Sweet Retreat Donuts

I went here with my boyfriend after reading so many great reviews on Unilocal.A really great place for a coffee date They have games like Jenga and Mancala so you can play while you eat and have some conversation. The staff consists of a man and a woman and they are beyond the nicest people I’ve ever met very informative and helpful. We will definitely come back soon.

Really cute on the inside with the mural and board games. Outside is pretty ghetto. They ran out of the Thai Tea mix when I was here but whatever, I was really checkin for the donuts anyway. I grabbed a chocolate sprinkle donut for my son, and I had the strawberry donut. It was so good. Like. Seriously.

I can’t even begin to explain how yummy all the desserts were! I was in total shock when we walked in. The outside is a bit rundown and I thought it’d be one of those regular small donut shop with coffee but inside is a very cute, modern, and hipster shop. The wall art is adorable and definitely made the shop trendy.
I came in wanting only ice cream and came up with a taro glazed ice cream donut sandwich. So delicious and tasty! I also got their almond milk tea and it tasted perfect, didn’t tast artificial (prob was) at all. My brother got a smoothie and it also met expectations.
The shop workers/​owners were so friendly and sociable and were happy to suggest the donut sandwich to us because I was eyeing both the ice cream and donuts. I asked for her name but sadly I forgot it, I will gladly be coming back! :3

This place is so cute! It looks kind of run down on the outside but it’s nice on the inside. They don’t have a huge selection, but it is a nice variety. I was able to get their strawberry filled donut sandwhich. It’s REALLY tasty but super sweet and might be too much to handle if you have sensitive teeth. I also bought the bacon maple bar, which I haven’t eaten yet. It kinda sucks that they only have one size for their milk teas, as I was hoping for something bigger. I got a coconut milk tea with boba. Pretty good.
Parking wasn’t an issue for me. The donut shop is in a small shopping like center so there’s parking for the ¾ other places around it. I also went at 9 in the morning on a Friday and it wasn’t busy.
Overall nice place, definitely going back.

I wasn’t a big fan of their boba, it actually tasted kinda weird. But the drink itself wasn’t bad. I had a kona mocha. I think next time I’ll just order the drink without the Boba and try out some of donuts that look amazing.
The staff was very friendly and nice.

If I was a monster id probably be the donut monster. I’m always on the hunt for a great donut. I love them. They’re such a well rounded meal! Lol get it. Nerd jokes aside. I found this little gem on Unilocal and was smitten by the pretty and super yummy pictures. So me and bae made it our mission to try this place out. And I must say I’m in love! The glazed donut with strawberries was so delicious. It’s made fresh to order. The donut was soft and the strawberries were sweet and fresh. For ours drinks we ordered the green matcha and a taro tea. Both were great. The owner was beyond sweet! TRY THE DONUTS!!!

The donuts here are good but nothing amazing. Stopped by Monday afternoon to get a box which was $ 6.99 for a dozen. Not a bad deal at all. Didn’t see any of the crazy ones I saw posted on here, so don’t stop by in expecting those.
I personally tried the chocolate glaze with peanuts and the cake donut with chocolate frosting and sprinkles. They were all good and I enjoyed them. Not dying to comeback here to get more, but happy to see another solid donut shop in Long Beach.

Great vibe. Good creativity on the donuts. I like that they offer smoothies and milk teas. Another plus is that they offer games to play while dinning. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. Fair donut shop prices and very sweet attentive personal service. I will be back, especially for the strawberry donut filled sandwich.

My bf & I stopped by here to try out their strawberry filled donut and lemme tell ya something… BOMB!!! It was excellent. We thoroughly enjoy ice cream stuffed donuts BUT these bad boys were refreshing and delicious. We also tried their cinnamon roll donut which went on our top favorites treat list for sure.
The shop is very simple, chic & clean. I love the art wall and artsy chalkboard menus. We also met the owner herself and she is extremely sweet & willing to help her guests
We will for sure be visiting here more often. Top notch donuts for the perfect cardio days. Haha

When i stopped by and had a difficult time parking. When I went inside I didn’t see any of the pretty donuts that are posted in Unilocal pictures. I did see a s’ mores and a taro donut.
S’ mores and Taro were pretty much regular donuts with frosting. The S’mores was chocolate with little mushrooms. They were fresh and reasonably priced. The shop itself is small but comfortable and they do have board games but no wifi.
The four donuts I purchased were shoved in a small bag. The taro flavored were squished and became more like a donut sandwich or donut ball in that small bag.
Overall, AOK donuts at a reasonable price. The lady working was super nice.
Parking.Ihad to park around back. There is a private lot but it can get busy.

Discovered Sweet Retreat on Unilocal and saw the delicious donut sandwiches and really wanted to try it. Unfortunately they just didn’t live up to the hype. Everything just ended up tasting too sweet, from the donut, to the whip cream. The only things I did enjoy probably were the strawberries because it was fresh.
Green Tea Donut Sandwich — I was hoping for the green tea flavor to really pop out because I LOVE GREEN TEA. However, this tasted like just a green colored glazed donut.
Taro Donut Sandwich — Again, I LOVE TARO, but this was just a purple colored glazed donut.
Service — The owners are SUPER NICE. I will definitely say service was amazing, attentive, and friendly.

From the outside, this looks like your typical donut place, but it is so much more than that! I’m excited for this addition to the neighborhood.
In addition to typical donut flavors, Sweet Retreat has some unique flavors that you don’t see very often, like taro and green tea. They also have coffee drinks, ice cream, boba, and specialty donuts (filled with cream and berries). You are bound to find something you like here. I went for a croissant and a caffe latte, both pretty good. With so many options available, I know I’ll be back soon to try more.
The décor here is adorable. The walls have frames painted on them, and are filled with donut jokes and other random things. They have big wooden tables and a few games to play if you come with a big group. Although this isn’t in the nicest part of town, you can’t even tell when you are inside because it’s so cute and fun. Definitely give this place a try!

Hidden treasure in the heart of long beach. Excellent customer service from the sweetest couple (owners of the business).
My dad moved our family out to Texas when I was a kid to start up a donut shop. I remember how early and hard my family had to work in order to put out the doughy goodness. I commend any business owner pursuing their dream of running a business. Clearly evident is the passion the owners possess for what they are doing.
Drinks were fantastic and the donuts were even better. If you’re in the area definitely stop by to grab a tasty treat.

Availability of supplies: three items they were out – no decaf coffee at all, no black tea at all, no americano.
Drinks: Ordered a strawberry banana smoothie. Asked about boba before hand… So dry and lacked flavor. The smoothie is made from artificial flavors and is so sweet tastes like candy. Not fresh as promised. Couldn’t finish it.
Bathroom: nope.
Location: sketchy. Wouldn’t come alone or at night.

Only came here twice and I’m highly Satisfied withthe donuts! First of all, their green tea and taro donuts are delicious and so are their other donuts. My fave is the ham and cheese croissant and the jelly filled donuts!!! :D
I highly recommend this donut place to anyone who likes a good donut and it’s located right on pch so close to my home; which makes it even better! But overall, i love the donut place is amazing and the customer service is excellent there.

First of all, the customer service was great. The guy who took our order told us that the donuts came out small so he charged two ice cream sandwiches for the price of one. Their donuts look freshly made. There’s not that many donut choices but they are barely starting out. They have green tea and taro donuts which is unique to me, since I haven’t seen those flavors at donut shops I have gone too.
I had an ice cream sandwich with mint ‘n’ chip ice cream and it was delicious. The other ice cream sandwich was green tea (delicious as well). The ice cream is Thrifty ice cream!!!
Also, got a Thai Tea and I have to say it was not overwhelming. The sweet and bitter balanced out in the Thai Tea.

Really like this place! this place can be tricky to find since they don’t have a huge sign that looks like a donut shop.
Their donuts are so fluffy and not too sweet. The lady who helped me was so helpful and kind and patient (I asked so many questions and didn’t know which donut I wanted).
The glaze on the donuts are a perfect amount of sweetness. I usually can only eat 1 donut at a time since they’re so sweet but sweet retreats donuts aren’t too sweet. just wished the taro and green tea had a bit more flavoring to it.
The dirty old bastard was so good… especially since I took the last one. that was just out of the oven and still warm!
They also have coffee and ice cream. Def want to come back to try more donuts!

The donuts I chose (red velvet, green tea, and taro) were so good and they people behind the counter were extremely nice! When I come back to Long Beach, I’m definitely going back!

This is one of those food joints that need to be popular, no doubt about it! My girlfriend and I checked out this place out of curiosity because it’s new and we’re craving for something sweet. I just want to be blunt; their donuts are outstanding! You can feel the love and effort of how they make their donuts. It really makes a difference, that’s for sure. Anyway, the ambiance is cool cause of their mural in their wall and you can play board games as well while dinning in. Seems so fun to chill here with friends!
They have special request menus like the bacon maple bar donut, fresh strawberry cream donut sandwiches, and ice cream donut sandwiches. We initially wanted to try their strawberry sandwich, but they ran out cause of high demands. We instead tried their ice cream donut sandwich for $ 3 and I gotta give them props; it’s way better than Afters Ice Cream sweet buns. Why?! Cause you customize your ice cream sandwich, depends on what donut and ice cream flavors you want. By the way, their toppings are already included, too and you don’t need to pay extra for toppings, which makes it an affordable price.
They serve smoothies and milk teas, too. You can add boba or jellies if you prefer. I ordered the Japanese macha milk tea with boba and it was good; quite refreshing! Overall, outstanding place and I will recommend/​be back here again :)
PS: I still gotta try their fresh strawberry cream donut sandwiches to give this place a 5 star. Soon I will :)
