I’m a fairly new client to Yolanda and after my first appointment I knew that I will definitely be coming back. My hair felt and looked great. I will definitely recommend her to anyone who’s looking for great hair.

Yolanda is a hair guru. She is amazing. She saved my hair. When i originally went to her a couple of months ago i was having a hair crisis. Another salon really messed up my hair n she was able to repair the damage. She is very knowledgeable. Thank u.

LISTEN UP, PEOPLE! The reviews speak for themselves! I didn’t need to come on Unilocal to give praise to Yolanda because everyone already knows she is FANTASTIC at what she does, but I’m going to write one anyway, just in case you’re a newbie and looking for a great stylist.
First off, like many reviews on here, I’ve been going to Yolanda for years off and on (I moved around like a gypsy setting camp on an ant farm so I couldn’t always get to see her). I used to drive to a salon up in Montebello about 17 years ago but it got too far of a drive for me after work (I’m in south OC). Started going to Yolanda and absolutely loved what she did! She told me straight, «You need to lay off the flat iron! It is going to ruin your hair,» and advised me NOT to use my flat iron every day and use a protective serum when I did flat iron my hair so I wouldn’t fry it to the brink. See, my hair has a mind of its own — I can’t just roll out of bed, give it a little shake and be off and running. Nope, not my hair — my hair looks bad even when I put it in a ponytail! I have to flat iron my head like I’m making a grilled panini sandwich, otherwise my hair looks like it’s growing wings and flying away, with my panini sandwich.
A few years after seeing Yolanda, I switched jobs and couldn’t get to see her as often so I started going to a different salon (the other salon wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t Yolanda) and right away, I noticed my hair wasn’t the same — after a few washes, my cut and color both looked dull and dingy. I told myself that whatever it took, I was going back to Yolanda to save my hair. So back to Yolanda I went.
A few years after that, stress and genetics crept up on me like a bat out of hell — I have no idea but it was like I had grey hair sprouting overnight and these bastards grew in fassssst! Not to worry, Yolanda to the rescue. She recommended dyeing my hair a bit lighter to hide the grey, adding soft, Jennifer Aniston-​y-​like highlights, and giving me a real fun and edgy cut (long bob) for summer. I had hair down to the middle of my back so I wasn’t ready for short hair. I held my breath and thought, «If she’s wrong, I am shaving my head and wearing a wig,» but guess what? She wasn’t wrong. You have no idea how many people have told me how great and sexy my hair looks (even shoulder length). Would I have suggested chopping my hair? Never. Would I have thought to go lighter? Not a chance.
Yolanda gets you out of your plain «safe» zone and helps create a newer, sassier, sexier, more adorable new YOU! Hey, by all means, if you like your Dorothy Hamill bowl haircut from the ’70’s and want to keep the same style and color you’ve had since the Nixon era, by all means, that’s perfectly fine and dandy, but if you want to make a change and have people stop you and tell you that you look years younger (because of your new hair style) and how healthy and fantastic your hair looks, go see Yolanda.
Mad love to you, Yolanda! You always make me feel like a beautiful princess every time I leave the salon!

Yolanda is simply the best! She’s been doing my hair for many years and I have never been disappointed. I get so many compliments on my color. Totally worth the drive from Ontario. I will never go anywhere else. I highly recommend her.

This is a response to the owner’s claims:
First and for most, this work was definitely done by the stylist of this salon. These photos were taken two days after my visit to Suite Stylist by a different stylist at another salon where I went to get a hair treatment to prepare my hair to fix this mess with minimal damage. When I asked her how bad it was she explicitly told me that she wasn’t one to throw a fellow stylist under the bus but that this work was beyond amateur.
I do conceded that the stylist said that it would not be a one day process to get the hue of rose gold that I wanted. However, how is this quality of work the first step? I would have loved some blending and natural ombré even if it was not the hue that I wanted. Instead I walked out with these blotchy and streaky blonde and brunette highlights. Had they been more natural and not as horrific, this review would of had a 3 – 4 star rating. Additionally, curls and waves make even the hottest of messes look decent. It’s when you straighten those curls that you see what I saw every time I looked in the mirror.
Olaplex, yes not a magic wand. No one said it was. I’m just glad it was used so that I could rapidly get my hair fixed elsewhere without too much damage.
Again, no one arguing that the customer was kind and such, but just from the fact that when she arrived the hair process was «completed» and THIS is what came out, I say my 1 star is extraordinarily generous.
And lastly, the stylist insists that I did not try to contact her with my dissatisfaction. False. After my visit with the other salon and with my photographic proof in hand I emailed the stylist with my concerns. I asked to get in contact to discuss what went wrong. However, after weeks of cricket noises I decided to post my review. And lo and behold, a defensive reply. I did receive a SMS and 1 unknown call. Not numerous attempts, not a couple, just one.
Fortunately though, while I did my waiting for a reply from my first email I was able to fix my hair and gain my confidence back.
It is not my intention to sound as though I am attacking the stylist, I am just informing the public of my personal experience at this salon.

Yolanda is the best of the best. She knows hair! You’ll know that she’s not after your $. She wants you to be happy with your hair.

Yolanda is amazing… I have been coming to Yolanda for about 4 years now, i have had everything done from highlights to extensions, I LOVE Yolandas work every time I go I leave happy, Yolanda makes sure your hair looks perfect before you leave and will explain every proccess she take you through, I have recommened my family, neighbors and co workers and everyone has been happy with her work.

Yolanda is the BEST hair stylist I have ever had! I have been getting my hair done by Yolanda for years. She uses the best hair products and the results are Amazing. I HIGHLY recommend her!

I’ve been going to Yolanda to get my hair done for almost three years now, and I have to say I have NEVER been disappointed!!! I can’t imagine going to anyone else to get my hair done! I absolutely love her work!!! I can go in, give her an idea of what I want, and she always gives me exactly what I want!!! I recommend everyone go see Yolanda for their hair needs and wants!!!

Brought my very picky 17 year old daughter here for an ombré. She left saying that for the first time ever she’s leaving a salon happy and completely content. Yolanda did an amazing job! Beautiful Salon and great service. Can’t ask for me. We’ll definitely be back.

I’ve been coming to Yolanda for a little over a year now and don’t plan on going to anyone else ever! I came to Yolanda in hopes of finally finding someone who I could trust with my hair, give me what I want, and give my hair the best care possible. She does all of that and more! I have bleached my hair so many times and changed styles and colors many many times and she has done a wonderful job of knowing what my hair can handle and keeping it as healthy as possible. I leave her salon always satisfied and feeling so great about my hair. Yolanda is truly a natural talent and I don’t know what I’d do with out her magic touch!

Every time I go my hair is aways amazing and turns out the way I wanted. Yolanda listens and works with you to get the color or cut you want. I’ve went from red to blonde and blonde back to red. Every time I get compliments on my color. Love Yolanda!

Quite honestly the BEST hairstylist you will ever have and MOST beautiful woman inside & out! I’m looking hot again cuz of this woman!
