Been coming here for almost a year now and I love the place. I don’t like eggplant and yet I find the baba ganouj delicious! That’s how good it is! My sister and I even bring our guests here for lunch and dinner because we know the food will not disappoint. Owners are such kind and humble people and you can tell that they want to make it a good experience for you. Definitely made me into a lifelong customer.

This might’ve been the most bland and uninspired Mediterranean meal I’ve ever had. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate, beef shawarma plate and shrimp kabobs. The chicken/beef shawarma had no flavor and just a teeny bit of meat and a lot rice which was weird since the pictures showed more. No garlic sauce for any of us and when we all asked she brought a teeny paper cup filled with about a teaspoonful of it and only 1. The server seemed like she’d rather not have us be there. The humus was good so there was that. A bummer of $ 56.

First time here since I’ve been craving good Mediterranean food. I had the vegetarian combo plate since I wanted to taste their hummus, baba ghanouj and tabbouleh all made fresh. Their falafel was so crispy and spiced perfectly. They weren’t even stingy on the warm pita bread. Remember to ask for this yummy desert called«eshta», it’s a ball of thick aromatic cream with pistachios and honey. Love the taste of this delicious desert! They’re the only ones that make it. Next time I’m getting their lamb and shawarma. I’m sure if their vegetarian food tastes that good, their meats would be outstanding! Every first Saturday night of every month is comedy night at the adjacent room. Will definitely recommend this place to my friends!

Excellent service! My first time here, the lady at the register gave detailed descriptions of everything they had so I could best decide what to get! Grape leaves are excellent, she gave me a free sample since I had never tried them before. Would definitely come here again.

I’ve been to Mirage Mediterranean Grill for lunch three times in the last couple of months. Because it is close to my work, I’m able to get in and out and back to work on time. I’m definitely a fan, and will go again. Their food is fresh and tasty. I especially appreciate that their salads are crisp and clean with a nice dressing.

Great Service, Reasonable prices, Great and Healthy food. We went for a big birthday party and the attentive service made a huge difference in our experience. I don’t remember the waitress’s name, but she was friendly and funny-Thank you! My sister was bummed that they didn’t serve wine, and wouldn’t let us bring in a bottle, but I don’t crave alcohol so I didn’t notice. Fun time was had by all!

Food was on point but the service is terrible. The lady who took my order was rude and spent my entire visit on the phone, no doubt on a personal call. I would go back but only for take out.

We came here for the first time on a whim, needing something fast. We called in and ordered and the food was ready shortly after we arrived. We’ve been to at least 5 other Mediterranean Restaurants around LB and this one is AMAZING! Fresh, delicious AND they accommodated for some pretty significant food allergies I have. We are SO happy! We LOVE this place!!! We ordered the chicken tawook, beef kabobs(filet mignon), and spicy hummus instead of regular. Sooo much flavor!

Excellent food. This time I got chicken tawook, which comes with salad, hummus, and rice. I plan on working my way down the menu because we eat here after a guitar workshop. Lots of variety, well presented, delicious!

Excellent restaurant, one of the best Middle Eastern places I’ve dined at in the past few years. The food is great, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere relaxed. You can’t do better than this in the Long Beach area.

5 stars all around ! Especially for Courtney I think that’s her name lol I hope so, the waitress. Went in wth my coworker last week after work for the first time. There was some type of event going on which made us had to sit outside which I didn’t mind it was a nice rainy night. To start the waitress recommended to try to banana chai and boy was she right. It was a but sweet but still good. I ordered the fried cauliflower and a small salad and both are great! For my meal I had the chicken Tawook I believe from what I remember. Which was served with hummus, pita, rice and the MOSTAMAZINGGARLICSAUCEEVER ! Literally had like 6 extra sides of garlic sauce. It was that good !!! Chicken was super flavorful and tender, the rice is just rice but when you put the garlic sauce on it. Oh my goodness thank me later. The hummus and pita was my weakness and I could have eaten more! Overall great food. Staff and environment. Would recommend to anyone to come here and enjoy a perfect meal! Will be back soon!

The food was pretty good. The Hummus and fried cauliflower were delicious. The potatoes were just ok. I had the Sultan’s Feast. Lots of food and the meat was tender, but not under cooked. The wife had the chicken Tawook. The only problem was the hot apple cider. Not good at all. Other than that, we will be back again.

The building and the décor are funky and cozy. The food is especially good creamy hummus, really piquant tabouli that was fantastic probably the best I’ve ever had. We ate the Kefta, a delicious blend of meat with rice… Got a little tahini sauce on the side and subsequently cleaned our plates. Follow that with two baklava which were delicious but just a tad dry needing a little more honey. The service is Pleasant but sometimes a little slow if there are few customers there. But I am NOT complaining it was nice and Mellow and we practically had the place to ourselves. Definitely will return. Yes also a really cool back room available with a stage that I could imagine organizing shows for or having events at.

We FINALLY stopped, and we enjoyed it very much, we shared a appetizer and a sultan combo plate it was quite yummy and we will be back. The lovely woman gave us dessert on the house, I don’t know what it is, but it was covered in honey and pistachios. So happy we stopped, so much better then Outback

Very good service and great fresh well prepared meal. Some of the best hummus I’ve had. Super friendly courteous service. Pleasantly surprised. Quite authentic in every way. Had the grilled shrimp dish. Nice garlic and lemon undertones with basmati rice… Perfect serving size. Will be a new regular spot as its in my hood

A co-worker and I stumbled upon this place after we unceremoniously left the first lunch spot we tried and found too crowded. Best.Decision.Ever. This is a really great spot! We each had an entrée, which comes with salad and hummus + bread #winning I had the Mirage Special and loved it. It mixes chicken and ground beef kabobs + you get rice and a roasted tomato. My meal didn’t stand a chance … and yet I didn’t feel too full — best of both worlds. I’ll definitely be trying this place again! Stay Cheerful ;)

I went into the Mirage Café for takeout for a small dinner get together at my place. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t a menu available online, but I made do and just went in and ordered that way. I was greeted by the friendly owner. I’ll say this is actually a 3.5 star meal — but I’m rounding up because I like to support local business and the hummus is delicious. Could use salmon on their menu(and the Unilocal check in special is still from January — a salmon kabob for a check in). But I did with the Mahi Mahi instead. Definitely a fan. I put a little of my favorite of my hot sauce on it and was pleased. Ordered the falafel plate, another mahi, and a chicken tawook for my guests. The mahi and chicken came on enormous beds of basmati rice. The falafel came on a bed of lettuce and was unfortunately slightly overcooked. All came with salad with a tasty dressing and hummus and pita. The hummus was AWESOME. SOGOOD. Could eat it all day long. The pita — meh, a little too dry for my taste! Love the décor and ambience! I’ll go back — would like to try the potatoes and would love the hummus as well!

I’m picky about my Persian or Mediterranean food. If it ain’t tender– it ain’t good. :) We ordered fried cauliflower, stuffed grape leaves, ground Kefta Kebab combo, tender Chcken Tawook salad, and Falafel combo. Combos came w/hummus, jasmine rice, salad w/garlic butter and Tahini. We got a complimentary dessert which was like a scoop of cheesecake w/rosewater w/pistachio sprinkles. YUM!!!

Humus tasted more oily and lackluster in flavor. The Beef Shawarma was tasteless and dry. Pricey dinner and it was not enjoyable. However, the free improvisation performance was original and humorous. I will revisit this establishment for future performances and try hot beverage and baklava.

Definitely feeling Mediterranean food these days. Found this little gem in Bixby Knolls by Unilocal’ing folks. Read a few reviews and passed along the info to the co-workers. Easy to find. Street parking. Arrived at noon and there was no crowd. At first sight, the restaurant looked a bit weathered, especially with the sponge painted walls, more darker colors than bright, loud music playing in the background, and the smell of some kind of incense. Seated immediately. Fresh pita bread came out with water service. Menus distributed by the owner. Out came the hummus, which was very good. I ordered the Chicken Tawook, while the others ordered the Chicken Schwarma, and Lamb Kabobs. Long story short, the food was excellent. Chicken Tawook uses breast meat, as opposed to thigh meat in Schwarma, was tender and flavorful. It was accompanied by rice, salad, and the pita bread. The garlic spread that accompanied the dish was fantastic. Not too overpowering, but enough to search for some Altoids :) Looking across the table, coworkers were devouring their lamb kabobs and made gestures of approval as they continued to carry on eating and conversing. Definitely recommend this place. This place also doubles as a hookah lounge. Unfortunately, we had a limited amount of time. Owner mentioned belly dancers come out on weekends. Enjoy!

The restaurant is smaller than it appears from the outside. There were a few parties already seated towards the back, so my mom and I grabbed a table in the front section. The table and chairs reminded me of something you would find outside in a patio set, so they weren’t very nice or even comfortable. It was a chilly evening, and the door was open. Since we were seated at the front of the restaurant, a great deal of cold air was coming in. Even with our jackets on, it was pretty cold. We tried to stick it out for awhile, but I finally asked someone if we could close the door. He said that was fine and promptly did so. The other issue is that there were people outside smoking hookah, and that was bothering my mom with the open door. It took over half an hour to get our food. That seemed like a long time, and the wait was even more pronounced, because we weren’t given anything to snack on. Bread came with the meal, when it finally arrived, but it would have been nice to have had something on which we could munch while waiting. Both of us were pretty hungry, and we didn’t expect such a long wait. The portions were decent, but there was no choice on the salad or hummus. I guess at other restaurants I’m used to being able to get a spicy hummus and a variety of salads. I really like tabbouleh, so I was sad to only get a side salad. It was still good, but I missed my favorite. The chicken tawook was tender and flavorful, but the steak kabobs were tough. I had trouble cutting it and chewing it. I almost choked once while trying to swallow it. For the price, the meat should have been better. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium well. Overall, the steak kabob was highly disappointing, like one star or less, and we should have just gotten two chicken plates. This restaurant is down the street from my house, and I was looking forward to trying it. However, after this meal, even despite its proximity, I doubt I’ll be coming back.
