Irlen Institute is amazing. I thought I was helpless with the problems this caused me. Olive Meare, and Helen Irlen, are incredible. It’s such a tricky condition to live with, but they found a solution, with instant, relief and, improvement. I never knew why some things were such a challenge. I had so much trouble decoding words, and they thought I may be dyslexic, when I was learning to read. I didn’t fit though, so no one knew why it was hard. I wish I found out sooner. I think they should test Irlen Syndrome before anything else. I’m officially, diagnosed with visual spacial deficit, which doesn’t seem to have much of a solution. I haven’t been tested for it since, but I’m doing much better with my filters. This can either, add to LD, or look like it. Either way it’s so worth getting tested, or at least the self test. Another thing is, it affects different people differently. Some will be very bright, even above average intelligence„ and can look like they’re not trying, or lazy. It’s worth a try. It often time a solution, or even part of it. It can mirror, or add to dyslexia, and AD/HD. It’s also very common in ASDs. That’s it. Can’t say enough positive stuff about this. Hope it helps.
