Unfortunately it’s closing or closed. The good news, There’s a change of license in the window to Rances Pizza, now I won’t have to drive to Costa Mesa anymore.

What motivated me to give this restaurant a review, was not only the delicious food, but the quality of service we received. Although short-staffed, a very polite Jackie was able to execute perfect service at our table. She kept an authentic smile on her face(which she’s gorgeous by the way) in the process. I will definitely return and I am happy to have stumbled across this place. I ordered the ribeye, truffle fries, Brussels sprouts and shrimp and guacamole. Just wow. Thanks guys!

My nephew picked me up by surprise today and we went on a drive to Belmont Shore. I had not been in the area for years. Decided to get some dinner and found this place as we walked by trying to decide what to eat. After we were inside we found out they were short staffed and there would be a wait, even though most of the tables were empty. We almost left to try someplace else. My nephew went to find out how long and we decided to stay after they assured us it would just be a few minutes until the one waitress could seat us. We were served by a gal named Jackie and I have to say, she was great. Despite having a lot of people to serve she was upbeat, quite personable and made some really great suggestions. Now I have to tell you i HATE Brussels Sprouts but she convinced us to try them and I have to say if I can get them cooked like they do at The Shore House then I’d eat them every day! The food was very tasty and the service was awesome. Will definitely go back again.

Me and my boyfriend came here for the first time tonight and we were pretty disappointed. No liquor license so I tried to order a red sangria and they«had just run out» okay so I have the white sangria. My boyfriend ordered a red wine specifically to go with his lamb he ordered. About 10 – 15 minutes after we placed our order a man(not our waitress) came and told us they were all out of lamb and asked if we wanted something else no real apology… He ended up ordering something else just because we were already there. Our food ended up being good but because of everything else that happened we will probably not be back.

They call themselves a steakhouse? They might’ve gotten five stars out of me if I was not expecting good steak at a steakhouse. The ambience is nice(actually, sitting next to the window with the heater on is perfect). The service is spectacular(from the host, to the waiter [goooo Victor!], to waiter’s helper). The food is good(must have the brussels sprouts!). However, when it came down to the steak, I might as well have been at Sizzler. Where did they get this beef from? There was absolutely NO marbling. It was flavorful, but t-o-u-g-h! I couldn’t eat it. Nice portion in the trash. The $ 34 ribeye tasted like a $ 12 side of the toughest beef ever. My friend, on the other hand, had the chicken sandwich, and was happy. Don’t come to this«steakhouse» for the steak.

My best friend, boyfriend and I went here for a late night dinner. It’s a great little spot on 2nd street. We came in about an hour or an hour and a half before closing, they were super friendly seating us down! Got us our drinks and helped us decide what food we wanted. They brought out complimentary bread(pipping hot, so great) and the spread was like this buttery/olive-oily herb. So great and I had to ask for seconds and thirds and fourths. They seriously kept helping without question. I had to be restrained by my friend to ask for more, or else I would«ruin» my appetite for my steak. Bah-Humbug, I say that is a challenge! [Boyfriend and I were going on a week’s trip so I can’t have any take-home food, so I had a huge challenge ahead) The steak(Porterhouse) was huge but so good, the fries(I upgraded to garlic parmesan, to die for) I kept having to swat my boyfriend away from my fries, I almost bit him, to my defense the fries were that good! He ordered a chicken sandwich and my friend ordered a sandwich, but I don’t know what she ordered, but she had the same fries so she had to share with my boyfriend.(to my defense again, boyfriend was teasing that I couldn’t finish my steak so I wouldn’t share, had a point to prove. PS. I finished my steak, he bet me $ 20 and I won so I got myself yummy chowder in Seattle: P

Brussel sprouts are so flipping good! The 5 stars is for the appetizers(Brussel sprouts, ceviche, and steak) and service. This place feels spacious and looks pretty too.

This is an awesome place for food and drinks! Went here initially because of Groupon but easily will go without one. The fried chicken, burgers, and their spicy mayo are yummy but nothing beats the BRUSSELSPROUTS! I have had them in several places but these are my favorite! Service is usually pretty good but Kevin is the best! Prices are reasonable and ambiance is like a comfy gastropub.

I felt like I was at a restaurant in Manhattan Beach, with all the dark woods, the communal bar seating, etc. The décor is rather pleasing. I didn’t use the restroom, but my mom(who is albeit 4’10″) told me she couldn’t see herself in the vanity mirrors because they were too high. Fail. We were seated quickly and the food came out very fast. The place was mostly empty for dinner. I know it was a weekday, but still. We got the sprouts, and they were sweet and tangy. The chili pieces topping the veggies weren’t at all spicy. Even though I’ve never had my sprouts slathered in honey, I rather liked it. I’m not sure why the dish is accompanied by toasted bread, however. I didn’t want to top it with the concoction, and we both ate the bread with the other part of our meal. On that note, we never got any bread for the table. I saw another table get basket after basket of rolls with some sort of green dipping sauce. I was on the verge of asking, but I decided that my body has been too carb-friendly as of late, and I chose to abstain. Still, it would have been nice to have gotten some, asked-for or not. We shared the meat sampler, and it came out on a mini bbq grill thingamajig. I guess it was still smoking the meat on the top. There was so much food. It comes with veggies, so I wouldn’t add those as your side order. We got mashed potatoes instead, and it all made for a great meal. There was plenty to take home, making it a fabulous value.

We were walking down 2nd street one day and saw a sign that said bottomless mimosas for $ 9 on Saturdays and Sundays. This was what brought us here and we are definitely coming back for more! They even have hibiscus mimosas and coming soon are cucumber mint mimosas! For $ 9, who can beat that??? They have patio seating for those that like to people watch as well as community style high tops for the more social butterflies in addition to the typical booths for those that want a more intimate setting. Ambiance is great and service was excellent. I love this place and would highly recommend it!

Overall, it’s an average restaurant, both food and dining experience. You walk in to an Edison bulb trendy yet rustic vibe, which was great. It went down hill from there. The service is average at best and the lack of patrons was evident of it. We sat down and we first found out they don’t have a liquor license. We waited what seemed forever for our food given they weren’t overly busy. The food was good and decently prepared, but nothing to write home about. Had the salmon and the skirt steak. Salmon had a thick overpowering sauce on it and the skirt steak was tough. Then we used the bathroom, and that’s what really did this place in. It clearly wasn’t renovated as it reminded me of a gas station bathroom. Just awful. The door is bent inward so you have to hold it shut in order to lock it. Won’t be back.

Went with a Groupon deal and read my trusty Unilocal reviews before visiting. That being said, I started with the notorious Brussels sprouts. They are so crispy and delicious with a few twists(like honey mustard) on the standard recipe. EXCELLENT So, I went with the fish and chips, which consisted of one huge haddock filet that was dipped in a light batter and perfectly cooked. The inside was flaky and moist while the crunchy shell was just right, Adding white truffle to the fries was an added pleasure, while I wasn’t real crazy about the catsup concoction that was a little sweet and hot.(Would rather just have catsup). Luckily, the truffle fries were plenty tasty without any supplemental dipping. I’ll definitely be going back for more and I’ll probably order the exact same thing. BTW, Sheri loved her Papa burger, too.

This used to be Public Shore House, yeah? Must say, very impressed with the change overall. Been here two times since the revamp… Can’t quite put my finger on what changed besides some of the menu… The wait staff? I have no idea, but whatever it is, keep doin’ it cuz it is WORKIN’. Service has been excellent, loooooove the atmoshere, definitely more foot traffic, but still intimate. Sat here for over two hours last night, laughing with friends over a bottle of wine. By the way«Wine Wednesdays» = half price for the bottle, yo! Such a steal. The food itself is also excellent. They even do brussel sprouts better than me… teach me your ways. Things to try: sweet chile wings, brussel sprouts(of course), prime steak sandwich, papa burger, salmon salad(forgot the actual name, but you can figure it out). LOVE the playlist by the way — perfect for an older soul.

When I check out new places, I keep in mind of the location of the business. There are many places on 2nd Street to visit that offer comparable menus, and at the same or cheaper than Shore House so I expected this place to blow me away. I was disappointed and will not come back again. I have came here twice and both times I found the food to be subpar. The place is nice looking, but the food just does not compare to local businesses. I would compare it more to chains like Chili’s or Applebees. If you are trying to avoid the long lines elsewhere, this place will do, but if given the choice go elsewhere.

I went on vacation for a few weeks and I came back to find that the Shore Public House is now the Shore Steak House. There really is very little difference other than now they have a few steaks on the menu. I went here on a Sunday morning for brunch, and that was exactly the same as it had always been. I ordered the brussel sprouts as I always do, which were still as amazing as always. My friend got the breakfast burrito, which he enjoyed. Bottomless mimosas are still $ 8 for brunch, but I did not take advantage of that this past weekend. Maybe next weekend ;-)! I think I need to come back for dinner to see the Shore Steak House’s new offerings. The employees and service were superb as always. I originally gave the Shore Public House 5 stars, but since they no longer are open for lunch, I had to deduct one star :-(.

Great food and friendly service. Went there on a Sunday to avoid dealing with the craziness of Legends down the street. The Game was on and the brunch had great prices. The ambiance was great too. A lot of thought put into the décor and theme. Will be coming back for dinner next!

What a wonderful dinner. I can’t understand how a restaurant that serves good food struggles. Maybe it’s all the competition near by? I suppose because of the location, 2nd street, there’s just so much to choose from that everyone just goes to the highly rated places and just passes this gem by but I digress. On a Thursday the night, there was one server, two bussers and a manager walking around on the floor. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so the service was perfect. Our server gave us a couple suggestions on food to try and the manager table touched a couple times during our dinner. Great service. The food for the most part was very tasty! My favorite thing we ordered was the Brussel sprouts. It was perfectly crispy and has this mustard sauce that added just the right amount of tang to the dish. The steak was cooked just like we ordered. Medium. Perfect char. We got some fries and it came with this yummy ketchup. Jalapeño ketchup I think. The only thing I didn’t really care for was the dessert. The turtle bread pudding wasn’t really bread pudding. It was more like 2 slices of warm soggy bread with a scoop of ice cream. It wasn’t overly sweet. None of it was sweet. Not the ice cream, not the caramel sauce. The only thing that was sweet were the candies nuts sprinkled on top. It was weird. I didn’t enjoy it at all. Overall, I’d say for dinner this place cooks some very good food. Check it out for dinner but skip dessert, it needs some work.

We walked in very excited about trying this new place. I order a pear cider and told that they only had apple. Even though on the menu it said pear and so did the board with the drinks listed. The apple ended up being refreshing. He order an ale beer that was served in a small bottle. Not worth the $ 10.00. We order the steak sample which was very delicious. However, the meat became cold quickly. 3 sauces were served with the meat. 1 tasted like A1, the chili one tasted very similar to fajitas and the last sauce was similar to oily garlic. The same sauce that came with your bread. The sample came with a VERY small side of your choice. We decided on the mash potatoes, but after a couple of bites of steak the potatoes were cold. The server was very polite and attentive. We will be coming back to try it again but for the happy hour prices on the weekend!
