. Customer service is fair and food comes out fast if you’re getting phở. Pricing is fair and inexpensive; large bowl of phở is 6.95. It comes with a lot of tender meat and brisket. This place is my go to for phở especially if hungover

Definitely one of the best Phõ spots in Long Beach and around. Everything is very authentic! Also the broth they make is very, very good. Not watered down and not too sweet. Perfect! I’ve been coming here for years and keep coming back!!!

Those 1 star reviews look suspect. I had a bowl of phở thai here this morning for breakfast and it was delicious. Let me break it down on a scale from 1 to 10: Broth: 10 –it’s perfect. Veggies: 9 –fresh, they give an ample amount, clean Beef: 9 –came out rare, like it’s supposed to, ample amount Noodles: 9 –really soft, some might say they were overcooked but I enjoyed them Sauces: 10 –they had 2 types of hot sauce(Siriacha and chili oil) as well as the hoisin The service was good, albeit not busy and pretty warm inside. No AC? Food came out quickly and it was just $ 6.80. Good phở for cheap, can’t ask for much more… except maybe some AC… please? I would not go out of my way to eat here but If you’re passing through, it is a solid bowl of phở.

Terrible, discriminatory customer service! My father was just told to leave the restaurant after trying to order phở with shrimp. Mind you English is not his first language, but instead of showing him their menu which contains pictures(in color) they decide to rudely ask him to leave. My siblings and I usually order and pick up orders for our parents and never imagined this would happen the first time one of our parents set foot in this restaurant. Luckily he found another restaurant right down the strip where he was greeted warmly. The location is convinient to our family but the food has never been great anyway. From here on out we will take our business elsewhere. Shame on your staff who participated in this unbelievable and sad behavior.

In all, this place was ok. I’m not much of a big phở person but my boyfriend finally convinced me to join him. Upon arrival, the place looked outdated but homey. The décor clashed and I felt like I was in an 80s movie. Then again, I’m no interior designer… so, to each his own. On to the food. My boyfriend, who please keep in mind was hungover, ordered the shrimp noodle soup. I’m not much of a big soup person, so I opted for the shrimp fried rice. It was ok. The portion was great but there was nothing special about that dish. I pretty much drenched the rice in sriracha sauce because the dish just begged for some heat and flavor. The phở, was actually pretty flavorful. The broth was hot, salty and comforting. My boyfriend was sweating out those hangover toxins within minutes. Overall, atmosphere and food was eh. Very nice people but the dishes were nothing out of this world. Side note: the chili paste on the tables was so good. Spicy and sweet… and then spicy again. I’m guessing it’s home made… whatever the case, so good.

The phở is good but the Service is horrible, the lady brought us dirty plates with food on them, I ask her to take it back and all she does was wipe it wtf??? I smell it, and it was disgusting, i’m considering contacting the health department, put a formal complaint in, we ordered one plate and they gave us something we didn’t even order, i used to enjoy this place but the lady is so disrespectful I’ll never go back again, if I’m paying for food I want clean plates at all times… this is now the worst place to order food from in Long Beach, consider a different place for phở, I would never go back there again!!!

Feeling sick, hungover, etc? Don’t mind the negative reviews… This is one of the best spots for authentic phở, feel good therapy! One of the best broths around in my opinion… Reason for low reviews is the bad service from some staff… But the cooks are awesome and the phở is excellent… When you are able to clean a bowl of phở to the last drop and leave nothing left, that’s when you know its good… This is one of my top favorite phở places next to sup noodle bar in Fullerton. I hadn’t been here for almost 10 years, but the food was as good as I remembered it. The reason phở hanh gets 4 stars from me is particularly for their delicious broth. No other spot matches the perfectness of the flavor. The noodles also seem to be fresh/homemade which stands out to me from other phở spots. This is one of those times you have to sacrifice bad service for good flavor. In regards to service, phở comes out almost instantly on a slower day. The owner however/or the old man working the cashier gave me poor customer service; as I was trying to pay he left me hanging several times, occupied with other things and would not give me the time of day to pay my bill. In addition, I ordered some other items to go but they could not get my order right as they barely speak English here. Better luck next time with the service, but luckily for them there will be a next time because of the good food.

The phở here is better than most long beach phở places in terms of the actual soup. The broth was perfect, the meat was a good portion and good quality and not overcooked. I’m very picky about brisket in particular and theirs is very tender. My rare steak was okay, but a lot can go into how that tastes which are beyond management. I did have an issue with their condiments however… the hoisin sauce was kind of old, the basil they gave me was ugly, it was soggy, their was a lot of wear and tear on the leaves and a lot of the better ones were very small. their chili oil was stuck to the inside from being stale. They also didn’t have siraicha garlic chili with the seeds, which is a bit of a disappointment. I’m not a fan of sriraicha hot sauce personally, and a lot of phở places do usually give you more options for spicing up your phở. And when I grabbed the sauce later a fruit fly flew from the top of the spout and stuck around my table :/ The restaurant also doesn’t have a grade posted on the front, which is a bit worrisome because that usually doesn’t mean good things(as someone who’s worked at several restaurants I do know the standards restaurants have to meet and the grading scale) I’m not personally a big person on customer service when I go to eat phở. It’s not supposed to be fancy, it should be relaxing and I did appreciate they weren’t all in my face, and the phở came in record timing very hot. GREAT phở all in all, but I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon. Management should rly put more effort into the details of the restaurant, it has great potential because of the phở.

This is not the best phở joint but it’s not the worst either. Not being catered to on hand and foot is fine for me. When I need something I look for someone, get their attention and ask. It’s an ideal location, plenty of room on the inside no matter the time of day. People I’ve brought here like it. The broth is ok across the board I reckon. Again, not the best but not the worst. The complaints/reviews on Unilocal are funny to me. It’s an old school phở joint in Long Beach– how fancy or hipsterish do people expect it to be? If I could I’d give an extra half star but I can’t so I won’t. The tables are famously mucky but so is your face so I guess we’re even.

If you don’t care about customer service, or eating in a nice hip place this place it for you. Even though they lack those things they still make a good bowl of Phở. Where else can you get a delicious cup of soda egg. Just imagine your eating at a street vendor and you’ll be fine.

My sisters and I came here to eat phở and the phở here was soooooo blaaaaaand! Server came once, waitress did not check up on us. Bad first impression. My sister said it was good the first time she came. Hmmm. I couldn’t enjoy the phở.

Close to work soup joint. Been here many times, but this was the first visit in quite some time and my first review. I was originally turned on to this place by a co-worker and boy oh boy, am I glad that he did. I like the Phở here, it’s pretty darned tasty, especially after throwing in some peanut and red sauces. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of the food. The spring rolls are large, fresh and just plain good. Givin’ ‘em a little dip in the peanut sauce goes a long, long way. Gourmet? No way… But I don’t believe that was their intent either. The service sometimes leaves little to be desired. While generally fast, they seem to be a bit aloof, almost as though they are doing YOU a favor by allowing you to eat there. But, if you can get by that, you will be rewarded… Parking situation sux. You may be lucky to get a spot in the lot(which is shared by multiple other businesses) or a spot on Anaheim street, which almost seems like you are taking your life into your own hands. Still… worth multiple repeat visits.

I like Phở. Especially when it’s overcast and a little chilly. Nothing like a noodle soup for days like that. So, that’s why I ended up at Phở Hanh for lunch one day. There was a lot of parking as it’s in a decent sized strip mall. Typical Vietnamese restaurant — walk in, get seated, place your order, receive your order then walk up to the counter to get paid. If you want service, go elsewhere or make sure to catch someone’s attention because followup service is more of a luxury, as opposed to part of the job, it seems. As for the food, it’s a little on the smaller side than I’m used when having Phở. But the broth was hot — not too sweet; a decent portion of ingredients(ordered the dac biet) and the noodles were cooked just right. My coworker had a beef dish that was served on a sizzling platter that looked and smelled pretty good. It’ll probably be what I try when I visit next. Unless it’s overcast and chilly again …

This place has a hole in the wall feeling, a bit dingy. The service is a little spotty but its a mom-and-pop place so what can you expect. The phở here is good– tasty soup and normal portions. a few of the drink and menu items were«out» when I tried to order(lucky me I like to order the weird stuff sometimes). not a place you’d wanna take date, more like a place you’d go with a bf/gf/friends(aka no one to impress) if you were in the area — the foods good, the atmosphere is bleh
