Carne asada fries are the best here! However they keep changing the days they are open and the time! They used to be open everyday. Now they are closed weekends. And they literally come in and open whenever they want to… We came around noon and the lady said she’ll open around 1:45pm… What the? Ridiculous. Be more professional please!

I used to come here back in my high school days and order Asada fries for $ 4.25. It’s sad to say that there service and prices have gotten worse. Asada fries are now $ 6 and the cashier woman has an attitude. Last time I ordered two plain tacos. I requested to have the onions, cilantro and chili on the side and they told me sorry we already made the tacos and it was too late. It makes no sense. Rather cook at home now rather than come here

I am a sucker for dollar tacos. That means that for me there is a lot to like about the Southland. I feel the same way about California’s Dollar Tacos as I do about NJ and NY’s pizza scene. It’s all gravy. This place is adorned with simple«No credit» and«Cash Only» signs, and a few admonishments warning students that its not a hang out and establishing a time limit. Understandable. The tacos are really authentic and tasty. The best item on the menu also happens to be the best value: THEASADAFRIES. I love Carne Asada Fries or as some places deem them«Super Fries» but I certainly don’t enjoy paying $ 7 — $ 8.(Also some places that charge you an arm and a leg for asada fries will also serve the fries under cooked or soggy. This place does them as they should be and ONLYCHARGES $ 5.00! That’s an amazing value for some of the best Asada Fries I’ve ever had in my life. I almost feel bad paying that much.

writing this review is taking me back to my high school days! Cabrillo Class of 2008 :) Anyway I’m pretty sure this place has goood business especially since its posted right smack infront of Cabrillo High School. So of course a lot of people meet up here afterschool or just simply post it outside. For a realllly small place this place really gets crowded at times. To tell the truth, in all my 4 years of high school. I seriously have NOT ordered food at this place. I only go here to kick it with the homies afterschool or after practice & just watch everyone else eat. Only cause I live around the Cabrillo neighborhood soo no need to waste money when I could just walk home & get some free food. & plus I like my money worth it & if i was to go eat somewhere afterschool I wouldnt mind walking a couple of blocks to go eat some Hong Kong Express or popeyes. Pretty much high school kids will infect this area afterschool cause its the closest & the quickest place to get foood, especially if people have practice or whatever. all you do is order your food & take it back to school & eat it there. Everyone pretty much shifted to this place as a kick it spot afterschool ever since NAGAHAMA’s closed down. ONLY the really old Cabrillo alumni’s know wassup with NAGAHAMAS. It use it be this food place in those buildings by the school but they all tore that down & now its just an empty lot with weird ass dragon lookin statue’s surrounding it ;(
