Dr. Mohan is one of the most well-​educated, professional, intuitive, kind, compassionate and charming practitioners I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing — and I’ve known many! I’ve worked with her for a number of years and trust her implicitly. She’s been a tremendous and beautiful influence on all areas of my life — body, mind, spirit — and even was an inspiration in my decision to return to school for a graduate degree in Integrative Health.

I can’t begin to express how Ayurveda, and in particular working with Siva, has changed my life.
I first came to Ayurveda because I was not happy with the treatment and answers I was receiving from Western doctors. I knew there had to be something more than just symptom management for my health issues (I am dealing with a couple of auto immune diseases). When I first learned about Ayurveda, I started reading everything related to the topic that I could find. But like most things in life, the more I learned, the more I realized I didn’t know and had trouble figuring it out on my own. It’s easy to take quizzes online to figure out your dosha (s), but then how do you move forward from there?
I found that working with Siva was essential to my healing process. I love how she is well versed in the «science» part of it regarding the energies and herbs and eating and routines and such. But just as important for me is the life counseling/​coaching part she brings to the process. From day one I felt comfortable enough to share everything with her, something I’ve never done with a medical doctor. Not once through the process have I felt judged about any of my present or past behaviors. I’ve just been listened to and presented with ideas of how to understand myself and move forward in my life and in making my life choices.
It’s amazing how far I’ve come in the last three years, and I attribute it primarily to my work with Siva and her support on my Ayurvedic journey. I will admit that it’s been a huge effort on my part as well, but willing to commit and make any needed changes and sacrifices has been well worth it. Not only have I overcome some serious health issues, but at the same time my life is blossoming into everything I’d always hoped it would be.

Dr. Mohan has changed my life! Through simple exercises, breath work, supplements and lifestyle changes she has done wonders in helping me out! Just being in her presence makes me feel wonderful! I recommend her to anyone, whether you are having stress problems, pregnancy or if you just want to supplement your lifestyle for the positive, she is great for the job!

A peaceful retreat around the corner from the house. I’ve gone twice to Svastha yoga studio and both times have taken the Thursday (12:30−2pm)gentle yoga class taught by Joy Rika.
I enjoy her gentle yoga class. With my sciatica and back pains, i’ve been hesitant to do anything too straineous. But her class is so intimate and gentle, that I find myself giving in to the healing powers of yoga. It also helps that she is very understanding and takes her time.
The studio is very clean and serene. and I love that fact that they are donation-​only studio. They are really here for the community and making yoga available to the masses.
Highly recommend it.

Amazing! A little neighborhood gem. Small and clean, the teachers are generally around before class to discuss any issues you might or questions, etc. I joined for the $ 25 unlimited two week special, talked my boyfriend into and I am already planning my week around all the different classes they offer. I will have to say that the best way to end your week is the Friday afternoon, 5:15 all levels class. The energy was amazing and it was a great way to unload the stressors of the week and look at my weekend with new eyes.

Free bellydancing class at 7:30 pm on Tuesdays in the month of April! Whoo Hooo! Lots of fun!
They’ve added Itsy Bitsy yoga for children ages 6 and up.
Free Laughter Yoga in April on Saturdays at 11:45 am.
I got to go to Siva’s yoga class on Tuesday just before bellydancing (BTW, I love her sense of humor!), but I think I might go into withdrawals
because I haven’t been to one of Johnny’s classes in over a week!
The coolest thing about Svastha Health is that even if you can’t afford it or just don’t want to spend money on a membership here, you can always keep checking on the free classes offered on the website
. The teachers and owner are all interested in keeping people healthy in body and mind, so you might as well do your self a favor and try it out.

It’s hard to have an excuse not to work out when a new Yoga studio opens up only a block away. It’s located on Broadway next to The Wine Crush, and the entrance is in the back. I tried out Svastha for the introductory 2 week offer and I liked it quite a bit. By my second visit Siva already remembered me by name. I mostly took the Detox class with Siva and the Build Fire class with Matt, and these were both enjoyable and rewarding. Although initially it may not seem very convenient, I like the way the classes are scheduled according to the appropriate time of day for the particular healing objective — it makes a lot of sense to build fire in the morning and detox & unwind at the end of the day. I also like the way that Svastha has really taken the time to do things right in terms of getting to know the community and the local neighborhood. For the whole first month they were open, all the classes were free. They have continued to offer free yoga classes from time to time that are staffed by volunteers. The regular classes are reasonably priced compared to other yoga studios, and they are the only yoga studio in the area to offer a student membership. The focus at Svastha is really on health and healing. There is a great deal of information about ayurveda on their website, and they offer consultations. There is a small retail section of the studio with yoga and ayurveda related products, and as a green business, you even get 10% off a retail purchase if you walk or ride your bike to the studio. They have been gathering customer feedback about the kind of classes people want and what days and times are best, so I look forward to their new schedule when hopefully they will have more classes on the weekend.
