I went there for a friend’s birthday brunch. When it comes to the quality of the food, I’m not sure if theirs is better, or a fast food chain restaurant’s is better, which is why when I saw the amount on my bill I was very surprised. I guess being on Queen Mary is its selling point. And I’m never really a fan of buffets. By the way, pay attention when you park. I parked in the cruise’s parking structure, which is a separate entity than the Queen Mary. They don’t take validation(brunch receipt), and it cost me $ 19. It is kind of confusing as Queen Mary is a cruise ship, just not in use. Anyway, I spent a fortune on this brunch, and the experience was so not worth it.

Holy cow! This is what all brunches should aspire to be. Besides the opulent spread, fresh pastries, omelettes and never-ending champagne, the service is first class! We went for a last minute, Christmas Day brunch and were impressed from the minute we walked up to the hostess stand. Everyone was especially hospitable and friendly. Because of this experience, we are making the Queen Mary our location for Christmas Brunch moving forward. Absolutely come through whenever you can, but make sure to make reservations!

Booked a reservation at Valentine’s Day. Yeah parking was challenging because of the Scottsfest going on, but we found our way with time to spare to our reservation. I’ve sampled many things there: Dessert Bar, Mexican, Asian, Breakfast Bar, Pizza, Chicken Tenders and the Seafood. Dessert Bar — Everything tasted bland. Worse than store bought food from your local grocery bakery(Which indeed can be VERY good) Cookies tasted like bottom shelf dessert. The only thing that was decent was the chocolate dipped strawberries. Everything else was sub-par… compared to a recent buffet I went to – Golden Corral — The dessert is about the quality of Golden Corral… Maybe a point less than GC. Crêpe Bar was average. Tasted like any normal Buffet Crêpe bar. Didn’t use anything special to make it «better» than the rest. Mexican Rice — tasted bland and old/cold. I understand maybe the heat lamps didn’t do a good job at keeping the rice warm, and the recipe is probably just some uncle ben’s boxed mexican rice, but why serve something that is mediocre at a place that’s $ 70/plate? Fajitas — Chicken was tough and dry. Had to spit it back out as it was inedible to me. So was the beef. Sushi — Tasted a bit stale. The«salmon sushi» was way too salty — like they made a bunch of «Lox» and realized it was suppose to be a sushi dish. They just transported the salmon from the lox to a bed of rice calling it «Salmon Sushi» The rice on the rolls tasted a bit stale. Must avoid!!! The Chinese food was a joke. Panda Express made it better of course. And panda express has their food sitting out under heat lamps also! Orange chicken was way too soggy and gross. Fried Rice and Chow Mein was inedible again. Golden Corral at least stuck in there and fought for the chinese dishes. Queen Mary didn’t even try. They just threw it out there to have«variety». Avoid. Pizza — Pizza in a buffet usually is bad. This doesn’t change here. The only«good» pizza I’ve had in a buffet is at Round Table, Shakey’s Bunch a Lunch, and Once Upon a Time Pizzahut Restaurants. Breakfast — The sausages were pretty good here. The flavors of the andouille sausage was captured really well here. The scrambled Eggs — B– at best. They were luke warm, and they tasted old. Do yourself a favor — go to the omelet bar and have him make you some fresh eggs. Hash brown were barely crispy to soggy… mostly soggy than crispy. That’s probably because they made a bunch at a time rather than smaller portions to get a better even cook of the potatoes. Meat Section — Prime Rib — Overcooked and tough(At least the slice I had). The turkey was surprisingly decent considering how dry the prime rib was. I had to drown out the rib in Ketchup in order to have it taste like something. Seafood Section: This is where the star is at. The crab legs, shrimp, all tasted fresh. Like it was freshly prepared so much that it actually reminds you of eating the ocean a bit. This was where the brunch banked it’s quality and«reputation» on. If there’s one thing you had to eat there, it’s the seafood. It’s quite good! I personally don’t drink mimosa’s or like any alcoholic beverages so I had the orange juice instead… The orange juice tasted somewhat fresh, or at least a good quality concentrate formula. To summarize everything, this Sunday Brunch(Valentine’s Brunch) is not worth the $ 70/plate. Hell it’s not even worth $ 50/plate. If I had to put a number on it, I’d say $ 25/plate would be fair for the seafood. Everything else is almost inedible to disgusting. I’ve actually been to the Las Vegas’ Caesar’s Palace Bachannal Buffet in January and the reason why I didn’t compare this to the Caesar’s buffet is because it doesn’t even come close. I chose Golden Corral because it feels a closer to that in terms of food quality. I cannot believe that the Queen Mary doesn’t know how bad their food is. In fact, I’m sure it’s 100% known and they are solely booking seats because of the«Queen Mary» reputation itself. Because it was Valentine’s Day, they figure they can jack the price up even higher, and still serve the $#@! quality food(except the seafood). If I were to run things, I would get rid of everything else, and just advertise this place as a seafood buffet, where they only serve the seafood… Now I just hope they won’t $#@% that up in the future… Avoid unless you want to pay lots of money for cheap food.

If you are a brunch fan(I am), then the Queen Mary brinch is a must do. The food is excellent, the layout is great. The service is so-so. Brunch has the usual carving station with ham, pork and prime rib. Separate from that is a plethora of stations consisting of Asian, Italian and Mexican. There is the usual omellete and breakfast bar as well. Seafood abounds and my wife savored the shrimp(not soggy) anf the crab legs(not too soggy). I tasted the breakfast bar and the Asian bar. All excellent. Julie stuck mostly with seafood and enjoyed every crab leg. The dessert bar was great because they had small bites of everything so you could try a variety of things. Sorry, no ice cream(but that’s probably a good thing. The layout makes it easy to navigate without running into other guests. Service was mediocre at Best. Julie never got the water she asked for. Once the first serve of champagne came, subsequent pours were few and far between. Rather than have the plates picked up while we were off perusing the various food bars, they had to be set aside to be picked up later. Julie never got the water cshe continually asked for. I would blame management for not having enough staff but the truth is the staff just didn’t manage their time well, much of it running around doing nothing. Overall, a good experience and great food for a SPECIALOCCASION. I emphasize that because the cost is ridiculous, regardless of the quality of food. But, they are living off the legacy of the QM. What can ya do? One last word, I wouldn’t bother with the old Observation Bar. They have cheapened the whole thing using plastic cups for every drink, even my martini. So sad that a great legacy has gone downhill so far.

My dad and I really had a great Sunday Brunch on The Queen Mary. The servers were very attentive and they kept the champagne flowing throughout our brunch. Reservations, I think, are strongly recommended as it is very busy on Sundays! The brunch buffet was extensive and better than most that I’ve seen, and I do even mean those n Vegas too. You have your seafood station, carving station, Asian selection, desserts, Italian, breads, and let’s not forget dessert! I gotta say, my best waffles I have ever had was here. Light, fluffy, crispy, and a simply delicious! The waffles are made-to-order and a wide assortment of to accompany it. The ambiance is really fitting as you are thrown back to The early 1900s. Definately ask the Maitre d’Hôtel to enlighten you on the history of the grand ballroom and the original artwork that is displayed. There’s alot of history in this place and it really adds to the dining experience. Next time your in Long Beach, CA, stop on by and take time to do the tours offered by the Queen Mary. Great experience for the whole family!

A great brunch. The mimosas were unending. Great carving station with veggies. A mexican, Chinese, and Italian table. A large table in the middle with a harpist and shrimp, crab, salad, sushi, fruit, cheese, delicious caprese salad. A breakfast area with MTO omelets and the best was a dessert station. So good. You’ll leave uncomfortably full. The servers were attentive and the ambiance. .you’re on the Queen Mary!

This is a very nice place to take your family to brunch, especially if they like to eat. Bottomless champagne is served on white tablecloths to harp music. There is an endless supply of food from king crab legs, poached salmon, prime rib, omelettes, crepes, chilaquilas and more. Everything tastes great and is very enjoyable. It got a little crowded toward late afternoon but all in all it was a nice afternoon with my family.

After tax and tip your breakfast comes out to about $ 72…this breakfast was about $ 60 over priced… food was honestly crappy… the best thing I ate was the chicken fingers from the kids section… that’s pretty sad if u ask me… way way way overpriced… they do have bottomless mimosas but I don’t even really drink…$ 8 to park with validation as well… I honestly felt ripped off for what we got… we went with a group of 20 for our friends Christmas get together and almost everyone in our group was disappointed with the food and the price… I will never come back again

We were staying next door at the Maya Hotel on the last day of our vacation, and thought it might be nice to have Sunday Brunch somewhere as our final hurrah. Sitting on our balcony looking at the Queen Mary, it dawned on us! Absolutely delightful, elegant, lovely food, the variety is endless, and extremely well done all around. The harpist just adds to the period atmosphere and elegance. Highly recommend – very special! Living in San Diego, any time we head north we try to make it a Sunday to have brunch with the Queen!

Delish! Come hungry and make an event of it. For a $ 75 brunch… it’s a sport. Great selection of mexican, salads, sushi, seafood, desserts, and carved meats. You can hit the buffet, wander around the ship and hit the buffet again. Historical and fun!

Always a pleasant experience. Food was great from the pastas to the fresh crab legs. Wish parking was comped. Great service for real professionals like Domitilo. My glass was always full. Thank you for always exceeding my expectations.

I’ve come with my family twice to Sunday brunch and they enjoyed themselves very much. Price is decent and the venue is better than a regular restaurant. The quality of food is OK. You’re paying for the view and ambiance but the food was still decent. Large spread: Mexican, Italian, american, breakfast, seafood and more. I enjoyed the waffles the most. Bottomless champagne and orange juice. The seating capacity is pretty large. Servers and staff are really nice. Lots of parking. On busy days like mother’s day the earlier you make a reservation, the better. It gets real busy and the wait will be long. We went and walked all over the ship after brunch and it was really neat. Great experience.

This brunch buffet is pretty phenomenal. It is pretty on par with that of the ones in Las Vegas. It was a little pricey for what you get, but with the price of brunch you get access to roam the Queen Mary. They have sushi, a carvery table, breakfast items, pasta, fruit, a salad bar, many many desserts, and a kids table.

I was dying to come here. So, when my sister invited me to eat for Easter Sunday. I could not let it pass. This place is great atmospher. There is a lady playing a harp. Very nice and soothing. The ambiance of this place us great. The queen mary is a great venue. Timeless. The staff are very hospitable and friendly. I love the ice sculptures. What is a miss: the asian food station– is passable. Pass. The rice is dry and the noodles are too sweet. The«crêpe» station. Over $ 50 per person and the crepes are not fresh! THEYAREPREMADE& no nutella. The coffee is bitter. It tastes burned. Overall, it’s good.

We had such an awesome time at brunch, today, celebrating my friend’s birthday! Martin was our server, and he rocked! We didn’t have any empty glasses. The food and atmosphere are awesome, with the lovely harpist’s music in the background. It’s pricey, but well worth it! You feel like you’re on vacation!

Full of elegance and spirit, you can close your eyes and imagine guests of yester year wearing their most formal attire, wine glasses clinking, and amazingly elegant dishes they might have served. As you open your eyes, the voices of other brunchers bounce off the walls of the Grand Salon and the aroma of food begins to tantalize your senses. The presentation of the food is immaculate and reminiscent of what you would see on a cruise ship. Ice carving tower displays cold seafood. Smoked salmon is perfectly sliced and arranged on a glass serving platter like artwork. Salmon Serpentine is poached whole and presented with head on as if at a royal feast. Tiered platters displaying perfect seared ahi tuna crusted in black sesame seeds along with Asian infused dishes. We always come here for my hubby’s birthday. The food is so wonderful here and just reminds us of cruise ship dining. My favorite is the bangers and apples. Seafood selection is really good too.

3 and a half stars(there isn’t an option for half stars on Unilocal… Yet). We had our holiday brunch at the Queen Mary this past Sunday. The atmosphere is great for the most part — it’s the grand ballroom of the majestic Queen Mary — which is a ship rich in history(if you’re a naval buff, take the self-guided tour and read all about the QM’s service in WW2 — definitely worth it). One of the first things you notice upon stepping into the ballroom is how big the place is. With it — the number of tables — there must have been close to 80 tables and 6 to 8 chairs per table. That’s a lot of people and the place was packed. The setups were great and the different types of food varied from seafood(baby shrimp cocktail, half oysters, baked salmon) to traditional American/English type breakfast fare(eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, hash browns, waffles) to a Taco Bar and even Asian fare. There was also a dessert bar with a live crêpe attendant. The food, while visually appealing, wasn’t as great taste wise. the roast beef was dry — not moist and tough to chew. The taco bar seemed a bit out of place, considering that the brunch fetched $ 50 per head. The seafood table — by far the most popular table based on the line — kept running out of food and it seemed the attendants were slow to replace the empty/near-empty trays of food, thus seemingly implying some sort of «limit» on the more«pricier» entrees. As simple as it appears, I actually liked the Eggs Benedict — it was well-crafted and the yolk center was a nice surprise. At the dessert bar, I had a strawberry filled crêpe topped with ice cream as well as a flute of flan. Neither item was out-of-this-world amazing. I do have to mention, considering the amount of diners, drinks were refilled fairly quickly. We had a glass of orange juice and a glass of champagne(where you could mix to make a Mimosa) — and those were«bottomless». One major turnoff though — you have to pay for parking — that’s $ 7 for the first three hours WITHVALIDATION. At $ 50 per adult, you’d think that parking could be included. If a family of four attended Sunday Brunch here — that’s $ 200 and they’d still have to pay for parking. I’ve been to other Sunday Brunches within the same price range in the immediate area — one that comes to mind is the Sunday Champagne Brunch at Orange HIll. I believe the price-point is within the same category as the Queen Mary — and recall that the food there was a little bit more higher-quality AND you were not charged for parking. Overall, it’s a great to be able to experience it once, but for Sunday Brunch at this price, I’d probably go to Orange Hill in the future.

Me: Wanna go to the Queen Mary with us? Friend: Yeah sure I’ve never been on the Queen Mary Me: Then you’re lucky it’s opening night of haunted harbor! Friend: I thought you were inviting me to a nice dinner on the boat… lol So my friend flaked out, but one Sunday morning I woke up w/crazy cravings of wanting chicken and waffles, dessert, all sorts of food that only a vegas buffet could satisfy. Luckily that same friend had woken up from a hangover and suggested Champagne Sunday Brunch at Queen Mary! He didn’t get a his nice dinner on the boat, but we had a nice brunch :) It says to make reservations ahead of time, so we called that morning and they said reservations were full, but that if we wanted, we could try coming anyway to wait. I get hangry easily and will not sit waiting patiently for food if I don’t have to, but my friend really wanted to try it so I decided to test our luck. We were lucky that day ’cause we took the stairs to the buffet(2nd floor) and were able to avoid any line or wait! Brunch is about $ 50 a person so it’s a hefty price tag. You better come here prepared to feast. The banquet room the buffet was located in, is HUGE and they had live performances on stage. Very clean and plenty of friendly staff. One of the best buffet services I’ve had. The food is also constantly replenished so it’s fresh and warm. Many people were celebrating special occasions like a birthday or anniversary and we were asked by some people what occasion we were celebrating. Sadly, all I could respond in my head was«WEHUNGRY! «(say it like tyrone in fast in furious). Carnivore inside me was happy w/their carving station. They had turkey breast, prime rib, pork tenderloin, ham, ribs, etc. Prime rib was perfectly medium rare with juices flowing on my plate. Seafood section was cool! They had seared ahi tuna(surprisingly, I didn’t get a stomach ache), giant roasted salmon(great presentation of it, refer to my pics later), crab legs, oysters, mussels, shrimp, etc. The only negatives is that the crab legs weren’t piled abundantly like vegas buffets. Seemed like they were trying to limit it for people. The shrimps weren’t deveined either which is kinda gross. My biggest surprise was the Asian section! Normally I just skip over it at buffets but DONOT skip over it here! We were surprised at how good the orange chicken, kung pao chicken, and asian ribs were. They also had this bacon cheese tortellini pasta which was so yum in my tum! Breakfast station was poppin w/their corn beef hash. No skimping on the corn beef here, so good! I got double servings of it. I also got my chicken and waffles craving satisfied! The chicken was just ok, wished it were more crispy. Waffles were perfect and you could see it being freshly made by the cook that was manning the waffle machine and omelette station. They had eggs benedict and the usual breakfast fare Great selection on desserts in terms of pastries and cheesecake/pies/tarts, but limited on ice cream variety. They only had vanilla. There’s a design your crêpe or ice cream sundae. Plenty of ripe sweet fruits as well ranging from watermelon to honey dew and cantaloupe. Our champagne glasses were never empty and plates were cleaned constantly. Normally I would go to Pala to satisfy my vegas buffet cravings, but Queen Mary’s Sunday brunch was pretty epic. I just think the price doesn’t really match the quality of the food, but I guess that’s the price you pay at an iconic place like Queen Mary! Not a bad place to celebrate a special occasion though! EATDRINKANDBEMERRY! We literally heard bottles poppin every 5 mins :)
