THEREWEREUNATTENDEDSAMPLESOFCHOCOLATECHIPCOOKIES! GOODCHOCOLATECHIPCOOKIES! UNATTENDED!!! Other than that, great staff, among other things. Nice framed photos with detailed captions relating to the neighborhood, & the business’ growth. Nice interior, well maintained. I ordered frickles & fries to-go. Unfortunately, probably obviously, it didn’t travel well. Nonetheless, the pickles were not crisp. Oh yeah, if you’re unfamiliar, a frickle is a fried pickle. The batter was flavorful. Ehhhh– I guess I would recommend that appetizer as dine in, but beware of the lackluster pickle!

The portions aren’t consistent and the food has gone down tremendously. I do love those bakery items.

Decided to drop in for brunch with my mom. I’m so happy we did. It’s really hard finding home cooked food in around this area. Our waiter was very nice and on point with service. I will be returning to this establishment in the future.

Had the pleasure of trying out Polly’s apple pie. A whole thing of it! I liked the crust a lot! It was flaky and crisp, not too bready or dry :) I generally don’t eat too much sweets(savory is my go-to) but definitely will not hold back from trying their fresh strawberry pies and more :9

Wow so glad I chose to try this place out today. I’ve lived a block away for like 3 years now and have never tried it. With all the awesome Unilocal reviews, it was a must. I want to start by stating I did an online order/take out so this rating is for that experience. I’ll definitely be back in with friends for the sit down experience and update my review at that time. I first looked through all the amazing pictures on Unilocal and then looked at the menu. Lol I had to be sure on this one haha. Eventually I decided on the taco salad and the veggie avocado sandwich on cracked wheat. Excellent decision I must say. The pictures didn’t do the taste and presentation justice. Well, I knocked off one star because I stood there and had 2 different waitresses stand in front of me at the register I think ringing in their bills for at least a minute each and wouldn’t even acknowledge me or make eye contact with me. A friendly hello and eye contact would have totally made this a 5 star. I thought i was invisible there for a few. I finally asked the guy next to the menus if that was where I picked up online orders and he said just nodded and kept on. So I stood there a bit longer and finally after a few minutes I get eye contact from a guy and yep he’s walking over and he’s the man for the pick up orders. He had been working on putting someone’s else order together and I don’t blame him for the other workers lack of customer service at that moment. Maybe all 3 of those people were having a bad day lol. I sure wasn’t lol. He was very professional and super friendly with great manners. He made sure I had everything I needed and double checked the order. He gave excellent service. I should’ve asked his name to add it in. He ever went to the back to grab me some fresh butter. The food was fabulous and fresh. I had a choice of dinner roll or corn bread and I went with the rolls. Omg they AREMASSIVE and so fluffy and fresh. I don’t think I’ve ever had a roll that good no joke. I can only imagine them with a nice thick soup. Mmmm. ok anyways lol the veggie avocado sandwich was beyond BOMB! The jack cheese with mayo, avocado, sprouts, onions and tomatoes on cracked wheat… so crispy and tasty. I’m not a vegetarian, there’s just something about a veggie sandwich that’s so clean and refreshing. The avocado taco salad is to die for. It usually has tortilla chips but I opted out. The perfect combination of ingredients to create this scrumptious dish. I will definately be having this again. All around great experience. I’ll be back!

I stopped going to the, what appears to be racist, popular restaurant up the street to come to Polly’s. I happy to say I love this place. The servers are friendly and the prices are great. Love the banana nut pancakes. I’m hooked.

I came here with my son and cousins and sad to say that my experience was not good. For this to be a breakfast restaurant I should not have received gooey undercooked pancakes which I did. The service was not good(older lady with dark hair) wasn’t very attentive. I felt as though she didn’t want us in her section. She got the drink wrong for my son, I ordered an apple juice she gave us an orange juice. Get it together. I was a server for 8 years including working at a Polly’s. I look very closely into everything and expect a certain level of customer service in which we did not receive here. Not planning on going back.

I was planning on sitting down and eating here until I walked in and was waiting to be seated. That’s when Nancy, the«Senior Coach» greeted the people in front of me. And when I say greeted, I mean she was screaming at them! Nancy was completely incapable of speaking to customers. She was yelling and screaming at everyone! Way too loud and obnoxious! Upon watching her scream at about 3 different groups of customers, I approached the counter where the pies are located and purchased 3 slices of pie to go. While waiting for my pie slices, I kept watching Nancy. She was still screaming at each new customer that walked into Polly’s. Then she proceeded to SNEEZE into her hand and then used her contaminated SNEEZE hand to pour someone a cup of coffee! OMG!!! Thank goodness I did not eat here. If I had gotten sick, it would have been because of Nancy!

I usually come here for dessert and pie but my first time for breakfast here on a Saturday morning was amazing. The server was extremely kind, attentive, and the tables were clean. My order was just how I wanted it, hot, tasty and I got a lot of food for about 10 $. I tried their cinnamon rolls for the first time and they were so good that they had me coming back. Unfortunately, when I decided to bring a friend throughout the week I had an unhappy visit the second time around. The frosting on my cinnamon roll was real dry(unlike my first time), and on the mug I noticed a thick ring around the top part of my coffee(I think it was dish soap). I didn’t get a new cup of coffee until I was halfway through my meal and I didn’t get creamer(from another server I asked) until I was way done with my meal. These were all small errors with an easy fix that can bypass my complaints but my server didn’t come around enough to fix them and I still had to pay full price for two poor sips of cold coffee that morning. I was sad to have a real frustrating experience my second time around for breakfast and I felt bad for my friend. However, i’m rating overall from all previous visits since i’ve been here many times for burgers and dessert. I hope for the better if I decide to come back.

Polly’s is the perfect place when you’re in the mood for a little comfort food. I’ve only been to this location for dinner, but service had been great every time, whether we’re having the 4pm-senior-dining-hour meal or strolling in after peak dinnertime. We’ve always been seated immediately by pleasant people. They have many hearty meals to choose from, but I usually get the burger combo that comes with a slice of pie. Burgers are juicy, fries perfectly crisp, and if you opt in for cheese on the burger, it’s abundant and melty. While waiting for meals, you get a bread basket to tide you over, and the rolls are amazing! Last time we were here, it was raining, and the soup was very satisfying. Almost every time I get the meal with the slice of pie, I get the dessert to go. The meal portions are big, so I’m always stuffed. I usually try to get the seasonal pies, which change regularly. My favorite might be the strawberry lemonade in the summer. Sometimes the seasonal pies are sold out, but that’s okay because their regular pie selections are delicious. I’ve tried just about all of them I think. My go-to tends to be the apple crisp with the crumb topping, but I’ve also enjoyed lemon meringue, apple, banberry, the cream pies… allll offfff themmm. Seriously, any baked good that comes from Polly’s is great!

we sat down right away but service from there was a little slow. the food was not that good… i know we weren’t in a «white table cloth» restaurant but I believe i had realistic expectations. It was clean, so that was good

Hubby and I were looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast early on Sunday. We took a chance on Polly’s Pies after seeing positive Unilocal reviews. I’m glad we did. I ordered the oatmeal and the one egg combo with bacon. The oatmeal was the perfect consistency, neither too thin nor too watery. It came with a side of milk, brown sugar, raisins, and slivered almonds. Delicious and healthy. The egg was cooked to order; the bacon was thick and flavorful. My husband ordered the spinach omelet. In his words it was, «Delicious. Nice and healthy.» The service was friendly and fast. To sum up, Polly’s Pies serves up quick, healthy, yummy breakfasts with a smile. I highly recommend it.

Came to Polly’s on a Saturday morning at the recommendation of my friend. Although there was a wait for larger parties, my friend and I were seated immediately at a smaller booth. The breakfast items were a bit more expensive than what I’m used to on the east coast, but portions were large and super filling. My friend and I split the spinach scramble which came with a baked good(giant cinnamon bun!). The cinnamon bun came out warm with a little tub of butter that was so light and decadent(yes, put the butter on that cinnamon bun). The scramble was solid with a good amount of spinach, mushrooms, and sausage mixed throughout. Only downside was the hollandaise sauce which was NOT hollandaise. We also picked up an apple pie, which we munched on throughout the week. Delicious! All in all, this is a solid place for breakfast and pies(what more could you want?)

Currently having a Hawaiian theme! They have a Loco moco option that is good. 2 fried eggs on top of a beef patty and rice, with gravy poured all over. Get it with extra gravy! They also have tropical pancakes and longanisa sausages! Yum!

efficient inexpensive friendly great comfort food I never thought a restaurant could possess all those characteristics. But somehow, Polly’s Pies finds a way to compromise excellent service, cheap prices with delicious tasting food. I don’t think you can really go wrong with any of the choices here. Bakery items are baked fresh daily. I love how you can select a giant cinnamon roll to go along with your breakfast entrée for only a little over $ 10. Even when the restaurant is packed with customers and there is a waiting line, the service staff never panics and still takes great care of their customers. I am a fan!

Reminds me of the old days! Total American comfort food! Creamed spinach, green beans, and rotisserie chicken. Creamed spinach and green beans were delicious and hot. Creamed spinach had bacon and cheese on top. Green beans had ham. I got a half chicken and only ate half of that. Definitely, leftovers! They served 2 warm buns with butter. I only had a taste. Honest! Excellent fast and friendly service! Very clean and bright! Loved it!

Overview: Polly’s Pies Restaurant is a simple but well run diner/pie bakery on Atlantic Ave in Long Beach that combines very attentive service, a relaxed but clean atmosphere, and excellent value in one pleasant package. I came here because I received a coupon for a piece of pie with any entrée and ordered the chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs, a giant cinnamon roll(included), and the strawberry rhubarb pie. You can substitute the cinnamon roll for less amazing things like muffins and bread but… don’t. The Food: Everything on the menu are entrees that you could easily make for yourself at home(waffles, french toast, eggs, sausage, etc) except maybe the eggs Benedict but the cooks here do a fast and excellent job and the pricing is very reasonable. See my photo below but I thought everything was perfectly prepared, wonderfully portioned, and well seasoned. The steak had a great crispy exterior, juicy and soft interior. The eggs were wonderfully fluffy. The potatoes were also great but I would have liked it if it was just a tad bit more crisp on the outside. For my latest stay here, I paid only $ 12 including tax and 20% tip. The Service: My waitress, a heavier woman with short blonde hair was exceedingly pleasant, patient, and attentive. I honestly felt that she was more attentive than the waitresses at restaurants that charge more than double the price. If you have her as your server, I guarantee you will be satisfied. The Establishment: Simple booth style tables, casual atmosphere, lots of pies like olallieberry(only on one magical week in June), strawberry rhubarb, etc for about $ 12 – 16. Low-sugar variants are also available but I’ve never tried one unfortunately. You pay up front after the waitress gives you your check and there was basically no line on a weekday at 9AM. Conclusions: I genuinely liked Polly’s Pies far more than I thought I would. While I initially dismissed them as some mediocre diner, I found a great experience with great portions, great service, great food, and no wait. I would have loved them even more if they had more imaginative breakfast choices but I suppose it’s their menu’s simplicity that keeps prices and wait times down.

I am writing this with a tear drop, today my family and I craved our favorite dishes, and like always Polly’s is the place we get satisfied! I have been a customer since 2000, the server«Jay» was mediocre, when our food came to the table my salad looked crisp and scrumptious! I noticed a long hair baked in the oversized croûton, I showed the waitress and she presented another salad. The manager«Shannon», did not touch base at our table, and did not apologize or even ask if anything was okay. Wow, I am in shock, I proceeded to pay in front, when I asked for corporates #,“chuy” did not have any information to give me. I did leave a 15% tip. Update: tonight was super awesome! Just how I remember back in the day:) great Job! Food and service top notch! Norma took care of us with a smile.

I was down in Long Beach on family business and my Dad suggested this institution in superior breakfast fare. The inside is clean and smells like fresh bread, which they bake throughout the day. It just feels really comfortable, like a diner should. I got the chocolate chip pancakes. Divine! Fluffy and filled with gooey, chocolate morsels. I found the servers attentive, but they took a while to get our check, and we ended up walking to the counter to get someone’s attention. I would easily come here again. And could someone please order the famously titled«All the Meats and Eggs» plate. Just because I don’t eat any of the meats doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate a heart attack on a dish.
