Excellent haircuts at an affordable price. The owner is very nice and has been cutting hair at this location for about 30 years.

So I finally decided to find my own personal barber and the Unilocal reviews of Spiro’s is correct. No tough guy attitude here, just a perfect cut at a fair price. Nick is a cool old guy and I felt at home right away. If you’re a regular dude that doesn’t need all the fluff of the other barbershops in the area then Spiro’s is the place for you.

Nick is awesome! Old school barber, he’s been in the same location for 30+ years. Very friendly, respectful, gave me what I wanted in a haircut. Found my new regular barber! Best part, right next to the friendliest mail service, 4th Street Postal !!

Great $ 17 haircuts, good conversation like a barbershop should be, fast friendly service, never really that crowded, nice area and close to home(for me at least). What’s there not to love?! I always have Nick cut my hair and he always does a great job. Just be clear on what you want and you shall receive.

I walked in about a year ago and met Amin who knew how to fix a bad former haircut and shape it into something perfect, age appropriate and effortless to fix! He’s a great conversationalist and the shop has a great vibe. No pretense just quality cuts. I returned recently and thankfully Amin was still there. He gave another perfect cut using both clippers and scissors. I even added on a shave shape up. I felt like a new man afterwards!

Should be no stars at all. Older guy from London cut my hair or more butchered it over. He didn’t even listen to what I asked for which isn’t a difficult cut anyway. Then at the end I pointed out the crappy fade and lack of fade on one side of my head he acts like there nothing wrong with it. I can’t believe he was willing to let me walk outside with such a crappy cut. Also if a place wants to do cash only no problem but put a sign on the window that says so!

My boyfriend goes here for every haircut and as his girlfriend, I love his cuts. The price is very good for the amount of time the barber puts into cutting. The barber is a perfectionist and my boyfriend has never been disappointed. Walk-ins are welcomed and everyone is very friendly compared to other hair salons in the neighborhood we have encountered.

Nick and the new kid get my business for three reasons: 1. Short wait time 2. Good conversation 3. Quality cuts I’ve been to Syndicate and Razorbacks, the customer service was not very impressive and the barbers took forever to do basic work. Spiros is less gimmick and more talent.

Spiro has this new kid, Amin, who cuts hair just great. I have used Thu for years, but — in her absence — I tried Amin and was really satisfied with the«cut».

All the reviews here seem so good and it sucks that I have to dump on the place. Maybe it’s because Nick was at lunch, but this has to be one of the WORST haircuts I have ever received. I didn’t think it was possible to mess up too much with clippers, but the sides of my head look chewed on by a dog! I didn’t dare ask the nice lady who cut it to fix it, because at the rate it was going I feared it would only get worse. Sadly, my never-ending quest for a decent barber in Long Beach continues.

While cruising around Unilocal I discovered Spiros, and after reading all of the extremely positive reviews I decided to give it a shot. Rarely is Unilocal wrong, right? Right! What a positive experience. I walked in, sat down, and was greeted by Nick. All I need to say is that he’s a genuinely nice and easy going person, he knows what he’s doing, and if you need your haricut, you should see him ASAP. He asked me what I wanted, and with little guidance, he gave me an impressively clean haircut. The location is also very nice too, on the less busy part of 4th(bonus points if you stop by Portfolio after). Fast, efficient, friendly, unpretentious. I’ll be back.

Nick asked me if the last person to cut my hair was a woman. He could see what was wrong with the shape, the length– wrong style for my head. He should know, he’s been cutting hair for over 40 years. He’s even taught classes. I couldn’t have been happier with the result, and just $ 16? Keep the change my friend, I’ll be back again. On another note, I unknowingly walked in here 5 minutes before close. He didn’t turn me away, didn’t even make a thing about it. Class act, knows how to take care of his customers.

Quick & Dirty: If there were ever a business in Long Beach that I would be more than happy to give a 5 Star Unilocal to this would be the place. Great haircut and fantastic service. Nick is a very cool guy! Long & Cut: I typically go to the Syndicate but being fed up with the wait time especially on the weekends I thought I would try someplace new, so I went to Spiro’s Barber Shop after reading it’s ONE and only Unilocal since ’06! First off a big thanks to Eric H. who reviewed this place way back. His review was on par and was the review I read which led me here. I walked in and was the only person there. An older guy came out of the back and pleasantly greeted me with a nice big smile and told me to take the chair. He asked me what I wanted and I told him just a clean up and from that point we BS’d for the next 15 minutes. We talked about Long Beach and he told me how he’s owned this shop for years, lived in London, and now lives in Cerritos. I couldn’t have enjoyed his company more. Sure Spiro’s is nothing like the Syndicate and that’s okay! It was nice to get a break from the attitude and crazy artwork and the lines and the feeling of I’m not cool enough to get my haircut there. Nick at Spiro’s actually talked to ME unlike at The Syndicate where they only talk to each other. Nick did too have art on the walls but it’s a little more greek influenced, and you can buy it too! Overall, I am VERY glad I went here and I would ABSOLUTELY go here again. My haircut is clean and neat and he didn’t take nearly as long as the Syndicate either. If you are looking for a good cut then Nick is the guy to see! Do yourself a favor guys and get a haircut from Nick, he deserves the patronage. Note: He’s closed Sunday’s and Monday’s.

I have been going to Nick for about three years now. And I must say he can give a mean haircut. He needs little direction, with all his experience. Recently, he has gotten pricey. At first it was $ 12, then $ 15. When I went to Nick a few weeks ago it was $ 17! I would avoid the other trendy barbers down 4th street because of the pricing. But for a few bucks more I will give them a try. I first went to Nicks for a good haircut at a great price from a great guy. Now Spiros is joining the ranks of the 4th street barbers without all the bells and whistles. That green dollar sign on the review profile should now be a two.
